That doesn't help me understand why it offends you or anyone else. All you did was restate what arrogance is at me like if it were described then I'd get it. I know what arrogance is, I want to know why it is offensive.

Then again, fair enough, I believe, I could be wrong, but I believe as far as safe spaces, I are be angerous now, sort of kumbaya whining rules goes, if you were to explain to me that'd be Manslpaining which is offensive. So explain it but don't because I'll be offended if it's an explanation. Make it an allegory and let me explain it to myself.

Let me mansplain this **** right quick though. If you didn't catch it the second paragraph is just ****ery, but, you don't think there is an irony in preaching take pride in one's work then getting upset when a man speaks as if they take pride in their work? I tried to capture that catch-22 using a different subject that might help you to understand my perspective so's you can better explain to me why I ought to be upset with proud men.

Sorry I disagree the issue is attitude and respect for the audience you are speaking to . . . Sorry I offended you with my statements. Will avoid that in future.

True confidence is quiet not boastful.

I'm not at all even a little bit offended, I'm curious and tried to make some jokes but I can keep it dry to keep it simple.

An exaggerated self worth attitude is disrespectful to those around you in what way? I don't and never did understand why people get upset at other people bragging on themselves, especially if they follow it up by doing exactly what they'd say they'd do.

I don't call black people monkey out of respect for my audience and knowing the history of the term in reference to them, but, I call all the rest of us monkey all the time, one of my fav's is chittering monkeys climb trees to call themselves tall. I stole it from a kid's show actually, I liked it. So, my point is, I totally understand editing one's speech to deliver a message rather than folk getting hung up on their feelings been hurt, but, that's a fairly easily definable edit.

Pride seems much more like you either feel the offense, and so understand being offended, or you don't feel it and it's an apparently unexplainable. Arrogance makes me feel, and why, totally unexplained through this entire thread despite me directly asking.

So what you’re saying is you had no issues with Floyd’s racist and ****phobic comments towards Manny. That sort of arrogance was perfectly acceptable?

Racism nor ****phobia have anything to do with arrogance. That's just a false equivalency.

I'm not here to defend Floyd, I'm here to figure out why folks get butt hurt when a man brags about himself

It’s not just the bragging. Floyd is beyond any bragging that many fighters do. That is the difference. He isn’t just arrogant.

Yeah he's also a narcissistic ass hole. And if a guy wants to make a thread expressing that, it's his right.

About Jack, being a black man in the early US 20th century, I can understand why one becomes arrogant
                    and adopts a “I don’t care”-attitude.

So you guys (boxing fans) can write articles, threads, and twitter posts demeaning Floyd’s name, calling him and even his family all sorts of names, and you expect him to be pleasant with you? Floyd earned his the hard way. Having beaten top competiton since 1998 coming from nothing and working hard, studying film and training hard.
