In his first fight at super middleweight, Edison Miranda (29-2, 25 KOs) stored a fifth round stoppage of Henry Porras (33-7-1, 25 KOs) on Tuesday night at the Seminole Hard Rock LIVE Arena in Hollywood, Florida. Referee Frank Santore waved it off after Miranda unloaded a powerful barrage of punches. Time was 2:45.
I completely stole this from another site..... Yeah.
anyone who saw this fight did miranda step up his over all technical game or did he pretty much just go for the kill from the bell?
was he winning up to the stoppage?
He was winning every round.
Miranda barely even went for the huge shots, very surprising and controlled, not the Miranda everyone expected I guess.
Good stuff, cause Miranda didn't even have to turn it up, still won every round, still outboxed his opponent, got a chance and got a stoppage.
He needs to learn a few more skills before stepping back in with Pavlik. Heck, even against Taylor and Abraham, he'll need to add a new dimension to his overall skills.
I didn't see the figth. But, what if he learned from the Pavlik fight, not to rely on his power... and he just turned into this amazing fighter, with the power to finish any work his skills created. That'd be.... A HUGE TURN-AROUND. I'm not saying it will, or wont, for that matter.. I just like thinking of how crazy shit liek that would be.
He's an exciting fighter, in and out of the ring.. so I hope hedoes well for himself in the new division.
Once Kelly Pavlik cleans out the Middleweight Division he will come up to SMW and destroy Miranada again. Calzaghe,Kessler,Bute and Froch would also destroy Miranda. Miranda will be fine if he stays away from the 5 whiteboys I just mentioned.

Pantera was very controlled and won every round before the stoppage. He worked behind a nice jab and setup his shots. Moved around nicely. I was very impressed with his 'skills' and how he did not just rely on the power.
i wanna see that fight, how would i be able to watch that?
It will be replayed on most regional networks starting in a couple of weeks (MSG, SUN) and also on the HD-Net station.
are you joking ??
I agree, Im more of a miranda fan then Kes or Clazaghe, but Miranda is way to wild to think he can win verse those dudes, miranda would most likly get his ass beat.
Edison looked very good at this weight. He looked more muscular and natural. His punches seemed to land even harder. Porras has a good chin and took some clean shots and surprisingly he was able to stay on his feet.
Pantera was very patient. He actually boxed and moved around very well. His defense seemed to have improved as he dodged most of what Porras had and came away looking pretty clean. Obviously this area is still a concern and I hope he continues to work on it.
I hope he steps it up and fight a top 5 guy next. I think he can beat any of the nonchamps right now. I heard Jan or early Feb there is an ESPN or possibly HBO show Warriors is looking at for this type of fight.
Long time no hear Pantera. It's been a while. I didn't see the fight but I hope I'll be able to catch it this week sometime. I'm glad he's working on some things to improve as a figher. If he can better his defense & learn better technique when he punches he could be even more danherous than what he is.
