Froch and Groves did a little Ringside bit after their press conference earlier this week.
I must say, it seems like Froch is losing his cool a little bit. I don't understand why he's getting all riled up over Groves.
Did he expect Groves to say he was God? Also, it's a little hypocritical of Froch, who I am a big fan of by the way, to claim Groves should be respectful towards the champion.
If you remember, Froch showed no respect towards Ward previous to their fight, and also said a lot of things about Abraham and Bute.
Take a look:
All the respect on planet earth for Froch. This guy has fought animal after animal and always competed with the top players in or around this weight. Groves gets starched, AND QUICKLY.
He has 10 weeks to 'sell' the fight. I don't for one second believe this has something to do with Carl wanting to sell the fight. He went on record before the Kessler fight to say "Groves would get a pasting" and he dropped him in sparring etc etc. And almost accused him of high treason because he went to spar with Kessler.
It's easy to use that excuse, but the truth of the matter is that Carl is looking way too fired up at this stage of the build up. He's pumping himself up, doesn't want to shake hands, says Groves' breath stinks, says he's got a glass chin, glassy eyes etc.
This is all something you would expect to hear at the weigh in, not at the first presser.
He's selling the fight mate lol. Look at that face off video, Froch literally has his tongue in his cheek.
They have two weeks to sell the fight - the first press conference and then fight week. In between is training.
Most audible face to face vid i have come across for hearing both of them, Froch was quite amusing here
"Youre getting knocked out.... And your breath stinks"
Different angle of the Nelson interview with both
That's Degale and Froch said his GG's breath stinks and if you include Kenny Anderson, 3 guys who have found him smug and irritating
Froch looked like he was ready to reach for Groves. Froch never wanted this fight, it's his mandatory, he doesn't feel Groves is on his level.
froch is a confident guy. so confident that he forgot about the ward fight.
He mentioned the Ward fight.
Laced, do you not realise he has a PPV to sell?
This all about promoting a fight. Froch has to get the public talking, and create some buzz for the fight.

Pot... kettle... black
Sure Froch didn't give any of his opponents bar Kessler respect, especially when he was going after Calzaghe.
Haha, the first thing I thought of was Calzaghe, too.
I've grown to be a Froch fan, if for nothing else because he is one of few guys who truly believes EVERY word he says. He's never been shook by the bright lights of big fights and has never "broken". He gives 100% every time he steps in the ring and finds a way to win almost always.
WAR FROCH :boxing:
Hahahah you listen to 2 many rumors wait till fight night. Who was he dropped by before the Froch/kessler fight?
I'm more than happy to wait for the fight, time will show this as a complete mismatch.

Froch is just selling the fight, but he does seem a little too worked up here. But remember he also said he would 'kill Mikkel Kessler' - Just words to hype it all up.
Yeah but that was a couple of days before the fight.
The way Froch is sounding now, he'll be saying he'll kill Groves and his whole family!

It's not about the 21 year old before, it's about Groves in general. Rumour suggests he was dropped in sparring again just before Kessler-Froch II...if you keep getting put down in sparring with headgear on and massive gloves, your chin is a real problem. Froch knows about his chin and will crack it.
Groves-DeGale was the notable period for Groves, since then his popularity has regressed with dud opponent after dud opponent. After the Bute win, Froch became a massive name. After beating Kessler, he is now as big/popular as any fighhter in Britain. From this stage he is a PPV star, against anyone.

the way groves let his feet get off the ground its gonna be one long fall to the canvas come fight night. at least he wont be conscious to experience it.
I don't agree at all. Dropping a 21 year old with 11 pro fights in sparring is nothing to judge by to be honest, and as Groves said, the public isn't really told about what happened subsequently.
I think he's a PPV attraction as well, but not if he fought someone like Yusuf Mack again. He's not like David Haye was pre klitschko, or Amir Khan was before he lost those fights. He's not on that level, in terms of public interest. But with the right opposition, Ward, Kessler, GGG, Hopkins or a domestic rival like Groves, he will be on PPV.
Groves is rated #5 by the ring magazine, and headlined PPV before Froch did. He is not a nobody. But I'm not sure he's ready for Froch.
