yea he kind of did but manny used angles and didn't back str8 up, cotto boxed well but continued to let margs pressure back him into corners and against the ropes where marg has the ability to put his good body punchin to work
i think he took more damage then they should've allowed him to take, i was mad his trainer said he didn't consider stoppin the fight marg was takin a brutal beatin and towards the end it just made no sense for him to continue in the fight, now of course some fighters have 2 much pride 2 quit but its the trainers job to save the fighter from dat kind of foolish pride, (the kind of fights marg has been in wit cotto, mosley, and now pac ruins fighters indefinitely)
i agree wit some people on here marg is not shot, he fought the same as he always does he just made the mistake of thinkin pac didn't have the power to hurt him..great fight but not surprising ur not gonna win against pac if u don't use ur legs as part of ur defense, if u just stand there and cover up its gonna be a long night of waitin to time a guy whos just 2 fast
i'm able to give him some credit for the win over jmm becuz of how easy he made it look, remember jmm was considered a top 5 p4p fighter at the time based on his performances against pac (2 close great fights) but he still schooled em to the point where jmm was missin wit almost every punch he tried 2 land, the disapointment in dat fight is while it appeared to be so easy he didn't look to stop em
i give pac all the credit in the world for beatin these guys, i'm just not a fan of title fights being fought at catchweights if ur gonna fight for the title, y look to have the advantage of making ur opponent work dat much harder to lose the weight, i believe he should've fought these guys at the weight limit the title belongs in, even if he feels it puts him at a disadvantage(even though i still believe he would beat these guys) it would make those victories that much sweeter for him becuz the common excuse (he was weight drained) wouldn't be acceptable
i think he needs a few more fights before he gets thrown in with any serious threat, from wat i've seen he starts his fights kind of slow, and in the 1st round of the cotto fight he allowed the smaller mans pressure to push him back in a str8 line, if i were trainin him nd i knew he was a slow starter i'd work on makin his jab strong so it could be a key weapon early and add some movement so that he doesn't find his back so close to the ropes, in closing i believe he has all the weapons to live up to the hype he's a pretty strong guy, he just needs some minor work b4 i consider his set of skills world class
i would say money mayweather while his don't bring the power he still is more accurate and 9 times outta ten u make a mistake in front of may he will counter nd land flush, while in donaires case he can get a little bit predictable with the counter left hook nd i've seen fighters survive a few rounds while he was tryin to time it, i think donaires the bigger puncher by far but the best counter puncher in the game right now had to be floyd in my opinion
i think barrera beats him still, he had great technique he wasn't the fastest or the slickest fighter but his timing was perfect, picked his spots attacked well with combinations watchin barrera at his best was fun, u could just see him studyin his opponent and usin his good jab early then attackin to the body nd head
this dudes always cryin about something and since becoming a heavyweight he hasn't given his fans the pleasure of seeing his skills put to use against a real heavyweight contender, let him retire f*** em this sport has enough loud mouth
cowards afraid to take a loss
cotto gets in hes fought in 3 different weight classes and has picked up major titles in all 3, judah @ one point was the undisputed welterweight king so given he pulls a good string of victories together and grabs another championship belt he'll be in there, martinez could get in he was a belt holder @ 154 and now 160 but he needs to take out some of the others @ 160 by cleanin out anyone who could be considered comp @ 160 he gets closer to the HOF and puts Chavez Jr. in a position where he'd have to fight him....
i have floyd by decision...alvarez isn't busy enough his defense was good 2night but trouts hand speed and mayweathers no comparison...i like canelo but he'd have to make it tough for mayweather bell to bell..if u take a break in the middle of a round wit mayweather and play str8 defense he will pick u apart with his hand speed and find somewhere to land using faints
rios looked bad last night wrong game plan if he would of turned just a little like Juan Diaz used to do on the inside he would've had a better target to hit abril is gonna make any inside fight who can't jab his way in and throw a straight punch look bad cuz he so dam skinny dat said i thought abril won the fight and its sad to see someone get robbed in this sport after they've put in the hard work to prepare for the fight and executed their game plan......for those saying marquez will beat rios that i already knew but it will look nothin like this fight marquez stance and body type will give rios a target to hit and the fact dat marquez under all his technical greatness has the heart of a mexican warrior he will not hold or shy away from exchanging punches with rios which is where he will hurt rios the most with his faster more precise punching
i had pascal only winning 4 of the scheduled 12 rounds, after the first four rounds he started fading and lettin hopkins outwork him i gave hopkins a close decision, the draw sucks but its justified by the knockdowns still i don't see a decision in pascals favor
judah has a great uppercut but i fear he won't be able to use it much khans gonna use his height and reach to avoid those kind of punches, my prediction is khan will only get close enough to land some good combos of his own then quickly move out of harms way for the first five or six rounds than later in the fight he'll slowly start makin judah move backwards when he feels he has the advantage, im pullin for judah to win this so im hopin he can slip in some nice counters when khan attacks because khan does get a little sloppy when throwin in combination
it was a slow fight but i wasn't all that bored since there was a knockdown early i was just waiting for rigo to open up and attack a bit more but i dont think he'll ever be the fighter fans love to watch he'll be more like the guy fighters avoid becuz he'll make u look bad and beat u.....with that said ramos fought way 2 scared his nerves took him out of the fight way b4 rigo did...i look forward to seeing the new champion in with more seasoned fighters
War Lucas hopeing for a ko win so we can see Maidana vs Matthysse
i never even thought of matchin the two but now dat u mention it dat would be a great fight to watch, i'd like to give the edge to maidana in dat one but i think its just me bein biased because i haven't seen enough of lucas' fights to feel any kinda way about em
i disagree i think marquez was the smartes, cotto knew wat he had to do which was box and when paq touched him good he decided to trade which got him put down and from there it went downhill, shane can cause trouble for paq which is why i give him a chance dat he can stop paq early but if he doesn't its over for him,
i had it even, lee won the early rounds but still u could see he was in trouble his jab couldn't keep chavez off him and he didn't turn chavez he walked str8 back into the ropes and corners where some really nice body shots were taking his legs....i admit i didn't think much of chavez jr a couple fights ago but always watched his fights cuz its fun to watch a big guy go on the inside with fighters and make it fight..but i am very impressed with his progress
old-cry-baby marquez brags again...cheato has not kissed the canvass even once...old-cry-baby marquez kissed the canvass four times with manny...and now he's criticizing cheato's loss when they both loss to pacquiao...marquez would have mirrored barrera's remarks...
marquez still got up from them knockdowns to put up some very good fights, 2 fights one ending in a draw and the other a SD, marg while he didn't hit the canvas got his ass whipped thoroughly and the fight could've been stopped at any moment in the later rounds, with exception to the 1st round of the first fight wit pac u can't say the same bout marquez, (i consider marquez the better mexican warrior of the two, when he takes a big shot he's always eager to respond wit something big himself and it shows in his body language when he's in the ring)
