Mercado and the results speak for thereself. We can talk about the altitude amd things of that nature but the truth is Hopkins still finished VERY strong that fight after getting dropped the 2nd time. Personally I thought Hopkins eeked it out.
Tomas Rojas also gave penalosa troubles... that fight is so close you can score it to rojas..
I don;t see how anyone could give Rojas 6 rounds in that fight. he did put up a good fight though. I thought Penalosa won by a couple points.
.....
Penalosa-Arce is a tough fight to call either way. If Penalosa's win over Gonzalez was lucky, then Arce's win over Rojas was lucky because he was well behind when landing a big bodyshot. As for Arce-Penalosa, Arce would take the fight to Penalosa. The fight would be decided by if Penalosa could discourage him with good counterpunches.
.....
If Sosa can't dissuade Trejo he will have a real hard fight. Looking through Sosa's record he has had some close fights with pressure fighters and that is what Trejo does best.
my man Valdosta. When did you start posting over here? (at least regularly)
Not to regularly but I think when Pavlik and Miranda were supposed to fight and I talked a lot of shit to a poster named Pantera.
.....
Escalante took a good right hand about halfway through the round but did some great bodywork. he wins that round to. he's just working more. Missing a good bit but still landing more because he throws way more.
I seen the fight 3 times. I would find it hard pressed to give abraham even 5 rounds. I dont know aht fight you've seen.
Good for you. I have the fight on DVD and have watched it a few times. Abraham won get over it.
Losers are always the fighters who talk about would have, could have, should have. Abraham won the fight despite Miranda's dirty tactics, get over it. yes it would have been a robbery if Miranda got the decision.
More like rabbit punches in the first clip & Abraham was caught with a counter left by Miranda in the second clip.
I agree the first clip was rabbit punches but that left hook in the 2nd picture clearly did not land from Miranda. Regardless, I can't see giving Miranda more than 7 rounds (at the most), he lost fair and square. They certainly took to much time in round 5 but then again Miranda had just intentionally fouled Abraham anyways.
There were no other options for Pavlik. HBO said it is this fight or nothing. His management should have been stepping him up slowly over the past few years. It's there own damn fault he is jumping from playground to the pros overnight. He will be KO'd within 3 rounds. He is just too damn easy to hit and can't run like Green did.
Didn't need to run did he? He walked Miranda down and beat his ass. :boxing:
Wow and Kelly is on such an impressive KO streak. Can he find a few more older welterweights to beat up on??? Willie Gibbs would KO all those bums!
Willie Gibbs the guy who couldn't even beat Raymond Joval or Daniel Edouard? LMAO!! I can't wait for Pavlik to leave Miranda in a pool of his blood face down. Pavlik's straight right hand is going to bash Miranda.
Keep telling yourself that when Pavlik knocks him out. Miranda is a good puncher but not great. He never really wobbled Abraham despite breaking his jaw. He did stop EAstman but that was SEVERAL punches not 1. WTF were you watching? EAstman is pretty much washed up anyways. He struggled even with Evans Ashira. Gubbs? Yeah he has a glass jaw. Abraham won fair and square whether or not anyone likes it or not. Miranda isn't the killler that a lot of you wish he was.
Why is it everytime I read a very pro Pavlik quote and I look to the left I see these are the same guys that just signed up here at BS. I guess these country folks from Youngstown have nothing better to do and all all excited a boy from their hometown is trying to make some noise. They are about to find out the only noise he is gonna make is when his bid bald head smacks hard into the canvas!
Just signed up? I signed up at the end of 2006. I have a lot of posts at a couple other places. Unlike you I actually know a shitload about a lot of different fighters. Not to mention I am not from Ohio. I will get great pleasure out of seeing Pavlik bash the shit out of your shit talking hero.

Your comprehension of your own post is so far off you that don't even know what you implied. Comparing Mosley's situation at LW with Pavlik's at Middle is not only flawed, it's downright stupid. Mosley was ALREADY A CHAMPION. He DEFENDED is title about 7 TIMES ALL BY KO. Mosley was ALREADY considered a top 10 P4P fighter BEFORE he fought DLH. Pavlik is a not only untested, he's an unknown, not a champion, has feasted on Jr. Middle's, & his comp hasn't been good enough to guage how good he really is. Their situations are TOTALLY different because you had one boxer who was already recognized as a top fighter.
Once again, what elite fighter had Mosley fought going into the ODLH fight? Having a title and beating a bunch of nobodies means nothing to me. ODLH had fought FARRRRRRRR better competition than Mosley. Period. it's not a debate, discussion or anything else. It's a fact.
Told you assholes. Pavlik didn't leave him in a pool off blood he only beat his ass and closed his eyes. Take that Miranda hype and shove it up your ass. LMAO @ the title of this thread.
