Does anybody think that Margarito could beat Judah, I don't rate Judah as highly as everyone else seems to.

It has come to my attention that Parodius is not only a tool but has the most limited boxing knowledge of all regular posters on the site.

Everybody is talking about mayweather V Hatton this Cotto V Mayweather that, Judah V Mayweather, Hatton Cotto etc etc Personally I would love Ricky to go to 147 and take on Zab any thoughs?... (barring network issues)

I was on boxing rec ratings (I know they are not the best) but it provided some interesting insight into who may be the best boxing country. I looked at the number of fighters in the top 10 in each division current and of all time and divided it by the population of said country.... this is what happened in terms of ratings: Current. 1. If you had to have one fighter of the current generation (still fighting today) to quite literally fight for your life - who would it be?

Time to sac up. I'm going big on Reid to win this. He has been one of the unluciest fighters around, he has never been given the credit he deserves and I would imagine will be written of for this fight. Was robbed in Germany against Ottke and has come as close to anybody has at beating Calzaghe (many people felt he won the fight) He be prepared as ever and I fancy him to beat Jeff. Rumour has it that he has looked sharp in sparing and is training well - any thoughts?

Whats the most intimidating thing you have heard a boxer say to his opponent prior to the fight? at the press confrence, weight in, before the 1st bell, just in a pre fight interview whatever...

Its been a while (six months in Australia actually) I can't believe what I've missed! Finally it looks as thought a certain Mr Hatton came good as I promised over and over again that he would! I was so pleased for him. I imagine some of my American friends who post on the site were eating suitable amounts of humble pie! Bring on Pretty Boy - Gatti was terrible, as much as I love him he got it so wrong! Better yet, this shows just how long I've been away, we finally found out how over hyped our friend from the the Far East was when Eric took him out - that also gave me alot of satisfaction. As for Tyson.... well It drives me mad, I spent ages on this website calling fights which I always get wrong and then am faced with a barrage of I told you so..... I go away and call Hatton over Zoo, Eric and the massive humiliation of Tyson and can't even brag about it....gutted.....its great to be back!

After the Hopkins fight where do people rate Eastman within the division, give me a top 5 if you dare.

I have to say how suprised I was when on Saturday night I met Johhny Nelson in a Bar in Manchester. Being the shy retiring type I asked my girlfriend to go over and get his autograph, not only did he oblige but she retured with him in tow. He shook my hand and we proceeded to have a 15 minute chat about boxing and life, I had heard in the past that he was not the most sociable bloke and had a bit of a chip on his shoulder....not so, he was a really nice guy....the synic in me thought that he may just have taken a ***** to my girlfriend! Lucky this was not the case as I didn't really fancy having to protect her honour! Bottom line, all boxers aren't arseholes, he was a down to earth nice bloke.

Radio and tv have this morning been talking about a almost done deal between the camps of Zoo and Hatton for a March/april showdown in wait for it.......Manchester. Money apparently looks like £2 million for Zoo to come and bring the belt to defend in Manchester and £500,000 for Hatton (taking a much smaller amount than he usually gets) to have a pop at the belt on home soil. Warren revealed that outside of the heavyweight division he has never known about a fighter getting more to come to the UK to fight, the exception being Tyson about 4 years ago.

Having read Wez's thread regarding the lack of any other British Heavyweight talent, it was with some relish that I watched a certain Roman Greenberg, fighting out of Finchley via Tel Aviv?, as he was being billed as a real prosepect. I made myself confortable in front of the tv and tuned into BBC1 for some rare boxing coverage, encoraged and some what excited by Telford's former Super Middleweight World Champion Richie Woodhall's pre fight banter, I highly antisipated the first bell............ only to be confronted by one of the most lack luster and frankly talentless contests I have ever seen! The bottom line is unfortunatly Wez you are right.

I have just listened to a very frank radio interview, on Talk Sport, in the UK with Ray Hatton, Ricky's father about how his son was close to giving up the fight game last year due to the politics of boxing. Apparently for 4 weeks he considered his options last year with a view to abbandonning the sport as a result of being unable to get the fights he wanted. Ray went on to say that, suprising as it may be to the majority of fight fans out there unless you are the likes of Bernard Hopkins or Oscar De La Hoya you have little to no control over who you fight. Ricky became disalisioned with people saying he was ducking opponents etc. I found it an interesting insight into the frustrations of pro boxing.

Which boxer has taken the biggest beating and still managed to stay on his feet till the final bell. (perhaps this should include people that have been knocked down but gotten back up)

Is it possible that Wayne Braithwaite could be the answer to the current crop of heaveyweight nobodies? I know that it would be a huge step up and it would require some serious bulking up, but he is tall and has a frame that could probably take the weight. I have seen him box on a number of occasions now and IMO he has real boxing ability, his record suggests that he has the power at cruiserweight with 15 or 16 KO out of 19-20 fights. Or would he just be to small to cut it at Heavey?

Its clear that Williams is the underdog but what is his best chance of winning? If you were Williams how would you attempt to cause a huge upset?

Don't get me wrong, I think the guy is good, but you'd think he was the best thing since sliced bread if you believed the hype. Maybe I'm wrong but the guy has power for his weight and seemingly good stamina, however he's very loose and gets tagged, its strikes me that he is going to get KO'd a few times in his career before he's done fighting at the higest level. Before the barrage of replys come flooding in saying bla bla bla bla... he's the best etc etc. Im not saying that he's not one of the best fighters in the division currently but he's hardly one of the greatest fighters of all time as some are attempting to make out

These days, with so many different world titles out there, its possible to argue that there are to many average fighters that currently have or have held world titles. But who is the best fighter never to be crowned a world champion?

Everyone seems to want to talk about great heavyweights, always banging on about Ali, Fraizer, Forman, Holyfield (as if), Holmes.... Is Marciano underrated/overrated. I'll tell you now the most underated Heavey of all time is Sonny Liston, he sould be in the top 5 of anyones heavy list, nobody had a clue how old he was he was almost certainly fighting well into his fifties right at the top of the tree. If only he had not got mixed up in the mob (re Ali) then I truely believe that he would be regarded as the truely awsome fighter that he actually was. You want to talk about how hard Fraizer and Forman hit, Liston had more punch than either.

Do people tend to think that Nigel Benn was under or overrated. It's hard to tell imo, he had some big wins but also some soft losses. The fight with the G-man was incredible in the sence that I'm not sure I have ever seen two boxers punch one another so hard in my life. Before the fatel incident the G-man actually knocked Benn out of the ring with a punch. This brings me to thinking that he could clearly take a punch, he could clearly give a punch, perhaps his skills could have been better but he could box when he needed to - so was it infact his mind that let him down sometimes? What do people think?

I have not heard anymore about Joe Mesi, has he followed doctors' advice and quit the game, or are we going to see him in the ring again? I must say I thought there was a possibility that the authorities would not let him fight again, it seems to have gone a bit quiet does anybody know what the deal is?
