First of all Congrats to Antonio Margarito:You_Rock_....you one bad ass mofo!!
Cotto's undoing came in training camp.....he and his trainer/uncle are having problems getting along with each other, on the HBO countdown show someone even said Miguel would train himself sometimes while his uncle just watched to make sure he was doing something.....sometimes they didn't even speak to each other while Miguel would work-out....thats not the type of relationship a world class fighter should have with his trainer....Cotto had Plan A last night....thats it!!! he used a plan B to get by Sugar Shane, but didn't have one for Antonio Margarito:confused:....I blame his team for not properly preparing Miguel for what was coming....Miguel got to this level by investing left hooks to the body, but last night he went head hunting and NEVER mounted a body attack:confused:....he was suppose to stay true to who Miguel Cotto is and not try to put on some type of Roy Jones or Floyd Jr. type display....Margarito won because he didn't change his stripes...Cotto the more talented fighter lost because he DID change his srtipes and that blame should fall on the shoulders of those in charge of preparing the fighter for combat....Everybody got their own theory or opinion....and EVERYBODY is welcome to share'em here.....
cotto lost because marg is a busy bitch. Cotto has never faced anything like Marg ever. It wasn't because of his uncle and all this bullshit. He lost because cotto can't take 12 rounds of constant punching.
He had no choice but to brawl cuz Tony made him brawl. He wasn't ill prepared or some shit, he knew what Tony was gonna do. He just couldn't stop him once Tony got on a roll.
Cotto really lost because of Marg's mini mullet which gave him the power to beat Cotto. JK. But ya, Cotto didn't seem like the boxer I thought he was going to be last night. Big ups to Margarito. He seemed way more determined to win the fight than Cotto.
yes he came with the red headband that chavez always uses
u know to scare away the ghosts from the past
at the end chavez sr hugged margarito and told him he felt like he was watching his son fightthat must have been a great moment to have your idol say that to u
Chaves Jr. sucks shaved monkey nuts.
Just kidding. :boxing:
Ever had to carry a country on your back while another man was digging in your ass?
...the feeling ain't pleasant.
Thank you.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda.
Miguel, no doubt, may have been affected by his estranged relationship with his uncle, but I'm certain he left all that back at home with all the other concerns, and came into the ring with one mission:
To give it his all for the fans, and go home victorious by beating a tough opponent.
Everyone got to see the size of his heart until the very end, when he just couldn't continue despite what his head and his corner kept telling him to do.
His body and will chose to take a different route is all. :boxing:
Cotto was throwing some left hooks to the body, you guys are crazy about this.
Margarito had solid defense for his body, but weak defense for his head, thats why he went headhunting.
yea i clocked this aswell. u kno marg must hav spent alot of time in da gym workin on his defence for cotto's body attack

u make a valid statement but i think that cotto boxed the perfect fight except for one thing he NEVER EVER NOT ONCE IN THE ENTIRE FIGHT discouraged margarito from walkin him down. he needed to stand his ground at least once in the fight and MAKE SURE he hurt margarito to put him off walkin in leanin forward. had cotto been able to discourage margarito he would have been able to pull out the decision. that bein said the way margarito remained calm, composed and totally focused on the game plan was admirable. he reminded me so much of julio cesar chavez last nite!
Chavez was ring side doing commentary for Mexican television....I bet his presence inspired Tony!
