They are not my claims they are the claims of accredited contemporary boxing reporters who were ringside.
Should I believe them or an anonymous comic that was three times translated has no provenance , and no time dates or places a comic that is contradicted in several instances, by Johnson's real autobiography with a foreword by Denzil Bachelor, which I also own.
Why do you suppose no writer present recorded a knocked down scored by Langford ,after all it the fight was held in his adopted home town ? If there was the slightest doubt would not at least one of them had said it happened?
Moyle's book states no writer mentioned a KD scored by Langford it's on the very page you posted!
I don't pretend to know it all, just more than you on this particular subject
Why don't you buy the books ,then you will have read, and know the same as me?
You are beat all ways to Sunday on this, but as per usual, you haven't the class, or the balls to admit it!
Moyle's book simply states what I am posting on this forum...Jack Johnson himself claimed on at least two occasions he hit the canvas in that fight. In one account he says it was a slip after a glancing punch from Langford. You're a stubborn old goat who can't and won't admit that you're arguing with yourself. I'm not the one claiming Johnson went down...Johnson himself did! Idiot.

Thanks but for famous fighters Johnson certainly rates high of DQ's wins and losses total, doesn't he? He might be #1 in the hall of fame and that has over 50 fighters in it with total amount of DQ's! If you factor in the numerous fights where he was booed form lack of action ( the ref even left the ring ) something is up. He tossed a few low too, pinched biceps, hit in breaks, etc..

I can trade you for over 50 such lists via PM on heavyweight rankings. Some of these rankings are form men have passed that have received them though private correspondence not on seen on the web. Interested?
As for Johnson being #2 among HOF or champion heavyweights, when we're talking about total number of DQs... well, ahead of him we have at least Young Stribling with 7! So possibly 3rd place for Johnson in this strange category?
But why this specific interest in Johnson's DQ exploits? One could almost be led to believe, that you're trying to put him in a bad light... but then again, why on earth would you want to do that? No, that makes no sense - it must be something else! Like you're planning to write a book on Johnson, and want to know everything you possibly can about him - is that it?Willow The Wisp likes this.

Yes I may write a book one day. One chapter will be on over rated fighters, their DQ's and questionable decisions. It will be rather juicy and uncovered ground. Another's chapter will be on the evaluation of heavy weight boxing , ( did you see my top 15 era ratings? ) and another chapter will be on punch stats and are they relevant. Another chapter will be on total ring magazine contenders fought and avoided contenders. I got a lot to talk about. Anyway send me what you have on DQ's.
