"He shouldn’t have had to think about what I done." - This. Joshua fought uncharateristically reckless and I had a feeling it's because he wanted to 1up Wilder's recent KO. Probably felt pressured to have a highlight reel win, among many other things. Social pressure. Who do you think wins the rematch?
Canelo is 0.3 inch (1cm) taller than him. Same Ortiz. Does it count? I mean... you think of Pacquiao.. he has fought people that was three inches or more taller than him. You think of Matthysse, Broner, Martinez... they all fought people a few inches taller than him.
Why is mayweather never taking that risk and avoiding fighters that are taller than him by a few inches? he only agreed to fight dela hoya but he was wasted already and about to retire.
Diego Corrales was much taller (standing at 5'11"), undefeated, and considered an animal at the time. Mayweather dropped him like 5 times.
Floyd
Marquez - No.2 P4P, floyd coming off a 21 month break, a good warm up against a name opponent, it was meant to bulid to a pac fight
Hatton - Undefeated, highly rated opponent at the time, fighting at a more comfortable weight for hatton, many people thought he could win at the time
De la Hoya - Fought him at 154, again another comfortable weight for oscar, past prime but still dangerous as you said many thought he could win
Baldomir- yes limited opponent but everyone was questioning why he wasnt facing the guy who beat judah, i rememeber brian kenny blasting floyd for this so he did and beat him
Judah - this was already organised before he fought baldo, he went through with it anyway still a good fight against a dangerous opponent
Marquez: Some warm-up. Floyd forced Marquez to move up 2 weight classes, and STILL disrespectfully came in 2 lbs over the weight limit. Not only was Floyd at his comfortable weight, he forced Marquez to move up about 10 lbs in weight limit, and he still outweighed him by 4 lbs at the weigh in.
Hatton: Actually Floyd was fighting at his comfortable weight, not Hatton. He forced Hatton to come up to 147 lbs when Hatton's natural weight was 140.
De La Hoya: Only real "sacrifice" Floyd made to win a legit fight. DLH was game, Floyd moved up in weight to fight, but Floyd ran all effin night. I still think DLH won...
Baldomir: Worth shit.
Judah: Worth shit. 4 rd fighter. No heart.
Gatti: Entertaining, but always been a C-class fighter. Been schooled by every decent fighter he met.
So please get your fact straights if defending Mayweather. Tell it like it was.
Lesson of the day: If Mayweather would have just faced a prime Cotto, just like Pacman did, maybe he would have shut most of us up, just like Pacman did. Margarito would have been part of this argument, if it wasn't for his plastered-cheating ways.
Paul Williams lost to Sergio Martinez. lol at anybody who thinks that PWILl and FLOYD Mayweather can even be compared.
!!!Laugh all you want at me now!!!:
Martinez can school Mayweather and give him a run for his money. If a shot De la Hoya (standing 5'10") was able to get the best of Mayweather for a few rounds (which was a split decision), what would a Martinez (standing at 5'10") be able to do to him?
Martinez is too quick, too sharp, southpaw, and has some pop to his punches. Martinez was smaller than Pavlik AND Williams, and still got the best of them. He'd be bigger than Floyd, giving him an edge. Williams got the nod against Martinez though, but Williams can also give Mayweather a run for his money.
...and do you know why I think this is all true? Because you will never see Mayweather fight Martinez or Williams.
To Floyd's credit, we are jumping many weight divisions here if we say he would never face these guys. Martinez is a 154 lber though, and Floyd fought DLH at 154... Not impossible, just not plausible. Might as well say Pacman would never fight Vitali.
na man, cotto gasses out towards the end, usually not always. remember marg took cotto's BEST shots. u gonna say his chin was loaded too? i dont think marg was cheating that night, why? cause he said he'd even fight cotto in PR if it came to it. he KNOWS he KO'd cotto man.
The fact is the man was caught with loaded gloves, so put what you "KNOW" to rest. Of course Plasterito would fight him in PR, he needs a payday, his career is done.
Duckgio Quacktinez has called out his last welterweight. After 9/15 he will have all the time in the world to bike around Oxnard for no reason.
Chavez will lose...soon...just PM me when he does. He'll lose to a Pavlik-type fighter anyways. If he moves up to 168 (which he should since he's taking illegal substances to make 160) he loses to Abraham, Froch, Bute, Dirrel, Ward, Dawson, Kessler...the list goes on.... He might, just might beat Allan Green hahahahahahahahaha
What did Canelo actually say in English? Since people have said that, the translator said something different. Thank you
The translator said "...we don't **** around..." but Canelo actually said something along the lines of "...let's cut the bull****..." This of course was in reference to the belts, that Canelo fights for honor not belts. Sounds like he's willing to drop the belt if GGG doesn't come down in weight :(
For being an Olympic silver medalist and having a world class trainer who trained one of the best Olympic gold medalists...Khan has hideous footwork. Just look at his foot up in the air in that picture lol.
Martinez spent 3 years fighting Eastern European goatfarmers and ducking Chavez.
Martinez is the biggest piece of chickenshit to ever hold the middleweight title, he's in no position to talk about anyone else. Who here remembers the troll Mush or 'Mushahaden' or something like that? lol
Mayweather is older than Pacquiao. Let's not act like only Pacquiao's reflexes will wear out. Mayweather has already shown signs of becoming less elusive and slower footed.
So this really doesn't make sense when Floyd will be 34 on Feb. First it's Floyd only fights 35+ year olds, now it's he waits till they lose their reflexes. The excuses are really retarded.
I said Pac gets "older AND worn", meaning while Mayweather sits out Pac is taking all these tough ass fights against bigger and (supposedly) stronger men. You can't say his reflexes won't diminish either, although they haven't yet, but I'm sure all these tough ass fights can't be benefiting Pac's body.
Oh, and you said it yourself, "he waits till they lose their reflexes", that's exactly what I was trying to say Mayweather wants to do.
GTFO here JMM.
When you fight someone, or you brother fights someone, there is always a reason, an excuse, why you came in short.
Margo fought the BEST fighter in the world, P4P. You fought a non P4P, one handed version of that fighter. Most of the boxers out there, even great ones, ain't sh*t when faced with Manny Pac.
Pacquiao has been P4P status since he beat Barrera and Morales (and got a draw w/Marquez). After the 3rd Morales fight (2006) Pacquiao proved to be a well-rounded fighter, not the "one handed version" you claim Marquez fought in 2008. Marquez fought one helluva fight and lost a Split Decision by 1 point against the worlds best p4p fighter, give credit where credit is due. Get your facts straight too.
Ahhhh this embarrassment is almost as bad as his his lover in these message boards back in the early days, Mushashaden or whatever that his name was, he licked the floor Chavez walked on.
2,000 unsold eh??
Compare that to Mayweather with 36 tickets unsold...
Less then 9 million gate compared to Mayweather's 12 million.
50/50!!
Canelo, you dumb fuc!k
Dam sergio didnt u win ??/sounds like u got run over by a truck! No wonder u dont want a rematch and are chasin little cotto lmao....
He did win, idiot. Of course a winner will take some damage in a fight, but you should be looking at the loser's face: one-eyed Chavez.
Mushahaden, you worthless troll, get the hell out of here. I told you to come looking for me when Chavez lost, why tou hiding? U dumb trick.
PS: Martinez hit and didn't get hit for 11.5 rounds!! Listen to yourself. Can't wait until Chavez gets owned by Ward and Dawson...
Exposed? We already knew that before the fight. What we didnt know is that he would outbox and buckle Williams. WTF?! Everyone in here is talking about Williams being buckled & sh*t!!! Please tell me what second of what round that dumbass punch landed, I downloaded the fight, so please prove it to me. It may have landed, but I haven't seen Williams "buckle" or have "spaghetti legs", as if it matters, bit*h-ass pus*y Kermit lost a stupid ass fight. My only regret is PWill couldn't finish his dumbass. Case closed.
maidana trains there and he's fighting a Mexican next and None have done sh1t to him dumb wopChavez has a much, much, much more passionate cult following than whoever Maidana is fighting next. If Maidana fights Canelo I'm sure similar things would happen.
Fvck you punk! You sorry piece of shet! I'm brown and proud you fvcking lame! I'm 100% Mexican!
Fvck you and your whole family b itch!
Triggered lol.
I know plenty of latinos (Mexicans, Mexican-Americans, Argentinos, the list goes on) that don't appreciate Canelo's hypocrisy. He's pulling Mayweather-like theatrics. Don't get me wrong, we still root for Canelo, but c'mon man just fight GGG.
FYI Marquez is the last of our great warriors ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bunr450r7Zw
Oh yeah, you never said that eh Timmy boy!
In that video he says "Mayweather will definitely stop him.", you dumb *****.
Mayweather's a smart guy. The more people Pacquiao beats the bigger Pacquiao's legacy grows (as well as PPV numbers). When no one is left for Pacquiao to fight, BOOM, out comes Mayweather and outboxes him, taking Manny's hard earned legacy and adds it to his own.
Advantages?: Pacquiao gets older AND worn out, in the meantime Mayweather just relaxes waits for the perfect time...
Can't fit a stadium that big into a Las Vegas Hotel...
Fight was sold out. The rematch would sell 15,000+ imo.
It would sell out a football stadium in the UK (>30,000)
I don't think it was sold out. I read there was less than 5,000 in attendance on ESPN, a shame since it was a great fight. Those damn vuvuzelas made the crowd so damn loud. The rematch will definitely sell-out like you said.
why 147???thought manny could easily make 140......see sometimes roach talks to much
Now they're demanding 147 because they know JMM ain't sh!t at the higher weight.
I'm a fan of Manny's but this is getting annoying: they make the bigger guys come down in weight, claiming 147 and 154 is "too much weight", and now making the smaller guys go up in weight, claiming 147 is "where they want to be". 140 would be a good middle-ground weight for JMM and Pacquiao, while simultaneously setting up potential $$$ clashes with Maidana, Bradley, Alexander, Ortiz, etc, but I won't be surprised if they force those guys to come up to 147 too...
We all know JMM looked like crap gaining so much weight and couldn't even make 147, and Pacquiao couldn't even make 147 either so WTF, just make it 140 already damn.
Ortiz is gonna knock is head off... I got 250k that not only Ortiz wins but he wins by KO/TKO
How do you bet on this site? I'm new to this crap. And yes, Ortiz gots this by TKO.
pavlik just hasn't been the same after that hopkins fight.
Actually, that's the problem: Pavlik has been exactly the same after the Hopkins fight. He can't deal with boxers, or how Hopkins phrased it after their fight, if Kelly doesn't change his style he can't deal with "black fighters".
when exactly did body shots start counting for official boxing scoring? WTF are you serious? Been on this site for almost a decade and this is one of the most idiotic statements I’ve read. And that’s saying something because most commenters are full of it lol.
What about S. Martinez VS J. Kirkland?!?!?! Why hasn't Kirkland been mentioned as a possible opponent since Pac/Mayweather vs Martinez at this point seems like nothing more than hopes and dreams.
