But his biggest paydays, the record setters, involved, Canleo, Pacquiao, Hatton, Juda. McGregor, Del La Hoya, Gatti.

All known as fighters who would press the action.

While each brought with them enough of their own fans to set (together) record breaking $ numbers.

But did they buy for him or them?

On the other hand every great fighter needs his 'Joe Fraziers.' It always takes two to make the big bucks.

I don't think they do a higher number with anyone else. Mayweather was definitely a draw. People have always talked of boxing's decline, but after he retired, that is when the sport took a big step back I think.

      Hit and don't be hit.

Whether it takes 3 rounds or 12 rounds, who got the job done in the end? .................Rockin'

Eh! That's just boxing. I want a fist fight to break out during the bout.

You all can spar in the gym all you like. Show up to fight not count your punches.

Your ATG avatar only managed a 27% ko rate.

That guy fought more months than not every year.

The man could box his ass off...................Rockin'

If you list the only 4 boxing matches in history that have surpassed 2 million PPV’s, Mayweather is the common denominator in all of them.

I think that answers your question.

Back to my same old same old argument . . .

You've got to entertain or people won't watch.

We had one of the greatest ATGs ever in Mayweather Jr. yet the fight game lost ground instead of becoming more popular. Why was that? Because Money for the casual fan was boring to watch.

No ****, no **** for your buck -- celebrities walked out on the boy because he wouldn't fight just box.

The NBA secretly/quietly added a half step to the traveling rule just so slam-dunks would be more excitng.

You got to entertain to be great. I didn't make the rule but it's always been a rule. Boxers don't get an exception.
Dude, Tim Duncan's the most boring NBA player of all-time.

He's in every top 10 ATG list I can remember

The only thing required to be great is to be better than everybody else.

Yea but Pep came to fight. If his opponent didn't come to him he went after the guy.

I didn't say you have to have a big punch, I said you have to be exciting (willing to fight). A big punch helps with that but you don't have to win by KO.

You do though have to make it a fist fight not just a boxing match. Willie Pep loved to 'fight' not just box.

So what's the "job" to be done? Winning by judges' decision or taking it to your opponent?

Get the win and you got the job done. Ko or decision.

You ain't even fighting until you taste your own blood. 'Til then it's boxing................Rockin'
