Johnson responds to Jones challenge!
Former Light Heavyweight Champion Glen Johnson tells Roy Jones Jr to be ready to step into the ring by the end of 2006, if he is serious about a rematch. Roy Jones Jr made it abundantly clear in a recent interview, that he wants Glen Johnson, and he wants him next. Keep in mind that Johnson still has his upcoming fight against current IBF Light Heavyweight Champion, Clinton Woods.
I see the Jones - Johnson fight playing out much like Jones-Tarver III. Roy Jones Jr. does not have enough left to beat someone, like Tarver or Johnson, who has not had a career collapse and can only hope to survive. I see Roy getting hurt, entering survival mode, and doing his best not to get knocked out. He won't have enough confidence to try to win when he sees that Johnson is out to pressure and hurt him, Roy will fall back into his shell, and Johnson will either knock him out again or win a unanimous desicion.
I think Jones lost the skills he once had as a p4p fighter and should further pursue a rapping career..Mind you he has no skills in that either but that isnt criteria for being succesful in that field.
That's why he should just keep producing for BHB ;)
I think that Roy would beat GJ this time around maybe even put him down once. Think about it before Saturday his last 2 fights he wasn't throuwing any punches. When he did throw Johnson and Tarver both looked like C fighters because they couldn't come inside or do anything. If Roy preserves his energy and which he will jab and beat Johnson's body he will win a wide decision.
i see roy winning this fight. he will know what GJ is going to do. it will be no secret that anyone he faces is going to go right after him. he is going to train for the bullrush. just bc he lost 3 fights everyone thinks he is done. i agree he didnt show the foot speed of the old RJJ but he was landing whenever he felt like it saturday night. come on not alot of boxers can do that. all im saying is i really think if roy is for real he can beat GJ bc he is going to train for the bullrush.
lmfao...
Watch RJJ say he's so serious for this fight again then fuck up.
I lost all my respect for RJJ after that 3rd Tarver fight, he gave the impression that he had never trained so hard for a fight EVER...and how he got his father in his corner...
RJJ will get KTFO again....thank god...
Just shows what an incredible fighter he was in his prime at 100%
Wrong again...
All that shows is that the guys he fought in his prime were either shot or bums that were never skilled in the first place.
Its a damn shame Roys 30% the fighter he used to be. But it may just be enough to keep him at top level for a short while ;)

Going after Calzaghe would be worst than going after Johnson. Calzaghe would mount the same pressure as Johnson did but worst because he is younger and fresher.
Calzaghe or Johnson is a bad matchup for Jones stylistically, Amaju looked decent the first round with pressure and actually had me on my seat but he tanked...That wont happen w/ Calzaghe or Johnson.
Roy wont have the chance to stand back he will get slammed on the ropes and it will be a repeat.

roy would easily beat him in a rematch...just dance and kill his stiff ass
i keep hearing about Jones getting pressured and folding up, the fact is if he can get his speed and footwork back to atleast 80% of what it was i dont see him getting beat or beat that badly by either Calzaghe or Johnson, i would prefer a fight with Johnson first but would still put my money on Roy beating either one, and the reason i say this is becuz i dont think Roy is fighting to lose these days, and all three of his recent losses HONESTLY IMO had some great REASONING behind them!
I still think Roy is that dude and i saw glimpses of it in a fight that i think he could have won by TKO or KO had he not been tryin to get rounds in and fighting a "C" performance fight!
The problem is Jones only gets to fight like that when fighters arent willing to trade or come inside and be agressive. That is how he won fights throughout his career everyone was afraid to come inside.
For a fighter like Jones you have to get inside and pressure him non-stop. Johnson and Calzaghe are very capable of doing so, because neither fighter is afraid to take a punch or take a few to get inside.
And also i would bet on Roy against Johnson no doubt but would atleast have to see him fight 1-2 fights before i actually put a pretty penny on him in a calzaghe fight!
The only reason you say that shit is because you're an imitation Roy. Realize this, kid, your opinion means shit. You're biased because that's your motherfucking idol.
P.S. No offense, but it's the truth.
haha if your talking to me man you can suck a cows left testicle and let him eat your shit, however the reason im saying this is not becuz Roy happens to be my 2nd fav boxer of all-time but rather he dominated the sport for almost a decade and i wont let 3 mizzle fights cloud my judgment as they have done yours and i guarentee a thousand other fans who would before the 1st Tarver fight bet there left kidney and a pile of rocks that the guy would beat anyone 160-205 ;)
