Again, try to learn to read pass the quotes and try to view the whole man.
Stop with the ridiculous bs. There were plenty of arrogant boxers. Take your pick. Ali was by far the most arrogant. Just because you declare that it was an act doesn't mean anything. Who are you? The official judge of what's in a person's heart?

Furthermore. The statements you listed by Mayweather seem honest, not arrogant.

legalized bank robbery; -- Yes, it was.

my bank account -- Yes, there is a bank account.

FU don't watch -- Can you give the quotation for this one. I've seen, "Don't watch it." Never seen the FU on it. I just want to know if you're adding more here for special effect.

I'm smarter than you -- Also, never seen this one. I've seen him say, "Because I'm smart," but never addressed quite in this way. Can you give the quotation?

I don't care what people think -- Ok. Why should he? And why should have JJ? His personal life was his personal life. People should have minded their business.

    I m getting richer. -- Facts.

So what is in Mayweather's heart, old wise one? Is it honesty or arrogance?

Read Jabs quote page next to last page for Ali explaining that it was all an act.

All the other qoutes are in the Fox News article on the Fox webpage right now.

The FU is not there it is reflected the tone

I am the one THAT IS ALWAYS SAYING IT IS ABOUT THE MONEY - in my other thread I agreed he should go for it all.

Honesty? Abosultly true but you don't say it out loud.

I don't think we are that far apart on this, on TBE, we just don't trust eachither.

What I'm asking you is why does Ali putting up an act mean that he wasn't arrogant? Obviously he enjoyed putting on a show. So did Jack Johnson, but you are here stating that he was also arrogant. So obviously those two things can coexist.

Wait, so he didn't say FU. You just added that in there yourself? Good work, buddy.

I simply don't see the point of this. Arrogance has always played a part in the makeup of the majority of people who achieve heights in sports. Michael Jordan was an arrogant prick. So was Larry Bird. Roy Jones. James Toney, Bernard Hopkins. Joe Calzhaghe. Any male tennis player at the top of the sport. Probably any female tennis player at the top of the sport (besides my girl Osaka).

I guess it was just a slow day in the history section.

I guess this thread is all about the exhibition that he just had?

The dude straight up said....this is a legal bank robbery....so if you don't want to participate, then don't buy it.

And people are still upset at him??? Like Jab said -- **** him. Just let the man do what he wants to do. Especially when he's being honest and saying exactly what he is doing! lol

All those guys were arrogant about their play not about how rich they were getting; TBE comes across like he is mocking the people paying. Jordan never did that; Jordan made it easy for fans to love him, it was his opponents who thought he was a ****. And yea he was a ****.

Ok to be arrogant to your opponent, yes it part of te game, right from the get go (John L.) but you re suppose to put on a false humbleness for the public. To repeat: Honest? Yes, but your not suspose to say it outloud.

Why do you have to put an insulting final line at the end of evyey post?

Why are people even offended by arrogance in the first place?

How terrible a transgression to believe in one's self and speak as if they believe it.

Bro, he straight up told you not to pay for it. Did you pay for it? I didn't. So I don't see the issue.

An exaggerated sense of self importance . . . Is why.

I think a big part of it is his inferiority complex that he tries to overcompensate for, that insecurity that he wears around his neck and wrists with gaudy bling and a fleet of luxury cars. Always having to prove himself, whether it is among boxing circles or a hotel parking lot making threats towards random strangers. He is absolutely miserable, despite all of his wealth and success. A narcissist who cannot be happy for anyone else and sees anyone else’s success as a direct threat to his fragile ego.

I can’t point to one healthy relationship he had with anyone close to him outside of his crackhead uncle. I’m still convinced he may have played some role in Josie’s death. Maybe a hot shot sold to her that proved to be the lethal dose. She was suing him for $20 million, and in his eyes the reason he went to prison. Never once accepting responsibility or blame for his actions. Now his daughter is the apple that didn’t fall far from the tree. Facing some serious prison time herself. He still surrounds himself with gold-digging whores and yes-men he can pay off. Thinks he can buy his way out of his misery as the shine on his legacy dulls and tarnishes with each passing year.

I can at least excuse Johnson’s arrogance, given the circumstances of being a black champion in the early 1900’s. Not that it excuses some of his more abhorrent behaviors or traits, but most fighters come up the hard way, particularly during the first half of the 20th century. There was no welfare or charity to be found, you literally fought for your next meal.
"A narcissist who cannot be happy for anyone else and sees anyone else’s success as a direct threat to his fragile ego." That pretty much sums Floyd up right there and is why he keeps boxing these exhibitions. He sees Pacquiao has continued his career and added to his much better legacy, so while legacy might not matter to him, attention and publicity does and when an attention junkie like him isn't getting his fix, Floyd has to fight some no name youtube star to get his name back out there to feel relevant again and try to convince himself he isn't the complete joke that he really is.

So he obviously DOES care what people think. Otherwise, he'd stay out of the spotlight and not keep fighting. Or he wouldn't have gotten so annoyed at Larry Merchant in that Ortiz post fight interview. I guess that was also Floyd not caring. Funny how people only say they don't care what people think when negative things are said about them. Kind of inconsistent. Should really go both ways if true.
