You spelled obnoxious wrong, and still haven't posted a list.

Sorta like Marvin Hart can't be the worst if he holds an emphatic victory over Jack Johnson.

Charles Martin in the top 10 of the worst I suppose. He never beat a standing champ and the guy he beat was obviously on one leg barely able to stand and never fought again.
Except Hart doesn't hold an emphatic victory over Johnson,it was a highly controversial decision that many thought was decided by Hart's colour.

              It's clearly Charles Martin.

He won the belt due to his opponent blowing out his knee in the fight then he proceeded to make zero successful defenses

                Neither did
                Sharkey
                Baer
                Braddock
                L Spinks
I think I might pick Martin to beat Carnera

Yeah. That's what I think. Someone on here mentioned someone else from awhile ago, which could be the case. But Martin has to the be guy in the last 50 years, maybe 100 years.

Where to start? I read through this stuff. Hope I'll recover. I really miss Marchegiano! Head & shoulders above the standard poster on this board. He actually discusses and dispenses historical infomation, rather than the silly posturing, argument baiting, headline quoting and BoxRec, CBZ cut-pasting of the rank & file. He was actually banned? For what? Taking the bait of a cyber warrior's insults? Too bad. Looking through the content of almost any older thread, always struck by the turnover and how many interesting posters have moved on over a short timeframe. Also struck by how some once vibrant contributors have been worn down over time to a quip here and there, or reduced to little beyond cynicism. Mainly, I note that any attempts to differentiate between a world heavyweight champion and a title claimant didn't seem to stick! Thankfully, It sticks fine in recorded history, which is and always has been very clear about that distinction. The WB-Whatever doesn't get to choose that weight division's champion. Not authorized to. Only fights do. Personally I see the whole question here as being disrespectful. As a soldier, I don't suffer well the battlefield thoughts of non-military types. Clean fights - same thing. Worst real heavyweight champion? Like picking out the tallest guy in a dwarf colony. Isn't an MMA figher, Wrestler, Mundials or ADCC submission fighting champion, BNFC legend or Muay Thai stadium titleholder ever born who wouldn't trade places in a heartbeat with anyone good enough to EVER get to call themselves the REAL Heavyweight champion of the World.

Now...Title Claimant?? Modern Era? Whose the worst?
