    Exactly!

      Total 14

7 is the number to beat?
      1. Savold
      2. Layne
      3. Louis
      4. Walcott
      5. Charles
      6. LaStarza
      7. ****ell
      8. Moore

... Folks do not generally regard Marciano as one with a great resume either.

Also, skimming, I realized that crold1 is the Cliff Rold who writes the p4p. Been watching that for years my man, I appreciate your input.

      • Oh, forgot to say though ...

Dr.Z it's okay to let this one go and make a different case for Vitali. I don't hate Vitali, but I do think his resume is weak. That's why I looked at Marciano. He's another I think highly of but his resume is pretty lacking.

Both are head to head monsters in my opinion. Well, size considered ... I'm not saying 185ers should fight 265ers but compared to guys around his size Marciano is a monster.

I would favor Vitali against a lot of the guys mentioned in this thread but since everyone keeps ****ing on about Ring ratings it's not easy to shoehorn in ... Unless I just do it like this, abruptly

          Louis 26
I have Vitali at 8-2 which ties him with Schemling, Frazier, and Liston.

Again Soils was ranked when the fight happened per Cliff who says it was an internet rank of Ring Magazine, and Box Rec under the fight of Vitali vs Soils says that Soils was ranked in ring magazine. I say in addition to this, Soils was in fact ranked in print in ring magazine when the fight happened and before it happened! Cliff claims to have all of issues but can not snap a smart phone photo of it. Whatever...

By the way not all of Patterson's wins were vs heavyweights! One was a light heavy weight match! And I am not satisfied that Kirk Johnson was not ring magazine ranked when they fought! So it could be 9-2 for Vitali. Either way Vitali winning percentage is at top of the list!

You might want to check on Charles wins too as some of them could be vs. light heavies.

To work which you quote is clearly not yours! Who's is it? I ask this question again.

You can side with Cliff, he agrees with me that Soils was ranked at the time ( on line says ) and claims to have the ring magazine issues but can not prove a photo of them with his phone which is very easy to do today! Prove this in print he will not do. Ask him to do so. Considering the amount of time he spent on the issue you have to wonder why.

Enough talk on that. We know fighter like Ali or Louis have more ring magazine ranked wins but this was not the bet I offered.
If you recall correctly I'm the one who offered a wager when you asked me to name 10 heavyweights with more Ring ranked wins. When you realized you were in a no win situation you pushed the goal posts back saying the bet was more than six wins for Vits. I clearly stated again that that was not the bet. The bet was 10 fighters or more. That has been clearly proven. And as said before, boxrec is not ring magazine. I'll take the guy who writes for them or yours any day. As will everyone else here. The fact that you're trying to put him down is very telling. Either way it's been proven Vits didnt fight the best, has a weak resume and isn't amongst the top 10 heavyweights with the most Ring ranked wins.

                Even if you were correct about those three,and you are not, that still leaves;
                Baer
                Sharkey
                Walcott
                Charles
                Ali
                Lewis
                Holmes
                Patterson
                Holyfield
                Louis
                Tyson
That would be eleven so you still lose. And now you are all but accusing Cliff of lying!

You seriously need to get a grip!

It's easy to have a good winning percentage when you don't fight the best fighters. Ask Lamar Clark. Point is, you want Vits to be looked at as great based on how you think he does in fantasy fights. There are many other who have better resumes, more ring ranked wins and beat the best fighter in the division. Vits was a helluva fighter, but he is supremely overrated based on resume and the amount of top 10 fighters he didn't fight. You consistently try and move the goalposts with talk past fighter not fighting heavyweights because they would be heavyweight today. Fact is you don't know if they would be or not.
