You're right. What I meant was that with the new ownership also come new standards and new guidelines for moderators (which may not always be so permissive). I noticed that people in the Lounge complained about several threads being removed.

Apparently we are back in **** Germany. I only looked at the first 5 pages, but every thread has been closed in the comments and suggestions forum. The imperial dictatorship has spoken!!

New ownership and apparently the forum is now being moderated by AI. We've asked for some posting rules or guidelines but it appears they'll just stick to algorithms that automatically ban an account for an infraction they are unaware of.

Does that only count for new posts? Lol some of the nonsense I posted here in the past since I was 15.

Good question. We still don't know. Several posters were banned just for having certain people in their avatars. Even Larry's account shows as banned now because of the avatar. It would be a lot easier if they just laid down some ground rules first.

I see they put the Thunder Dome and the Lounge back. I don't know what a man is permitted to say though. I don't even know if he is allowed to say "man," or "he." We will know AI has passed the Turing test and passed it good when we cannot tell its actions from a reasonable human's and it allows us to be the cranky farts we are and our, after all is said, mild invective and beloved chiding.

In another forum he was Mcvey, Tonto62, and Tony. They were others. Way too much for one man. You can guess who they are here. A leopard doesn't change his spots, does he?

Maybe we will have to wait and see another poster with a few posts getting into an argument here ( a telltale sign ) with someone who has been here for a while before pointing any fingers. Ivich as he went by here had numerous " issues " with other posters here, and he obviously had issues with admin.

Yes. I remember McVey well. He was one of the best posters in the classic section of ESB. But we're not talking about there, we're talking about here. You said, and I quote "Besides the man had ton of alts and might still be reading posts here." So I ask again, who were the "ton of alts"? You literally throw him under the bus every chance you get. So why not name these ton of alts you've claimed. Personally I don't think you can, because there weren't any. You're just trying to find another way to twist the knife in his back.

why is passion for the sport seen as a bad thing, i disagree with queenie but i don't wish him ill. think this is a case of taking life too seriously. we are all friends here just talking boxing. no one needs to be banned it is going too far.

I ran into Slugfester last night on another forum. He said this place banned him permanently--something about being _exually inappropriate. He said he remembers no such thing. He told me, "I am always _exually appropriate. Ask any of the guys."

I could tell the old boy was crying as we spoke. He said the people here are his friends and he is going to miss calling them names.

I've used the contact us feature requesting the ban be lifted. Don't know if it will do any good, but I'd encourage others to do so as well. Ivich and I were on the same page about a lot of things, but we disagreed on others. Bottom line is he wasn't a troll, but a knowledgeable contributor to this section. My personal feelings are this was never properly investigated, but the doings of one poster repeatedly reporting his posts for any minor infraction to cause this ban because of a personal dislike of the man. Bat who mods this section and I have argued about the Klitschkos for years and our differing opinions. It's gotten heated at times. But at the end of the day we don't go out of our way to take opposing stances on other topics because we vehemently disagree on another. If a poster main objective here is to talk boxing and share information and knowledge they should not be banned. If they are banned they should be given the reason why or else we're right back to **** Germany. My two cents.

Or could be the reportings of one admin who has a grudge. Like with what we're seeing with threads being constantly closed and deleted. Either way, I wonder if there's a way to find out who that is.
