The press conference is on at the moment on Sky Sports, and it has just been announced that it will be on Sky Box Office (PPV) and the 20.000 Phones4U arena in Manchester has been sold out in 11 minutes.
This was faster than Haye-Fury, Froch-Kessler, Haye-Klitschko, Haye-Harrison and all the other big fights that's been on in Britain or involving British fighters over the last couple of years.
Guess that squashes the notion that there was no interest in this fight.
Where are all the clowns that said boxing is dead or dying?Mayweather/Canelo sold out arenas,Canelo/trout sold out arenas,Donaire/Rigondeaux sold out arenas,Zab/Garcia did well in ticket sells and so on and so on.
I guess the problem is not the big fights, but the smaller fights. I think it's a problem that someone like Andre Ward can barely sell 5k tickets, or that Broner fights in a half empty arena for a world title.
Big fights have always sold well, but not many people on the street no who these guys are. And that's the problem.
But British boxing is flying at the moment.

Nevertheless, you can't deny the interest in this fight.
I think the interest is in Froch. I still expect this to bomb on PPV. Not that they'll release the numbers

I went to Haye-Chisora - tickets were 50, 75, 150 etc. These tickets were much cheaper.

LOL Froch acting all hard..
Someone remind the dude he couldn't sell more than 2k tickets in his home arena for his world title bouts back in the days...
Stay humble or you will come down Crushing
I dont get how this sold quicker that Froch-Kessler 2
Site was in meltdown mode and ebay is full of tickets already, so makes you second guess where the tickets have gone!
I think because it's a domestic clash.
I don't think there were any £20 tickets. There probably were some 40-50s but I haven't seen them. I can see now that the worst tickets on seatwave has been sold for £58+.

There is no way the cheapest tickets were 60 quid. More like 20 or 30.

No but I don't remember any fight not on PPV that sold 20k anywhere near as quick as this one. The closest to it would be Haye-Chisora - and that was on subscription.
It shows that the interest is huge, and when interest is huge, it warrants PPV.
How much were the tickets?

Me too. Froch-Kessler II was a much bigger fight.
Groves is in for a world of hurt.
There's not necessarily a correlation between ticket sales and PPV buys.

James DeGale sold that fight. The British public and the judges felt sorry for whoever that poor ugly bullied ginger kid was.
Carl Froch is selling this fight. How much were tickets?
True
Watched Degale vs Groves again and it just confirmed what i thought on the night, Degale beat him.
I said from the start I thought it was a PPV fight - early results prove me right.
