I don't know if you you caught Arreola's fight with Ruiz Jr, but Arreola had MUCH greater success against Ruiz than Joshua could manage in TWO TRIES! That's a fact.
If I were piloting the cash-out phase of Joshua's career, I'd consider these things. Even if you have a suite of significant gifts, carefully developed skills and supreme athleticism going for you, as I claim that Joshua does; when you've discovered that you are a bit chinny, and prone to getting the enthusiasm to carry on punched out of you during a fight, and these things have bit you thrice during your middle prime, against a puncher AND against a boxer......the navigation piece aimed at extracting the most revenue in the MINEFIELD of today's deep Heavyweight top 30 will require the greatest of CARE. It was acknowledged a long time ago, albeit in public silence; that Anthony Joshua doesn't quite have what it takes to participate in the Fury/Wilder/Joshua Round Robin, that otherwise might have been this generation's Ali/Frazier/Forman...if only Joshua would have held up his end. The whole narrative about poor A.J. having faced the best opponents of the three during his time as title holder, even this has taken a beaten, with all of those "better" opponents having taken further losses and being supplanted in the ratings. Parker being the latest. Oh well. At least he's made a fortune.

      - - Ruiz a bum leg from heavy Reynoso training going in requiring surgery post fight were he was laid up a year. Hence his rusty performance vs Ortiz whom he still KD after his son got hit in the noggin by the unruly mob of that fight.

Ruiz won that Arreola fight on a bum leg. AJ busted a healthy Ruiz up badly the 2nd fight keeping him at distance, a complete facial rearrangement. Helps to watch the fight!

That funny. His father said he had been suffering that injury for three years, including both fights with Joshua. So he's 1-1 with Joshua, a while being injured the whole time. Doesn't say a lot about AJ, does it?

          In Today's News......
(Bitterly sad that such a popular contender as Joshua never got a shot at the richest And oldest title in sports).

Tyson Fury has lost patience with Anthony Joshua after he failed to sign a contract for the fight. Promoter Frank Warren spoke to TalkSport about the chances of the fight still happening, despite there being less and less time left.

"Personally, the only way it could happen is if they signed the contract. They haven't returned the contract with any *********s. Ten days later, you'd think he'd have something back by now, and it was positive talks today. Tyson is Tyson. He feels he's giving AJ a great opportunity after two losses and 40 percent."

Joshua ducking a career high purse because he knows he is going to lose.

              - - AJ been generating record purses, not U SissyBoyBlubber. AJ made 3x in a much shorter career than U Blubber long career.

U goin' monkeyman jr ain't a good look on top of U being Toooopid.

Joshua's team is scared. They don't want another loss.

Maybe Hearn has enough faith in his figher to resist cashing out by throwing Joshua to the lions. Fury is just plain better and Wilder was Always the perfectly Wrong fight for AJ. Wilder vs Joshua wouls resemble Tyson vs. Marvis Frazier IMO. But give Joshua 2 or three winnable fights, restore his confidence and his reputation. Talk up his "winning" the Ruiz rematch and how Usyk was a Spoiler, and carefully steer him into a megafight that SOMEBODY thinks he can win. Who knows? Wilder and Joyce could age out, Usyk could get smothered by Fury, who retires, and just like that, 5 plastic belts up for bid, and surely that's enough for Joshua to snag one.

Isn't that what everyone calls 'cherry picking' and 'ducking'?

BTW I agree that is a good long term plan for AJ if he wants to stay in the game.

Why is he so scared to sign a contract now? I told you he wouldn't sign. His career is in dire straights right now.
