Jack Newfield busted him big time to no avail other than to make him a bigger crook than ever. Hard to believe he's still alive and ruining fighters.

It was unfortunate that when I moved i had to get rid of so much. I probably had over 1000 books and even more magazines. I didn't mind the clutter when I lived in RI because I was in that house for so long. But I didn't want to bring so much with when I came to NC. I've got a decent collection of books now but don't read nearly as much as I use to.

Yeah Newfield turned King out and brought so many of his miss doings to light. Didn't seem to hurt him much though. The only thing that has slowed him down is father time. The guy is like a ****roach though.

. There were so many Saturday Night Live renditions as well...I guess we have to also give credit for the roastings which King took well.

I always managed to take my books with me... And it has not been easy! As a matter of fact, my mother has a large 3 bedroom apartment in a nice area of Baltimore (if such could be said to exist) and in it she has a baby grand piano and a small library my parents collected through two book of the months clubs when I was not yet here and through my early childhood. I treasure both, particularly that library which seemed so well put together by the people who had those clubs, along with some other very nice books my parents bought through the years.

I treasure that library as an anchor... It allowed me to grow when I was bored in school. It taught me to love books and cherish them. I am trying to do the same for my two boys for when they have families. My own library is pretty nice, but for the real classics Mom's collection cannot be beat.

But moving those books! it has been a labor of love... I am hoping when I get a bit older, to have a giant collection of text books. Text books were fantastic. They are not used much these days but are IMO usually very well written. I would love to make available a textbook library along with my special martial arts and boxing stuff. But that stuff is just a vanity project lol, the real value for the textbooks for kids is important. If I had not had books in my life? I would no doubt have been in jail. Smart kids need things that they can relate to...

A few posts ago I mentioned to Jab that there had been a Sam Cooke closed circut concert connected to the Rumble in the Jungle but that it fell flat when the fight was delayed and the concert couldn't carry the weight alone.

OK, no big deal. One day later flipping through shorts I am fed a clip from that concert. James Brown, Zaire 1974.

There has been too much of this sort of thing. One mention on a forum and that obscure video appears? Come on!

I understand when I go to a webpage I am likely to be hit with ads for that product or service. But I posted on a damn boxing forum that maybe ten people read, maybe.
willie is it possible you clicked on the don king video i posted when i started the thread and that told the algorythm to suggest other such videos?
I think the youtube algorthym can be great at times as it throws up videos I would never think to search for or seek out yet i thoroughly enjoy, is that possible you watched the one i suggested hence why others were recommended?

There was also a great crime series on Cleveland that included Don King and his exploits. hard to imagine... That roach of a man was cowering, basically avoiding the bigger crime families as they "game of throne'sd" each other lol.

Paulie Walnuts survived the Columbo wars back in the 70s by the skin of his balls. Played both sides against the middle. Sounds just like our friend Don King.

I was a biblophile, but for reasons I will not go into when my parents passed my filthly scum of a DI 'brother' had them all dumped into a skip.

The Don King expose was a cracker.

If only one of the heavies he robbed could have killed him with one punch.

Bill, what is cleveland like? If you watch the second half of this video the man danny green fighting the mafia. Was and is cleveland very dangerous? It seems to come across as bombs and killings regular.

if you see the irish danny green who fought the italians it makes cleveland ohio seem extremely dangerous. is it still today like that?
