  • ESPN best of the 21st century

I like lists. I understand they're subjective. But disagree with Vits being number 10. Wlad was clearly the better fighter who fought the best available. That said he wouldn't make my top 10 either. I also have serious reservations about Calzaghe making this list. His best wins were against old shopworn legends in Hopkins and Jones, and he barely sc****d by Hop. Outside of Kessler his resume is very thin. Instead I'd have Crawford and Inoue in there. Thoughts and opinions?

It’s ok. I agree with you I wouldn’t have Vitali or Calzaghe on it but other than that I can’t disagree mostly.

I think Inoue and Crawford weren’t including because they’re active.

I know Canelo also is but I think he’s closer to the end then them two that’s why they included him.

At least they had big Vit low on the list. That tells me that in a decade or two he won't even be on it.

Terrible list! No way should Jones be at 4 in his 21st century career...he'd be lucky to scratch a top 30. Ward and Canelo in a top 10 are also horrible inclusions.

Yeah well what do you expect from young ESPN analysts? Sounds like recency bias.

Roy Jones Jr. is my guy, but he belongs on a '90s list, not a 21st century list.

Oscar De La Hoya doesn't belong on a 21st century list, either,

              No Bud Crawford or Chocolatito?

              No GGG?

              Terrible list,

              My list:

              1. Manny
              2. Floyd
              3. Crawford
              4. Hopkins
              5. Canelo
              6. Chocolatito
              7. Marquez
              8. Inoue
              9. Usyk
              10. GGG

                  What a terrible list.
The sport of boxing played a consequential role in making the station in Bristol Connecticut what it is today, during it's formative years; and because it is the oldest international professional sport, and one of the greatest producers of international sporting superstars; We would think that ESPN would feel some obligation of getting its history right.

I love Ward, but he sat years out of his career & retired early
