It amazes me how all of you call Mayweather a ***** and a coward but everytime a fighter gets an impressive when against another fighter suddenly it would be good if he fights mayweather.....I just don't understand some of the people on here
Be honest, I know what many of you guys thought. So the question that now arises is why will you not give him credit after choosing him to lose, and even get KOed?
I can't lie after seeing what Pavlik did to Edison and Taylor, I thought he was going to wipe the floor with B-Hop. I can remember clearly being in the Casino watching this fight in complete shock because Hopkins not only won he beat the hell out of Pavlik.
Fuck the critics! The fact is Floyd is feather fisted. He always seems to hurt his right hand which his most effective punch comes from. Knocking Oscar out is something I don't see him doing. Hurting his hands by attempting to engage Oscar is something I do see him doing. I watched that round table interview with Floyd and he downed Oscar for fighting Chavez and Pernell when they were both beyond their primes. Well, what the fuck is he doing by fighting Oscar. His best years are surely behind him and yet Floyds saying this is the fight that will stamp his legacy. Stamp it as what? A fighter that finally reached his prime and gets the mainstream watching and walks away with great fights with fighters that are in their prime on the table. Fighters like Cotto, Wright, Paul Williams, come on man. Even if he wins in my opinion he's not the best pound for pound fighter of all-time!!! With that said he's still the best fighter right now with a lot more to accomplish.
I think that Roy would beat GJ this time around maybe even put him down once. Think about it before Saturday his last 2 fights he wasn't throuwing any punches. When he did throw Johnson and Tarver both looked like C fighters because they couldn't come inside or do anything. If Roy preserves his energy and which he will jab and beat Johnson's body he will win a wide decision.
At this present time its Roy. As good as Floyd is right now Roy was better he was untouchable there wasn't a trainer that could come up with a strategy to even win a round against him. Where as Floyd was almost knocked on his ass by Chop-Chop. Although Zab didn't get credit for it he, technically he knocked him down in there fight and, also knocked him across the ring. Regardless of what people say about James Toney condition when they fought, at that time James was what Roy became. The best pound for pound fighter on the planet and he got his handed to him. I don't Floyd has faced an opponent that can be considered on his level.
With that being said, when its all said and done I think you may have to rank Floyd higher than Roy because he has the one thing Roy did not have, big name opposition surrounding him in his weight class. Floyd has the chance to beat Cotto, Hatton, Oscar, Mosely, Williams, and thats on top of the other big names he's already defeated. So prime for prime I'd give it to Roy all day but, career stats and legacy if Floyd stays hungry and true to his word about making the biggest fights he will end up ahead of Roy.
I disagree with you you said Cotto Marg and Hatton have come off of wins and have momentum but you didn't name more than 2 top fighters they defeated. The reason why you didn't because you can't. Mayweather is doing what he should do Margarito needs to fight atleast one named fighter and defeat him impressively. The only fighter with some type of name he's fought has been Cintron. In my opinion PBF is doing what I wish Roy Jones would have done he's using his youth the right way by attempting to make memorable fights. If Judah would have defeated Baldy that their fight would have been promoted as a superfight but Judah was upset. So give the guy a break, I believe PBF and Margarito will fight sometime next year but Marg needs to do his part to make the fight bigger.
I don't agree with u on the williams issue. Margarito will get his ass handed to him by Floyd that wouldn't even be a competitive fight. Hatton fight would be entertaining but, Floyd would get the best of him probably by a wide ud. Punisher Paul is the one I think could actually have a chance to beat Floyd. Not just because of his reach becaue he is a thinking fighter. Thats what it will take to beat Floyd someone who thinks as much as he does in the ring.
We all know DLH is past his prime but lets not forget he can stilll punch like a monster. And I don't care what anybody says if Floyd got rocked and stumbled by chop chop at 140 there is a good chance that he will get caught by Oscar. People tend to forget that, personally I don't believe Floyd has a good chin because chop chop isn't that big of a puncher. Now, Floyd at 140 was devestating Floyd at 147 was not the same fighter to me. Floyd at 154 will be an entirely different ball game. He may win and honestly I believe he will win but Oscar will give him hell and he may even go down once or twice. Especially if he injures that right hand.
Thats my point for right amount of money he would and the money would be right for this rematch. The only reason why HBO offered so little for the rematch earlier this year is because they were both coming off of L's. Now that Hop beat Tarver and if Jones wins in July they would offer major cake for this match.
I'm sorry boxing needs to back as one of the premier sports. I mean you never hear about boxing on around the horn, PTI etc. The only way to bring in commercial fans is if fights are made between stars. Two fights in my opinion that could do that for boxing this year Oscar vs Floyd and B-Hop vs Jones imagine what that would do for Golden Boy Promotions
Because he knows that he didn't beat hopkins and now he's facing another fighter who's defensive minded but he isn't as old as Hop and he knows there is a chance he'll get his ass handed to him.
I disagree with you. Obviously JT does respect Winky getting Emanuel for a trainer speaks volumes on that issue. Taylor might outpunch Winky excuse me I mean he might out swing Winky but. Wrights connects at the end of the night will out weigh Taylors misses.
Fuck Tito Oscar took his ass to school the last time they fought regardless of the fact that he coasted the last round or two. If he beat Tito people wouldn't respect it because they're both older. Don't get me wrong I would love to see Oscar beat the shit out of Tito but I would be more interested in seeing him fight Floyd. Felix doesn't deserve to sit around then just come back and fight the top fighters he hasn't done shit in years but beat up a fake middlewieht Mayo.
Besides this is nothing but a ploy by Don King to keep Oscar and Floyd from fighting because Tito is his fighter. He's pissed off that the decision didn't get overturned in the Zab/Floyd fight. Now he's like the devil tempting Oscar with the forbidden fruit which is rematch against Tito. Oscar should fight PBF and if he wins then face Tito.
As I said in first line of my post Fuck Tito
Don't compare Joppy to Taylor, shit Winky Wright beat the shit out of Tito all night with jab if I remember correctly he had him bloody very bloody and Taylor's jab is stronger than Wrights and he's a power puncher so please tell me how Tito could beat him? You all just need to give it up Tito had his day of winning because his hands were overtaped and once B-Hop exposed him for not the overtaping and not being able to beat a true boxer he hasn't been shit since
Get it right muthfuckas
This would be excellent I don't either would knock each other out. Simply because they both try so hard to avoid getting hit, if this were ever to happen this would be the best fight of our generation. Its rare that we see two fighters with that type of speed and power face each other. I actually hope this fight happens but I don't think any one would get knocked out.
People seem to underestimate Judah's defense. He has great defense its just he begins to act like a fucking idiot clowning he lets his guard down and gets caught. In a fight of this magnitude I don't think he would clown he would be as serious like we've never seen him.
Besides the fact that I'm not a Spinks lover, in my opinion he didn't win the first fight it was a draw. That was the first fight where I ever saw Judah adjust in a fight. The first few rounds Spinks was winning win Judah figured out what he doing, he started clowning Spinks. He became so relaxed in the fight he started acting like a asswhole, and got caught. Now this time if he stays foucused he will beat him easily and if the opportunity presents himself he's going to stretch his ass.
Tarver got his ass twisted bottomline. I could understand his reasons if for the first 5 rounds he came out and made the competitive and then in the later rounds fell off. That wasn't the case he looked horrible from the opening bell not because he trained to hard but because he was facing the best defensive fighter other than floyd and got schooled.
You guys are ****in idiotic with some of your comments just because The Ghost beat up on Berto does not mean hes going beat up on Floyd...Look at what Ortiz did to Berto and look at what Floyd did to Ortiz...The Ghost has no defense and he is a sucker for right hands which by the way is one of Floyd's best punches...This fight may be competitive from an activity stand point but in the end Floyd will make a fool out this dude
