I could be wrong?, but I don't remember and promoter before him that was so brash as to go to these places and sell these fights. On top of it, he made out like a bandit just as he always has. I don't like Don King the man, but his business savvy was top notch BANDITRY.

He is the lowest form of murderous scum.

      Pol Pot had more morals.

Having a s*upid fecking hairstyle and a rictus corpse grin never fooled me.

        AI is getting spooky already.

A few posts ago I mentioned to Jab that there had been a Sam Cooke closed circut concert connected to the Rumble in the Jungle but that it fell flat when the fight was delayed and the concert couldn't carry the weight alone.

OK, no big deal. One day later flipping through shorts I am fed a clip from that concert. James Brown, Zaire 1974.

There has been too much of this sort of thing. One mention on a forum and that obscure video appears? Come on!

I understand when I go to a webpage I am likely to be hit with ads for that product or service. But I posted on a damn boxing forum that maybe ten people read, maybe.

I agree though, it is getting spooky and I personally don't like it.

              2. Could stomp a head like no other

He was crook who put on some good boxing matches. But that is as far as I will go to defend a guttersnipe conman.

I have posted this before but . . . I watched Don King be 'short term greedy' stupid with the Bramble-Camacho situation.

Bramble-Camacho was to be a big money fight for 1986.

King wanted to double dip with a preliminary event. Which was a good idea, no problem.

The Preamble to Bramble the fights were called. Miami, Florida.

                  He matched Camacho against Boza-Edwards
A beloved name and not a threat to Camacho.

Then Don King got short-term greedy stupid. He matched Bramble against Rosario. Why?

Rosario had just come within one round of beating Camacho and was just the wrong style for Bramble. Someone who could bang.

Why didn't King give Bramble a strawman like he did Camacho, someone who was no threat and Bramble could show-off with?

The Bramble-Camacho fight was already a go, no one needed to have Bramble prove himself.

                  So why?

Because King had Rosario under contract for another fight and it is always easier to fleece a fighter you have signed than one you have to negotiate with. I'm sure Rosario came cheap and then got cheated even more.

Don King couldn't see past the short term gain of using Rosario instead of a strawman, and blew-up the Bramble-Camacho fight. That's not smart, forget brilliant.

As for the fighters after the fights. Camacho walked away from King, Bramble was used goods, and King fed Rosario to Chavez.

Don King has never looked brilliant to me. Just well self-promoted.

P.S. At the risk of pretensions this wasn't 20/20 hindsight on my part. I cringed when I first heard it was going to be Rosario. Then I watched myself be right.

(I went to the fight live and sat next to Alexis Arguello. He was in the last $500 seat I was in the first $100 seat. We had a velvet rope between us. We talked all night. It was wonderful.)

I used to have the biography on him "DonKing:His life and crimes". Great book and I'm sure the answer to your question is in there. Wish I still had it to look.

Jack Newfield busted him big time to no avail other than to make him a bigger crook than ever. Hard to believe he's still alive and ruining fighters.
