Leagues and Divisions Galore

Idk about two refs in the ring or a division for every lb in weight, but I'm all for the quality control a league could bring.

It'd be much better for the sport of boxing to truly have something that represented high level boxing like basically every sport has that represents the highest level of that sport. Right now it's just about who can garner the most attention, sell the most PPV's or who's got a corrupt organisations belt around their waist. There should be clearly established levels to boxing so there is no confusions to the casual boxing fans & sports fans what boxing they should wanna keep track of.

IMHO a possible immediate fix is have the federal government inject itself into boxing at a foundation level (as it does with bankruptcy laws) establishing a basic level of protection for the fighters but allow the individual States to expand on those regulations as they see fit (without offending the basic protections.)

For the life of me I'll never understand why some fans immediately go to the government to run or help run a sport. Is there any sport run by the government that suggests it won't be a sh^t show? I mean we already got state government commissions that have made judging boxing one of the biggest ongoing jokes in the sport. Do we really want the government in charge of more things in boxing?

I think you want & need entrepreneurs who want to remold the sport into something less antiquated to be the creators of a high level boxing league. I mean fml can you imagine how awful a government run NFL or NBA would be?!?!

For the life of me I'll never understand why some fans immediately go to the government to run or help run a sport. Is there any sport run by the government that suggests it won't be a sh^t show? Can you imagine how fooked rankings & other things would be if they ran more of boxing? Can you imagine how much money would be wasted as it virtually always is with government sh^t? How many political job placements would be made as favors instead of putting qualified people in positions? It has sh^t show written all over it.

I'm no fan of how government works to be clear, but thats not really relevant to my take on government running sports. That sounds like some communist sh^t & I'm not one of these guys talking commie sh^t all the time lmfao.

Never suggested thst G should run boxing - set matches/rankings/rules ETC. No that would be very bad, almost as bad as the scantioning bodies, promoters, and Casinos.

I was suggesting that instead of a league or a union leave things as they are now BUT have G tax the hell out of people like Steve Wynn, Bob Arum, Eddie Hearn and the scantioning bodies and put that money in trust for fighters pensions and medical care.

They make so much off the fights and give so little back to the game. Does anyone really need the WBC ro create and brag about a six million dollar championship belt? When that kind of money can be placed in federal bonds and begin to grow a powerful trust fund for fighters.

Anyway I am a big advocate of the independent fighter allowed to control his own fate. Read my other posts and you will see that.

I don't want G involved at that level, nor do I want a league or union either. Just TAX those who take so much and give it back to the fighters in the form of pensions and medical care. (Of course I am talking about the common pug (not the multi- million dollar fighters) who usually has nothing when it is all done.)
