    Leo Hauck.

Damn I don't think I have access to those mewspaper. Nothing in the NY Times I could find.

Tunney wasn't big enough in 1920 for The Times.

Getting beat 2 x Tunney, while Dempsey was 31 and 32

      Ducking his #1 challenger Wills

      Not facing Harry Greb

Yet Dempsey is seen as the better? Find me two examples in boxing heavyweight histroy where the loser of two head to head matches that were not commpetive is seen as the better when he was under 33.
The announcer at ringside called the bout even after six rounds. So the bout from his eye witness ringside seat was even after 8 rounds. Also both men were unmarked after round 8 except “welts on Tunney body”.

Dempsey signed to fight wills three times and won the breach of contract lawsuit in 1930.

Dempsey was never offered his going rate to fight Greb. Why? Lack of public interest. It was termed “The Greb Problem”. He was winning at heavyweight but not in spectacular enough fashion to generate interest that a middleweight could beat the most ferocious puncher in boxing history.

To quote one writer “to think Greb would have any chance vs the champion is the next thing from being ridiculous “.

Dempsey ducked Jeff Smith? Smith was a career middleweight.

Dempsey lost the breach of contract suit in 1930. Having to compensate the Chicago AC for monies spent up to the date of his publicly announced 'breach' in July 1926.

The Chicago people wanted $800,000 they got around $1,500.

              Dempsey lost, but he won.

I think Tunney was an incredible fighter. Dempsey was an incredible heavy weight.

I think Tunney was better. No issues with opposite opinions here though.

They were both roughly the same size. Tunney had the edge in reach, 76" vs. 73"

A pitbull can weigh half as much as other dogs, and a wolf... But the way the weight is distributed matters. As a matter of fact a Pitbull does not even have an exceptionally strong bite compared to other dogs used for security purposes... Yet a pitbull is as capable.

Look at Dempsey's wrists, neck, etc... his bone structure, etc. He was physically a heavier body type.

I swear, you guys always always bring this point up and it has been addressed so many times... Look... weight is not the only thing that makes someone big. It is pretty obvious if I am 300 pounds of pure lard, have a "Jsus didn't tap" shirt holding up my belly as it makes sloshing sounds, and pencil legs, no waist as the c r a c k of dawn appears below my belt line, and you compare me because of my weight to Martin Bakole...

Look at Deontay Wilder compared to George Foreman... Wilder may weigh as much, but he damn sure was not solid physically as prime Big George... He has smalleer bones for one thing.

Even our medical system has it s c r e w e d up! They consider obesity based only on weight, so one guy could have low body fat and be pure muscle, the other guy could be pure lard... If they are the same height? they are both considered the same and obese!
