        - - Archie Moore and Mike Spinks are my favs that I have also seen a lot of their fights.

Greatest is just a beauty contest for 2 dimensional lineal thinkers. They and Sam Langford could be greatest in any era.

            Great list.

I’d prob bring Foster down a class imo though. He got starched when he moved up and didn’t fight the best competition at lhw. He fought another good but small heavyweight Doug Jones who also beat him(to show that size wasn’t the only factor) I don’t think he beats the other great lhws. Michael Moorer was a beast at lhw, but never got to prove it on his resume. Still hes underated, he moved up and beat a prime Holyfield who was similar sized.

on the otherside Joey Maxim could probably move up a notch. He fought some stiff competition - his resume is absolutely loaded with A tier opponent’s that he fought numerous times and often lost close decisions. This should be factored in when judging him.

there are some guys on the atg list that have resumes that pale in comparison to his. They had winning records, but competition is everything.

Bob Foster's only "Flaw" was that he just didn't move up well, but his power at 175 was breathtaking, if not lifetaking. One of my favorites. And, hey Apples, thank you.

                Joey Maxims resume:

Archie Moore (2x), Ezzard Charles (5x!) , Joe Walcott (3x), Floyd Patterson, Jimmy Bivins, Lloyd Marshall, Eddie Machen(2x), Curtis Shappard, Henry Cooper…Ray Robinson

the list goes on. Of course he has a lot of losses.

My apologies on all those weird symbols, I seem to be the only one plagued by it.

Thanks to all who have so far commented, I hope to get a lot more. I thought of this when the "almost ATG post came out", I think its interesting who, and where, and why people rank fighters (and the semantics we use).

I figured Lt Heavy would be a good class to go with, one of the original 8 classes, lots of big names, and the weight is capped (so no bias against older fighters for being too small).

Also like that my thoughts are in line with many of you.
