Maybe Pacquiao's handlers is just letting Marquez feel what Pacman felt when he turned down an immediate rematch of their first fight and opted to fight Chris John for a much smaller payday in which he lost by decision. But i definitely think the 3rd fight is a sure thing if they win their respective fights this year.
Even if Marquez knocks out PBF which is highly unlikely and assuming Pacman wins over Cotto a 60/40 split is the best he will get a deal with Pacquiao because if he insists on a 50/50 split the fight would definitely not happen and Pacquiao will fight Mosley instead who is willing to receive 60/40, because even if Pacquiao is willing to fight Marquez a 50/50 split with Marquez would definitely be unacceptable to the ever money minded Arum and Pacquiao advisers.

This fight isn't even main event material because aside from belt on the line theres nothing more to offer the fans it's definitely a mismatch the quality of Donaire's opponent isn't even the least interesting. This fight should just have been an undercard to Pacquiao vs Cotto showdown which would do more good to Donaire than be on a main event card that wouldn't interest non hardcore boxing fans.

SM is baiting the top 2 cash cows of boxing to a weight he can easily make a a weight that would considerably slow down pacman and pbf. SM is hoping that he would have a great chance of winning at this catchweight hes just 5'10 to 5'11 antonio margarito was 5'11" and admitted he was not drained and comfortably made 150 so its gonna be easy for SM to get to 155 as dibella said SM is not a big boned MW. Im a maidana fan in terms of power hes only second in my list behind edwin valero when the warrior was still alive... i knew he was the harder puncher against the golden boy hyped ortiz and i knew golden boy made a mistake of putting victor in the ring with maidana because maidana's only loss then was an opposition hometown split decision to kotelnik and he had an amazing 26-1 with 25ko record which i dont know why gbp overlooked. When the fight with amir khan was being talked about i thought then maidana will definitely knock amir out .... but after watching amir fight malinaggi and toyed with him with his lightning fast power jabs i realized roach changed the way amir fights and had greatly improved his speed and power... so by the time the fight with maidana finalized i had a different view of it already even though im still a fan of maidana i think amir's fight style will put him in a disadvantage as i really believe maidana will be throwing power punches in the air and missing amir's chin early in the fight and at the same time maidana will be swallowing those power jabs that amir used against malinaggi that even a fast fighter like mallinaggi was unable to avoid... and by the middle or late in the fight maidana who has a durable chin... will be able to survive the khan power jabs but due to frustration and knowing hes behind in points he will be carelessly throwing much weaker bombs in search for a ko and in doing that he will be caught by a khan power punch coming in.
Cotto beat Foreman while Martinez beat Pavlik and Williams... so i guess Cotto should give martinez a break and let him have the percentage he's asking for and if he beats Martinez then he can have the right to be a hardliner on his demands. I love this fight to push through and the winner gets to have a shot at vengeance with margarito.
Cotto's only chance is to land a solid hit to Pacquiao's chin early in the fight if not Pacquiao would definitely wear down Cotto like what he did to Dela Hoya barring all excuses.
Donaire is already made for bigtime fights and should be fighting solid stars by now he is ranked top 10 p4p there are a lot of superstars out there willing to fight fellow stars. Top Rank is not exerting enough effort to promote Donaire if no one is willing to fight Donaire at super flyweight then they should look at higher weights i can name a lot of stars there including juanma caballero arce agbeko etc. I hope this is the last time Top Rank will give Donaire an unknown fighter with a bad fight record so Nonito's popularity will rapidly multiply at every fight he will win with a star fighter.
Donaire can go up to as high as 147 with his height and his power i think is capable of matching those of in the ww division. If Martinez cant lure the top 2 p4p to his comfort zone of 155 then he should seek to revenge his loss against Margarito at 160.
