Best Welterweight Trio: Our Era vs. 80's Era

SRL vs. PBF -- SRL 15 round SD Duran vs. Cotto -- Duran TKO w/in 4 Hearns vs. Mosley -- Hearns 15 round UD I think PBF is the only one that can beat any of the 80' welters, I'd take him over Duran and Hearns, but SRL is a legend. lol bro PBF is good......but him beatin duran and hearns lol be serious

Ok, who were the couple who put Team 2? C'mon, on up. :lol1: Sometimes people think too much emphasis is placed on the slightly older eras and that the guys of today are just as good....but, it just isn't true. The first Team would beat the second one really quite easily. First of all, the only guy that would beat Tommy would be Leonard...even that would a three out of five match up. Leonard would beat Mayweather...actually Leonard would beat all of them...actually, all of the first team would beat all of the second team. my favorite welter era was the 90s too, dela hoya, quartey and trinidad, count whitaker in, who lost a close decision to DLH. 90s vs 00s WBC: Dela hoya over Mayweather by decision WBA: Quartey over Cotto by decision IBF: lets say Margarito beats Cintron come April 12th. Trinidad by KO over Margarito. In No Part of De La Hoya Career would he beat Mayweather... IF he couldnt beat Floyd when he Had all the Adv. What makes you think he would beat Floyd when thay both at 147 equally....

For example: You could use the 2001 version of 147 Shane Mosley.. thats still out era...** You could put Wilfried Benitez in team 80 as well. He was probably the most gifted of them all. He just didnt prepare. Without no more than a weeks prep. he took Leonard 15 rounds and giving him hell. With proper training he might have been the greatest of them all. But with Benitez or without, team 80 wins a shut-out IMO.

I just wanted to really put it in perspective.. i aways hear how deep our ww division is... but it doesnt even hold a candle... even floyd might not beat leanord Its tought to compare the too because the older WW's fought at lighter weights. You could literally match those guys up against todays jrWW's and LW's. 24-36 prefight weigh-in's would allow them all to drop a Minimum of one weight class. Now imagine the jrMW's and MW's of that era against todays WW's and you'll see an truly loopsided picture. Hagler vs Cotto-PBF-Margarito.........no contest.......shit Hagler would fold Paul Williams like a folding chair.

Floyd and Shane(in his prime) are the only ones who would stand a chance against the welters of the 80's. I doubt Cotto could beat any of the guys up there unless he was able to catch Hearns with something big lol. They would stomp/or make look foolish Williams, Margarito,etc.
