after readin the posts on here regarding the demo, my expectations went down but i gotta say after playing the demo I AM HYPED FOR THIS GAME!!!! the punch control is fluid, the fighters react much more realistically to shots. THE BULLSHIT PARRY IS GONE!!!:D:D. plus the roster looks stacked, a lot of great match-ups r gonna be made lol.
only negative i can say is the footwork is poor, its very hard to stay away and maneuver around the ring. im pre-ordering this asap.

u make a valid statement but i think that cotto boxed the perfect fight except for one thing he NEVER EVER NOT ONCE IN THE ENTIRE FIGHT discouraged margarito from walkin him down. he needed to stand his ground at least once in the fight and MAKE SURE he hurt margarito to put him off walkin in leanin forward. had cotto been able to discourage margarito he would have been able to pull out the decision. that bein said the way margarito remained calm, composed and totally focused on the game plan was admirable. he reminded me so much of julio cesar chavez last nite!

I mean, really? A lot of people say JMM had him on queer street in the 2nd fight but IMO even the huge left hook that he landed on Pac's chin only stunned him and he looked fine within a second.
Both JMM and Morales landed some flush shots on him but even if they had him backing up, I don't think he was hurt by any of them. Never saw his legs unsteady, his eyes glazed over, etc.
So I must ask, when was the last time YOU saw Pac seriously hurt, as in being in danger of getting stopped or KO'd? (there is no definitive answer btw)

Well I think some fighters care more than others about proving themselves as the best and beating better opponents, but money's always going to be a factor in choice of opposition. Even when Shane Mosley fought Winky Wright, it wasn't like "oh I'm going to give this guy a big fight out of the kindness of my heart and to prove to everyone I can beat a very good difficult opponent". Mosley's pride and ego wouldn't allow him to accept less than 50% of the purse for a 3rd De La Hoya fight, and then he was supposed to fight Mayorga. But Mayorga lost to Spinks, and Winky was the 3rd option.
In regards to fighters not caring less, it's tough to compare their mindsets. Maybe some fighters today learned from the likes of Robinson and Louis who ended up broke and decided to steer their careers more carefully. Perhaps there is a decrease in pride nowadays. Or maybe it's just the circumstances of the times. I have little doubt that Robinson, who was a nightmare to negotiate with, and freely admitted he didn't enjoy the sport and saw it as a business, would be enjoying a nice HBO contract right now, fighting about twice a year, making the best business decisions.
