I was on boxing rec ratings (I know they are not the best) but it provided some interesting insight into who may be the best boxing country. I looked at the number of fighters in the top 10 in each division current and of all time and divided it by the population of said country.... this is what happened in terms of ratings:
Current.
1. P.Rico
2. Panama
3. Denmark
4. Nicaragua
5. Dominican Republic

Interesting.....
Look I'm not going to get drawn into this, the only person making an ass of themselves is you because you don't seem to have grasped the point of the thread.....I can't help you with that mate.
a) There factual in the sence that its an accruate use of figures from the boxing rec site
b) on that basis somebody that believes them isn't an idiot
and C) your really going to struggle with those exams as you clearlly can't see the wood for the trees.
What are you studying?...... Basket weaving?...... advanced till operation?...
Yea you went to check about a million boxers, it's a bullshit & meaningless list. How long it take you to do all of this. I'm pretty sure it will take you a long time. I know what you're trying to do & you're jealous of US.
With the greatest respect in the world....why would I be jelous of the US. It has nothing to do with that, the point of this forum is to post threads of interest for the readers to provoke a lively discussion.
It seems a little odd, i was under the impression the UK and OZ's population was nearly the same, the UK has far more top 10 fighters at the moment.
Population of Oz approx 19 million, population of UK approx 58 million - your right about the UK having more top ten fighters though.
Parodius - Having read your posts its clear that even though I have explained myself on a number of occasions you are still missing the point. Its not about world champions, it was about boxers in the top 10 of each weight division, looking at that divided by a countries population - it is another way of looking at what country produces what.
I'm sorry your struggling with this concept, I noted you said in one of your threads that it took me a long time, actually it didn't, I assume also your a student of sorts - it strikes me that your an ideal candidate to look into something like this as no doubt you'll have alot of spare time on your hands. As for the insults you keep passing my way...... I suggest you study a little harder because if you can't understand this I don't hold out alot of hope for the exams mate....
You can "lol" all you want at Ruiz but still he will go down in history as the first Latin HW champ, like it or not.
Relax. I don't care what he goes down as, he fights illegally, no matter what his ethnicity.
Ok...you got me :D , I'll name some greats just out of boredom (doing collage homework, so its pages long, and I happen to be at my desk).
Felix Trinidad- record defenses at welter.
Carlos De Leon- Only cursier to get the world title four times.
Ruiz/Oquendo- First Spanish heaveyweights in history.
Gomez-Greatest 122ilber ever.
Ortiz- Top three lightweight
Benitez- One of the best defensive fighters ever, all natural, I dont think he trained very much.
Jose Torres- First Latin Lightheaveyweight champion.
Great by population percentage, and Latin standards.
LOL@Ruiz and Oquendo
Hearns was a pure hitter with notorious KO power, and so was Trinidad at 147 but he was known to box too, so I would of loved to see them go at it.
Everyone one has their favorites.
I love to see the softer sweater side that I always knew you posessed, nice post IWATCH!
I think Leonard would of beat him, but Hearns would of been a toss up, I think Trinidad would win. Why do you ask? Cause my signature? It has nothing to do with fantasy match-ups, but on whats allready been done .
just wondered your opinion of it cos you seem a huge tito fan and i am too and you have been slated about loving pr so much it reminds me of juy and eubank :D
Thought it would be an interesting question, i know what you mean with hearns but i think he was deadly at 147, if tito didn't go early he could of easily got hearns late or caught him trying to finish the job.
Chinny punchers are so exciting especially ones who can box too when needed

World Heavyweight Championship
If the truth be told I wrote it for all my friends from across the pond, who bang on about the US scene, I thought it provided an interesting perspective on things, but I'm pleased that I have a following in P. Rico!
