It's a rumor that Floyd is still using xylocaine which was proven to be false ever since he got Rafael Garcia to wrap his hands. But it's true and recorded on video (on HBO no less) that Floyd Jr. used to take xylocaine a while ago. Ellerbe was right and wrong on the issue. Right in saying that Floyd is not using the stuff but wrong in saying that he never used it at all.
Pacquiao's trainer used xylocaine too. I don't see the big deal.
the only person floyd was bigger than was JMM. hatton is bigger than floyd. you cats need to watch more of someones career before yall start talking out the sides of yalls necks, not knowing what you are talking about.
floyd has been the smaller guy in damn near all of his fights
hahaha no. that was hatton's first big fight numberswise.
The man is very busy on campaigns... but whatever Floyd and Flomos would say... they will never... ever get under Pacquiao's skin... I see a lot of hating on Pacquiao recently... so be it.. lets wait for coming months....
If Pacquiao wins the election and decided to retire and not fight Floyd, mayweather will be haunted by himself for the rest of his life..he will be chasing pac's legacy for the rest of his life.... truth...
Not really. Floyd made it pretty clear it's all on Pac if he wants the fight to go down. Pac knows what to do. Floyd can still add quality names to his resume (Williams/Martinez/Berto). If Pac decides to quit and get involved in politics that's understandable, but if he comes back to face anyone but Floyd, it hurts his image more than Floyd's.
it's different because you believe so.. :lol1:
but if you read between the lines, why does pbf demand an OST after seeing how pac crushes cotto after taking cotto's best shot.. floyd Sr said it best in the interview after pac-cotto, he thinks pac is into something..
pac not bowing to pbf's demand is not a bitch move, its to show pbf he can't demand anything from his opponent, all they need is compromise..
pac agreeing to it at first and backing off, essentially ruining negotiations, is a bitch move
wtf are you talking about?
oh haha I misread i thought ya'll was talking PPV numbers :dunce:
Floyd's bigger than Hatton though, Hatton is about the same size as Marquez, just a tad bigger than Pac
and the champ obliged.. :lol1:
145 is within the welterweight limit..
141-147 is a welterweight limit..
don't compromise if you can't do it.. it's just a mind game..
pac not bowing to pbf's term is just a mind game... he don't want pbf to think he is the boxing draw and act like a primadonna..
how on earth does a champion came in the ring and introduce first against a challenger? yes, only PBF does it because he thinks people will bow down to his demands..
pac on the other hand did the right thing.. try to compromise and not settle for his opponents demands..
only because he had no choice, pac held all the cards... i remember opposition from him on it, either 147 or 145 but no belt
they keep saying gassed bcuz theyre reaching for an excuse.
shane didnt gas out in any of his other losses right...
I don't know to be honest.. only loss of his I watched was the Cotto one, and I got a pretty bad memory to tell you the truth
But everybody keeps saying he got gassed after the 3rd round, that's ridiculous. The guy was bouncing on his feet for most of the fight. It's mostly pactards saying that, so... whatever.
yes....let's praise floyd for 2 good wins while completely ignoring that during pacquiao's time against barrera, morales, and marquez they were all 2-4 on p4p lists at the time.
He lost against Marquez.
The boxing WORLD was HAPPY and Content. We have a SUPER FIGHT Coming and What did Floyd do?
Demand additional drug test WTF?????!!!
The whole boxing community was HAPPY until the demand. Now we have Journalist and Forum posters running in circles. unless TOP RANK and GBP planned this from the start.
It was all good until the addional test demands!! Why cant you idiot floyd supporters and apologists understand this?
The demands were there from the beginning of the negotiations, and team Pacquiao was OK with it at first. They backtracked and ****ed everything up. It's been said like 20 times in this thread already.
Yeah, Sergio's not big enough popularity wise to fight Mayweather.
Yeah, but I think just the threat he poses is enough to draw a nice audience. It may only do 1 mil at most, but that's not too bad.
After Saturday's fight, probably Cotto just cuz of his heritage. They've both taken a huge hit in terms of drawing power though, IMO, since the beatdowns they suffered from Pac and Mayweather.
:wtf::banana::banana:
Haha I just copy/paste the OP and replaced Pac and Mayweather's names... OK, so maybe the punching isn't true, but the rest is
Just saying, Pac ain't faced anyone like Money Mayweather, that's all
Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey have physical advantages, but that's it...
Mayweather is younger, faster, more active, MUCH faster feet, better reflexes, punches straighter, has a better defence and hits just as hard as Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey.
Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey were too flat footed to make their punches register.
Great wins for Pacquiao but don't get it confused.
Seriously... did you really predict he would beat Shane in that fashion? I doubt it.
I, like probably everybody else, thought he would just run backwards and potshot his way to a decision... but nah, he took it to Mosley, effectively neutralizing anything Mosley threw with excellent reflexes and crisp shots.
Who has the worst defence in boxing and who had beatin' Mosley... Hiting Mosley at will and for the record put shane into a backpeddaling mode.
Come on... did you even watch the video? Look at Cotto's footwork (or lack there of). You really think Mayweather is gonna (literally) walk into Pacman like that? C'mon son!
Exactly.
The first sign of these improvements was in the David Diaz fight, where he looked like a different fighter, and from there went on to become what he is now. But, the major difference was in the Diaz fight, right after JMM.
It's not like it was a slow improvement between the Marquez fight 'till now, it was a sudden change, followed by minor improvements depending on fights. So, i'm pretty sure we'll see a much less impressive Pacquiao if Mayweather decides to box, although, he's usually agressive against Southpaws, so may play into Pacs hands.
Either way, it's gonna be a fun fight! I could see him rocking Floyd and putting him out. He won't give him a chance to hold on, like Shane, again because of his great footwork. But I honestly, I can see Floyd just totally dominating him with clean, crisp counters all night. I dunno, I just hope the fight happens!!!
Fail.
"would you take a blood test for $40 Million?"
He agreed to take more then one test prior to 24 days out, and then one right after. That's even more then A BLOOD TEST.
I'm pretty sure you know what the TS is referring to, but if you wanna spin it your way, fine, I failed. Have a cookie.
:lol1:
I agree with your point, Pac has shown a lot of variety in his recent fights, but I can't help but wonder, is it that he's changed so much since the JMM fight, or is it that none of the guys he's fought since then have neutralised those weapons? It's probably a bit of both, but I doubt Pac will look as spectacular in his offense against Mayweather as he did agaisnt the likes of Cotto and Diaz...
Yeah, it is kinda hard to tell. I mean, you can see an improvement in him for sure, he's got great footwork, and both hands are pretty deadly. But it's kinda hard to judge just how good he is when he can pretty much just overwhelm his opponents into submission knowing they're not gonna be slipping many punches.
pacs a different fighter now
He beat ODLH, Hatton, Cotto and clottey with a far superior skill range than what he possessed against JMM
Notice a recurring theme in those opponents? None of those guys can stick and move. :boxing:
All of those guys like to stand and trade... except Clottey, he just likes to stand
Watch the video again. Pac is just too fast lmao. Not Cotto became flat footed...
Watch some of Floyd's videos, notice how attentive he is the whole time. Cotto doesn't even flinch.
Negro please! That's a lame ass excuse! The drug testing stipulation was the only one Pretty Boy put on the contract. All the other shit came from the Pacquiao camp and Floyd was more than happy to abide. Pac knows he would get whooped without that A-side Meth.
You don't have to be the biggest name in boxing to be the biggest draw.
More people know who Manny is than Floyd or any other current boxer. Manny has been on TIME magazine and has done other things that most boxers don't get to do. How many boxers have multi-million dollar endorsement deals?
Floyd is the biggest draw, but Manny is more popular. Floyd has better PPV numbers because his fans and the haters pay to see his fights.
Time Magazine Asian edition. He hasn't sniffed the cover of the US version.
This thread is stupid. Floyd pre-Oscar wasn't that big. Exactly like Pacquiao pre-Oscar couldn't draw shit either. Pac/Clottey is a terrible comparison to May/Baldo
