Roid fight! Roid fight! Read all about it! Two admitted roiders of our own going no-holds-barred with zombie passion!
Does anyone still think the old time heavyweights were too small to be competitive in the modern era?

Sports forums have been steadily dying since the late 2010s. Internet users have moved on from forums, just as they moved on from chat rooms in the 2000s. Nothing lasts forever on the interwebs and the worm always turns. When I came to Boxing Scene in 2006, there were probably half a dozen or more active boxing forums. What are there now? Maybe two? Does Ea stside Boxing still get traffic? I haven't been there in years, so I have no clue.
I forgot about es boxing, and can't even remember the names of the others either.
crazy to see this place the way it is. even the horrible way it looks..Comment

you sound like me now
so frame and natural size matter?
I thought it was height and weight only???
this is pointless if you adopt my stance.
of course fury is built like a milk bag. Hes heavy and thin framed. Not strong at all for his weight.
you realize this now?
now look at marciano hes the opposite of that
God forbid that I should sound like you on this subject.
My stance has always been a man 200lbs+ and 6ft+is big enough for anyone IF he is good enough.
185lbs, 5 ft 10 slow footed, short armed, Marciano does NOT qualify
I've been watching boxing for 68years, practised it for nearly 20,bought my 1st fight films in the mid 60's ,and have about200 books on the subject, you aren't teaching me anything.Comment

Some how a 6 ft 3, 225 lb man doing something is evidence of a 5’10, 185 lb man doing it
The idiocy never ends, that poster in particular.
If anything, Usyk has provided evidence that like you said, and I agree with, the ideal weight for an elite HW is 220 or so lbs.
There are bigger guys I do rate, Lennox Lewis, Rid**** Bowe, Wlad Klitschko, I suppose Tyson Fury in his prime, all around 240 or so lbs. But I wouldn’t put any of those in my top 5 and only Lewis gets in my Top 10.
I would pick Muhammad Ali on his best day to beat anyone, he’s 6 ft 3, 220 lbs.

I think Marciano was overrated and didn’t have him in mind.
But the fact remains that we have had posters here who automatically dismiss the greats of old because they say they were too small and didn’t have modern weight training and PEDs to make them super muscular and puffed up. As if that equates to athleticism or boxing skill.
