GGG wants to fight the Guy who BEAT Lara.
The guy who BEAT Lara? Who is that? Canelo? Canelo didn't beat Lara, he was gifted a decision. There is no question who really won that fight.
Ward was pound for pound and never made big money. What was the GGG vs Canelo agreement? 90 -10 purse in favor of CANelo at 155. If GGG needed those suckers he would had done anything like Amir Khan did. He gets money from other places, his country and sponsors APPLE and JORDAN.
Right... But apparently little g isn't fighting for money, he fights for pride, to be the best, to unify, etc. If that is the case, why not give Canelo the bigger split and come down a few pounds? If he really is that good, as good as all his fan boys say he is, he would still KO Canelo at 155. At that point he would most likely be recognized as the #1 P4P fighter in the world.
I don't see any true competitor turning down the opportunity to fight the biggest PPV star currently in boxing, and the opportunity to solidify themselves as #1. And since he already has money from Apple and Jordan, he doesn't need a big cut. He can take the big cut in all of his other fights after crushing Canelo.
Or, he can go fight Eubank, lmao...
GGG should move up to 161 lbs and force the SMW fight him at that weight for their titles, or He should force them to come down to 160 like ANDRE WARD made CHAD DAWSON come down to his weight.
A little salty eh? Ward didn't make anyone come down. Dawson offered to come down, said he would beat Ward at 168.
Trying to distract from the fact that little g doesn't want to fight anyone with a pulse? I haven't heard the name Lara come out of little g's mouth, despite getting called out multiple times. Lara said he'd gladly come up to 160 to put on a clinic.
Briggs is a steroid abuser, has no cardio, he's past his prime, he has a grey beard, and he has mental health issues. Am I wrong on any of these? To me he end up becoming the Kimbo Slice of boxing.
And what is Haye? Some world beater??? Been off the shelf for 3.5 years, only to come back and fight two dudes who probably couldn't hold their own as a bouncer at a local bar. Talking about people past their prime, Haye fits right in the thick of that category.
I'd love nothing more than to see the Kimbo of boxing KO Haye's goofy ass.
Fury should file a lawsuit and claim discrimination for being called such a terrible name. Maybe he can claim that the BBC is discriminating against big, stupid gypsies and also charge them with a hate crime. haha
lmfao... love it
Of course uncle bob is full of ****, but on another note, it's not like Khan is some huge draw or something. How many casual fans know who Khan is? What's he most known for anyways, getting KTFO by Garcia? I think that fighting Khan at Wembley would be how Manny makes the most $ out of his last fight, but in the US, it's hard to argue that Khan is a ppv draw.
I know for sure that I'm not that excited about seeing a Pac - Bradley III... I would certainly have rather seen Crawford of Khan.
It'll probably do well unfortunately. Casuals have bought into the Joshua hype - he's basically a household name now.
I guess the general public sees a body builder KOing bums and is intrigued. He seems like he could be legit, but still has a lot of questions to answer.
Szpilka has horrible defense and will be open to those retard looping shots from Wilder. Unless he's improved a whole lot since I've seen him last, he may not last long. Not the worst opponent though, at least we've heard of this guy.
Golovkin has never defeated a top-3 contender and he is rated #3 P4P by the Ring.
http://www.tbrb.org/2015/10/10/13-january-2015/
I think that little g's P4P ranking by the ring is a complete joke. He has yet to fight a legit dangerous opponent. Who's the best guy he's fought? Lemieux? Lemieux is a b class fighter who's signature career win was a war against N'Dam. I don't think that railroading bums and b class fighters warrants a P4P ranking. Glovokin ducking Ward after calling out Froch, Chaves, and "anyone from 154-168" proved that he doesn't want to fight the elite fighters. Glovokin wants to take the path of least resistance, i.e., winning titles from journeyman and winning vacant titles.
still fight could have been made, who turned it down? GGG cant offer canelo anything, he is not the A side
Exactly. Canelo submitted to both Floyd and Cotto to make the fight happen. He took a major loss in money and weight for Floyd, and a major loss to Cotto in money. Similarly, Floyd had to submit to De La Hoya to make that fight happen, and so on... The list goes on of fighters who have submitted to the A side to make the fight. Fact is that ggg doesn't want these fights, this is proven by his unrealistic terms and demands.
Pretty boring fight IMO... Robert "The Gatekeeper" Guerrero is going to keep fighting all the WW contenders and be good Haymon stepping stone. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get Porter, Spence, etc. in his next few fights.
Couldn't have said it better... I am not interested in seeing little g fight any more cab drivers or dish washers. Little g needs to man up to all this 154-168 talk and fight Canelo at 155.
Don't think you can blame any individual groups here. Wlad wanting a rematch clause is reasonable. As is Fury accepting it. The IBF are just enforcing their mandatory. And Main Events are making sure their fighter gets his shot.
What's wrong is that you can have 4 different world heavyweight champions.
Exactly, the fact that 4 individuals can all claim to be "The Champion" is idiotic.
Because at one point....
FlyW champ- Mighty Mouse (black)
Interim BW champ- Baroa(Brazillian)
Fw champ- Aldo (brazillian)
Lw champ- Ben Henderson/Pettis (not white)
MW- Anderson Silva (brazillian)
Lhw- Jones (black)
Hw- Cain/Werdum (Mexican & Brazillian)
Did MMA die? Did white people lose interest? Only in the past 1-2 years did white start winning dominating the belts. When Weidman beat Silva, McGregor beat Aldo, Dillashaw beat Barao, and Stipe beat Werdum.
This racist bull**** has to stop from both sides.
Thank you for this post. I couldn't agree more, this racial garbage has got to stop. The UFC is incredibly diverse. How many Brazilian boxing champions are there right now? I'll wait.
Who is the consensus GOAT in MMA??? Most would say Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, or GSP. One is Brazilian, one is African American, and the other is Canadian. Who is the biggest attraction in the MMA right now? A foreigner, an Irishman.
Current champions:
Flyweight: Mighty mouse - Black
Bantamweight - Dominic Cruz - Hispanic
Featherweight - Conor McGregor - Irish
Lightweight - Eddie Alvarez - Puerto Rican
Welterweight - Robbie Lawler - Filipino/ White
Middleweight - Michael Bisbing - European
Light Heavyweight - Daniel Cormier - Black
Heavyweight - Stipe Miocic - White
Women's Strawweight - Joanna Jedrzejczyk - Polish
Women's Bantamweight - Amanda Nunes - Brazilian
Not sure how any of these morons on this forum are accusing the UFC to be dominated by white American champions.
But in all seriousness boxing judges are some of the most inconsistent, corrupt, and downright awful human beings in all of sports. For any professional athlete to have to their fate in the hands of boxing judges is something that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. I've witnessed so many judging atrocities it's surpassed my memory bank.
I'm not even gonna start with you or this subject. Ortiz is a joke, and got KTFO for intentionally head butting... Boo Hoo! 😫
I never denied that Ortiz is a joke and got paid back for headbutting. But to try to use that "ko" as an example of Floyd's punching power is a complete joke.
Floyd and Collazo don't knock anyone out and they knocked him out like they were one punch KO artists.
Lmao, you really citing Floyd's "ko" of Ortiz? I guess punching a guy with his hands down waiting on a ref's guidance is a good ko to brag about. I guess you've got to take what you can get though, when's the last time Floyd scored a legit KO, 96, 97? Bum ass joe cortez is to blame as well, some of the biggest boxing atrocities happened on his watch.
That tends to be the way it is now anyway, If there are 4 belts and 4 champions the fans tend to decide over the long run who is the 'champion.'
Do you sincerely think Stevenson is the real champ at 175? He fought a recently KO'd Dawson, Cloud who has literally just lost to B-Hop, Bellew who lost to Cleverly and a Bika who moved up in weight and a bunch of no names vs. Kovalevs recent resume?
I think Canelo is the lineal champ at 160, despite never fighting at 160, GGG is the man to beat at 160 (even if his resume is lacking, it still the best at 160.)
I hear what you're saying, but with that train of thought there's no conclusive champ. Fans are never going to agree on a champ, some will claim that the lineal is the champ, others will claim alphabet title holders are the champ, and others will claim that the "man to beat" (al la ggg) is the the champ.
Stevenson is definitely the lineal champ, regardless of the condition of Dawson when they fought. Kovalev is widely recognized as the best LHW in the world, but not the champ. There is a difference between the best fighter in a division and the Champion. The champion is still the champion until he is beaten or retires, but that doesn't always make him the best in his division.
Best heavy in last 30 years would put him ahead of the likes of Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe, Morrer, Klitschkos, Lewis, etc., etc. Bernstein is way off the mark with this one.
Kovalev's body language from around the 3rs or 4th round on was that of a guy that knew he was in deep. I give him all the credit in the world. Because he never gave up trying to win. He kept working his jab and outpointing Ward in a couple rounds. I think Kovalev has tried to convince himself that he ran outta gas in the first fight because he was overtrained, yada yada. But early in this fight you could tell that he knew he wasn't overtained. He was in with a guy that is just as tough and just as rugged as him. And he couldn't handle it.
True... I give nothing but credit and praise to Kov. He is a great fighter and gave it his all. He was clearly gassed/ spent. I don't think that a Ward KO victory = Kov is garbage. I still consider him 2nd best LHW in the world, even above superman. He just got beat by the better man tonight, simple as that.
if true canelo really needs to be ashamed of himself..... me being that much bigger than that guy I woulda just slapped the mess outta him.
You must not have ever been in a street fight. I've never once seen two grown men about to come to blows stop and say "wait a minute, we're not in the same weight class". In the streets if you mess with someone's girl, you should expect that it might come to blows with her man, no weight or size differential will save you.
Ward may well have been on he's way to winning because Kovalev looked gassed. But the stoppage was bogus and the last shot, undisputably was low. If you do get stopped to the body it should be because your on the canvas unable to get up from a shot that lands on your actual body. . But it's funny to read all the posters who are making this fight about them. Calling fighters *****es and ******* as if you've ever done anything in your sad lives.
You don't need to have been a pro boxer to state your opinion. If that is the case, no one can comment on NBA, NFL, MLB, UFC, etc.
If you think that was a solid shot, you are wrong. That was a glancing blow at best. If Wlad landed a clean shot on Tyson, he'd probably still be asleep.
And I like Fury, you are just reaching way too far with what you are implying.
GGG is one of the best, people need to recognise.
You are delusional. He beat a guy who's claim to fame is a close fight with an old washed up Martinez, and another who lost 3 of his last 5, and was recently knocked out by a Welterweight... Impressive
lol... wilder was starting to look like a zombie. Not really sure how he was standing, maybe muscle memory? I guess he thought it was worth 5-10 years off the end of his life to prove that he is tough to all the internet trolls.
Big respect to the ref that let this listless version of the Bronze Bomber get to the 11th round!!
