Who could beat a prime George Foreman?

Although most of these would be hypothetical, which list of fighters could be able to beat a prime George Foreman? Keep it 1920- please

Muhammad Ali DID...but the rest of my list I have a hard time thinking of. Sonny Liston is all that comes to mind.

Foreman never impressed me, at least not until he won the title against Moorer. Foreman was slow and had questionable stamina. He did well against fighters who stood in front of him. Best wins prior to Ali loss was Frazier, Chuvalo and Norton. Of those three, one could argue for or against the greatness of Frazier...the other two not so much. I think quite a few HWs stood a chance to beat him if they boxed him wisely or could take him into deep waters. Dempsey, Tunney, Louis, Liston, Holmes, Shavers, Tyson, Mercer, Lewis, Bowe, Holyfield, Vitali, Fury, all have a good chance to win. That doesn't mean they would be the betting favorite to beat him, but each of them had the skill and tools to win if they fought the right fight.

I do know Frazier was the favorite, not sure on the exact odds, I think 3-1. He was still hot from his win over Ali.

Shavers wasn't durable enough IMO to last. But anything can happen when the top guys go head to head. Ditto for Lewis and Wladimir. Mercer impressed me in his performance against Lewis where many felt he won that fight. Being able to handle Lewis’ best punches suggests to me he could handle Foreman’s power. Lewis was a more nuanced fighter IMO. Bowe was at least better than Lyle, and Lyle gave Foreman all he could eat. Bowe was able to grit it out against Holyfield, who I would favor over Foreman. I’m not saying Frazier never impressed me, to the contrary he did, I’m only saying his overall greatness has been argued for and against. Frazier chose to stand in front of Foreman and played right into his hand, literally. He fought the wrong fight in their first go, by the second go he was shot.

I don’t think Wlad could beat him, but I think Vitali would stand a punchers chance.
