I agree with this. Heres the problem: lets look at two seminal figures post the golden days of Duran, leonard, Hagler... Roy Jones and Mayweather. Jones beat two fellow possible ATG's in Toney and Hopkins, at an age near prime... he did so convincingly and beat other great fighters like McCallum, though past prime. Mayweather never beat a fellow ATG at prime... his fight with Pac could have gone either way... it was not a dominant performance by either guy... Canelo was young...

I even put Andre Ward as fighting better comp than Mayweather. Again, Ward won convincingly against excellent fighters consistently that imo were on average higher calibre than Floyd's wins.

Floyd is ATG at 135, but would not make my top ten list either.

      This is an easy one.

      Sugar Ray Robinson.

I agree, but he's still a cherry picker.

GOAT? No. His resume isn’t strong enough.

He’s Top 10 though for me, all things considered.

I agree that Money could have beat Manny at any time in their career. It is clear Manny has a much better resume. Fighting anyone anywhere. Manny is in the running for the G.O.A.T.

Wait - Money could have beaten PAC Man at anytime but he is still the GOAT?

Doesn't winning factor into defining a GOAT?

Okay, here's the deal. I did say Money would win. They never fought in their prime. So, we will never know that. What bothers me about Floyd is that he never fought Morales or Barrera. If you want to be the G.O.A.T. you should have at lease fought on of them. School me bros if I'm wrong.

Not even close. For one thing, I don't believe there is any one GOAT in boxing or any other sport. But, if there had to be just one, Floyd doesn't come anywhere close. He never fought an elite level fighter at their best. He waited on them to age out, become battle worn and lose a step, or catch a big name on the way up. Everything was on his terms. All that smoke and mirrors about cleaning up boxing was a scam. He used the USADA as a cover for his own PED use, at least that's my opinion. Here is a guy who is so concerned about rules, yet breaks one of the biggest ones and gets caught with an illegal IV on the even of the biggest fight of his career. Claims dehydration, which was B.S. No fighter of his caliber is going to dehydrate himself to the point he needs an IV that close to a fight and he always claimed he walked around within 5 or 6 pounds of his fighting weight. So why the dehydration? There were also rumblings throughout the sport of sealed tests where he was injecting his hands. I also feel he had at least 3 gift decisions in his career...Castillo I, De La Hoya, and Maidana I. Pacquiao fight should have been a draw and should have happened five years earlier, but Floyd himself admits he marinated the fight for five years to make it bigger, so talks of Manny ducking are moot.

Likewise I just wish that Manny Pacquaio v Floyd Mayweather Jr was made when they were in their prime as opposed to over the hill a bit.

All it proved was who was the better over-the-hill fighter.
