Haye is great for British boxing, not just a great boxer, he is exciting and fights anyone anywhere.
He may talk the talk but he backs it up. He trains hard, shows he can follow a game plan and use tactics, and is willing to take risks.
If this was not enough, he is also a boxing fan through and through, supporting other British boxer such as fellow world champions Amir Khan and Carl Froch, ringside at their fights giving them moral support and cheering them on.
David Haye spent 3 week with Groves in Miami helping him prepare for DeGale, he was like a big brother to George and a down to earth guy.
How many other Heavy weight champs will put themselves out like that, showing tha the ego we see trash talking his opponents is just a show, to sell the fight and get inside the mind of his opponent.
Haye is not arrogant, he is one of the bright stars of boxing and is extremely talented.
Lets hope he gets a fair fight in Germany and unifies the titles.
He is not only great for British boxing he is great for boxing, he has brought life back into the heavyweight divsion.
Wlad is at the top of his game, and is very good fighter so if Haye pulls this off lets give him the respect he deserves.
Haye has blasted his way through the crusierweight division, becoming undisputed champ and he is now set to do this in the heavyweight division in double quick time.
Good post and spot on despite what some will say on here.
He's always been a decent guy.
Win or lose i hope he has another fight in October before he retires.
Been on board it for years now, will only be getting off when he retires as Champion in October.
Will make it all the sweeter seeing him prove his talent on July 2nd on the biggest stage by defeating Wlad in his backyard.
That punch Vitali landed on him didn't even hit him cleanly. It was a grazing punch. That "KO" win had way more to do with Solis' foot slipping than the punch Vitali landed. And the lunging he was doing was genius... Blocking all of Vitali's punches on the outside, then quickly lunging in and hitting him cleanly with his superior handspeed was a great strategy...If only he wasn't so fat his knee might've held up.
An in shape Solis would beat both Klits, IMO.
I agree, there was a big chance of him winning that fight if in better shape.
The only real danger for Wlad would be Prime Vitali Klitschko and Prime Lennox Lewis.
Be much more than dangerous for Wlad, it would be his worst nightmare.
As would Prime Tyson.
As it is, Prime David Haye will be atleast dangerous and potentially disastrous for him.
Groves trying too hard. Trying to convince himself. He threw everything at Froch and still got put on spaghetti legs to the point of being sparked out. That doubt is firmly in Groves' mind. He knows he was gone and so does Froch, despite what people say about referees.
Spot on
He is still as smug and irritating as ever but now extremely delusional about the first fight and actually had a lot of idiotic bandwagon jumpers on the web fawning over him lol
All the ref did in the first fight was give him an excuse for his first legitimate defeat, there was only gonna be one winner in the end had the ref not stepped in when he did, Groves was gassed, hurt and has poor punch resistance, Froch would have stalked him relentlessly for the remainder of the fight
Hope Froch starts quicker this time and gives him a real going over by the end
Some people are going to say he cut himself on purpose, i just know it.
They already are, just read through some really stupid comments on the Daily Mail story, utter morons who clearly take no real interest in the sport
What a joke Haye is.
Why was he sparring heavily a week before the fight?.
His arse fell out.
Don't talk rubbish
In every interview in the last few days, Haye clearly stated he had two hard sessions left, Sunday and Monday, then 5 days to chill and do all the fun stuff for the fight
Just the Boxing fans luck that something happens in the last couple days :frown:
Different angle of the Nelson interview with both
That's Degale and Froch said his GG's breath stinks and if you include Kenny Anderson, 3 guys who have found him smug and irritating
James DeGale sold that fight. The British public and the judges felt sorry for whoever that poor ugly bullied ginger kid was.
Carl Froch is selling this fight. How much were tickets?
True
Watched Degale vs Groves again and it just confirmed what i thought on the night, Degale beat him.
Haye is still the best chance to beat a Klitschko. He can beat Wlad, and probably would beat Vitali's old ass at this point.
He is levels above Fury and would definitely beat the old Vitali we have seen of the last 2-3 years, quite handidly
Hopefully he gets his rematch with Wlad after this
Burns has a better resume than Broner and he's actually a two weight World Champion with decent wins ovr Rocky Martinez, Katsidis, Mitchell and Moses
I've no doubt that Broner at the very least has the toughest night of his career to date when/if he has the stones to get in with the Rickster, i suspect Burns will more than likely win a UD if the judges are fair.
He dropped his title in order to duck Broner already.
Not true
He addressed this again last week on Bunce's show
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvLhx4cgcYk&t=13m40s
When Froch KO's him next time around (Like he should have been given the opportunity to in the first fight) and Groves is face down, arse up in la-la land, I hope the ref gives Groves the full 10 count, so we can end this bullcrap.
And i hope Jim Watt is on commentary to witness it
What an embarrassment he and the sky team and pundits are with their bias that clearly influences how viewers are seeing the fight, many were watching a different one to me, it was a close fight outwith the 1st with Groves slightly ahead, but with a clear change in body language of both guys as it progressed, the Cobra was winning on Saturday whether the ref stopped it when he did or not.
He's lost a lot of fans in one night. Maybe he's beginning to realize public opinion is against him.
They obviously weren't fans worth having, Froch did nothing wrong, ref ended it a bit early but only one man was winning that fight either way and it wasn't gonna be Groves.
The ref has harmed Froch more than Groves, because somehow this little prick GG has a bandwagon of arselickers and a warrior that deserves nothing but respect like Froch is now somehow the bad guy (done nothing wrong but show amazing heart, determination and grit) because of a slightly premature stoppage by the ref
After round 6, there was only gonna be one winner and it wasn't gonna be Groves, Froch came through that and was looking strong, looking like he'd be relentless to the end (as usual), Groves was looking fatigued with each passing round, so in a way Groves has saved face by not being handed his first defeat as emphatically as it would most likely have been and can play the easy "i wasn't hurt" "i'd have comeback" card and people lap it up like clapping seals
Groves doesn't need to be the champ - people already saw what he was made of and he should unofficially be the champ anyways.
Why? he lost the fight, and had it continued was on his way to defeat, it was a close fight after round 1, but the tide was turning towards Froch with each passing round, he'd been connecting with body shots all fight and starting to land head shots with much more regularity and putting together flurries, while Groves was clearly being hurt by them and tiring
Froch will beat him if they fight again too, and Degale already did aswell but was on the end of an incorrect SD, something Groves fans wont admit
Good interview, the more he annoys the delusional ginger troll and his "fans" the better, he's had to put up with a fair amount from them in the last year and the digs at Paddy/Gavin are more than merited
Jim Watt sucking Froch so hard. Groves is landing flush shots and doesn't even acknowledge
LOL, no that's what he did the first fight, suck Groves dick and go quiet whenever Froch did any good work
Last night he called it as it was and redeemed himself a bit
Jim Watt is a ****ing idiot... Groves winning easy so far.. but he thinks Froch is?
Seriously, what fight were you guys watching? must have been the same one Amir "the Froch hater" Khan was :D
The first few rounds were close but Froch edged the majority of them, i had it 4-3 Froch going into the 8th, 7 was by far Groves best round and he started 8 well before being destroyed
Jim Watt was actually fair during this fight, unlike the first fight where his disgraceful bias towards Groves was vomit inducing.
He beat DeGale when they were both vying to be the next big UK SMW. Now that both are more seasoned, could he do it again? It was very close the first time around. I wouldn't mind seeing that fight again, but DeGale does have a title shot that he'll probably be looking to cash in ASAP.
I've always scored the Degale/Groves for Degale, did so on the night and on repeat viewings, close but clear imo, Degale also hurt him bad in round 9 but with only seconds left in the round, i feel him being the bad guy with the crowd swayed the judges a bit
Degale is the more talented of the two (maybe the UK's most talented), injury free and now under matchroom he will realise his undoubted potential and hopefully gets a rematch with Groves to put that right aswell at some stage
Rattled. Shook. Wanted nothing to do with George Groves. Was going to duck him. Had to be pushed kicking and screaming into the fight. Boom.
People actually forgot who the f*ck Carl Froch is.
A lot, not necessarily on this forum but in general here in Britain, didn't know who he was as they only started following boxing 6 months ago lol
Some of the Groves bandwagon jumpers have been insufferable with their clueless ****, makes it a more satisfying win all round
7-1 Groves
7-1 after 7 rounds?
of course you meant 6-1 Groves, which is embarrassing for you really, a scorecard only a clown could come up with or maybe Stevie Wonder!
Another round for froch. Groves has no answer for his jab and neither wants to commit
^^^^
This is what was actually happening
Froch was also landing good to the body, some guys on here definitely were watching a different fight or need to get off Groves little ginger dick
Same as the first fight where Froch actually did win 3 of the first 8 rounds but this was conveniently ignored!
Smartest fight of Frochs career
I am in awe of the Cobra
He was excellent and was leading the fight going into the 8th despite what the numpties on here said during the fight, totally different Froch from the first fight (a fight he was going to in regardless of the slighly early stoppage)
Some of the cards on here were ridiculous. It was close going into the eighth (I had Froch 2 up).
I had it 4-3 Froch, with Groves winning the 7th (his best round)
I have Froch winning the fight. Guess people really do see different things.
Indeed, we obviously saw the same fight but reading the live fight comments on here is bizarre
