No other fighters fight with their style so who could they spar with to prepare?
I don't know who donaire is sparring but if he trained in Oxnard he could have Javier Fortuna spar with him. About the same height as rigo but 4 pounds north of 122. shouldn't make a difference tho. Rigo needs to work on his right hand lead jab because its the weakest punch he has and against donaire, you want that punch to be effective
You can't legitimately score a fight watching it on Mute because you can't hear the clear and effective punches land and a lot of the time you'll end up giving the more active fighter in a fight rounds he doesn't deserve due to work rate. yes Cloud did throw more punches and if you watch this fight on mute and score it for Cloud based on INeffective aggression. Same with the retards who make excuses for Timothy Bradley. You need to hear the punches land. what I do is take my HD over ear headphones and turn up the bass booster on the VLC player and the volume loud enough to where the commentary is just blurry to the point where it WONT affect your opinion on the fight and the headphones really amplify the sound of the punches as if you were in the ring. Judging a fight on mute is the equivalent of letting a judge who is deaf score a fight. It's retarded
All the reasoning in favor of stallone just makes it all the more reason for Bhop to deserve one much more. Bhop was born there and Rocky is a fictional character.
dude, are you for real? Did you even watch the fight? You want to tell me out of all the 12 rounds, round 6 is the most dominant for Hopkins? I just rewatched that round and it is basically almost totally even. I gave that round to Hopkins and marked it as "very close".
If round 6 is Hopkins' "most dominant round" in your opinion, and you scored it 118:110, then your scorecard is...you know what...
you are high as **** in that last minute of rd 6 where the doctor was looking at his cut cloud was fighting like a desperate man. he didn't hurt hopkins in those last 30 seconds. the majority of that rd was dominated by Hopkins there is no way in hell that is an even rd.
Do you know what the problem with you is? You fall for HBO's pro-Hopkins cheerleading. You said round 7 is a "clear Hopkins round". I rewatched that round and I felt Cloud won it. It was somehow close, but I felt Cloud won it. Did you see his bodyshots? Can't you see that Hopkins doesn't do a lot, and 50 % of what he does is shoe shining, meaning throwing punches which don't even connect?
I heard HBO was cheerleading really hard for Hopkins in this round, and I guess Mr. S. Bum Saddler was influenced by the cheerleaders named Lampley and Co.
Or do you want to tell me Hopkins "Clearly won that round" when you watch that round muted?
If you think round 7 is a "clear Hopkins round", then I am done talking with you. What a joke. Round 7 a "clear Hopkins round"?? Here is round 7 (muted):
Stop with that Mute bull$h!t. You need to hear what lands. if you were a boxer would you want a deaf guy to judge a fight? NO so stop that bull$h!t
Acting shouldn't get you into the Boxing Hall of Fame. What Bhop has done will make him a 1st ballot HOF'er and it should get him a statue either where the Blue Horizon used to be or right where Stallones statue is. It is a matter of Real vs Fictional
Where is your round? I wanna know which Round it is in which Hopkins totally dominated Cloud, destroyed him and "took him to school" (as you said)?
Rd 6 Hopkins made him look like a fool and that is the Rd where he cut him up with a PUNCH everyone could see that.
Rd 11 as well. Cloud did nothing

I already completely owned you about round 6, and now listen carefully: don't you ever dare come on a boxing forum and say you know boxing, cause you don't. You wanna tell me round 11 was the "2nd most dominant round of Hopkins"?? Are you KIDDING ME?? The round is razor close and apart from 20 seconds in the last minute in which Hopkins is throwing a few punches, Cloud is basically winning the round.
When I first watched the fight I gave the round to Hopkins with a little headache and marked it as "very close". Now that I rewatched it just 5 minutes ago, I thought it was a total even round and it was basically a drawish kind of round.
And you want to tell me that is Hopkins' most dominant or 2nd most dominant round??
YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF.
You are a moron. Not even Tavoris cloud felt like he even won the fight let alone earned a draw. He was beaten and he knew it and his corner told him. Get it right. Hopkins made cloud look foolish in rd 6 for 2:30 and cloud stepped on the gas during the last 30 seconds. You are one of the lone few who even scored this fight not in favor of hopkins. You need a vision and hearing test because your perception of the fight is way off. If anyone should never go back on a boxing forum its you because you are making a fuggin fool of yourself when you post **** like this.

I scored Hopkins vs Tavoris Cloud a draw and some people told me Hopkins "totally dominated and destroyed" Cloud. Which is completely ridiculous.
And now I want to know: if a fighter destroys another fighter and dominates him with ease, then I am sure there must be a lot of ROUNDS which he dominated, right?
I mean, there must be quite some rounds in which Hopkins was beating Cloud all over the ring, Cloud hanging on for dear life, right?
So here is what I say to those who say Hopkins totally dominated the fight: TELL ME WHICH ROUND OF THE WHOLE FIGHT DID HOPKINS WIN MOST CLEARLY? WHICH ROUND IS IT THAT HOPKINS DOMINATED THE MOST?
Because I would like to know that, because in my opinion out of all the 12 rounds there is NOT A SINGLE ROUND which Hopkins "clearly dominated".
And then I am asking myself - if a fighter doesn't even win one single round in dominant fashion, then how the heck did he "dominate" the whole fight??
So just post that one round which Hopkins dominated the most.
Watch it with headphones in your ears and you will hear that the majority of clean and effective shots were landed by Hopkins. it amplifies punches landed so that watching a fight on mute is about as dumb as letting a deaf guy judge a fight I only gave rds 2 and 5 to Cloud. you need to look at ring generalship in this fight. Tavoris Cloud is retarded when it comes to ring generalship. He is only good when his feet are set and Bhop made him move all night. he took him to school.
118-110 Hopkins
Well then the issue is with Comcast only because Showtime doesn't show fights live out here on the west coast. Many people have comcast and that is still a huge demographic of subscribers gone down the drain who will just stream the fights live on their computers. Mark my words this Hurts GBP more than it helps them
However the majority of people on the west coast have comcast and they don't get Showtime live. for instance if the fight starts at 9:30 ET/PT we on the west coast literally have to wait until 9:30 PM to see a fight that has already happened and everyone is already talking about it on twitter and it just sucks. All those subscribers go down the drain because they wanna watch it live so they stream it on the internet.
No HD east is a problem for those on the west that happen to get live fights.
we don't even get regular definition live out here on the west coast. we have to stream all live showtime fights live.
I was just on Ticketmaster looking for stuff I may be interested in and found this:

Pacman received hate but not as much as Bradley because Pacman didn't act like Bradley after the fight.
Yeah and there is a huge difference between the Marquez fights and the fight Vs Bradley. The Bradley fight wasn't even close and that Bull$h!t about watching a fight on mute doesn't work. You wouldn't let a deaf judge score a fight because clean effective punching is the main thing that is scored when judging a fight.
Pac has about Two years left in him so he'll be the poster boy if he doesn't continue to lose.
Jmm will retire before pac does.

Bradley didn't get his brain examined after the Pacquiao fight. Pac is scheduled to get one of those exams sometime in April. Bradley suffered brain damage from the pacquiao fight and even more from this fight because he chose to fight toe2toe this time. Bradley loses his next fight no matter who it is against unless he takes another long layoff to recover. maybe another 10-11 months or so.
I think he forgot to take the brain examination after the Pacquiao fight. the same one that Pacquiao is gonna take before he comes back to the ring. If Bradley went toe2toe vs Pacquiao and got Knocked out like he would have then they would have respected his heart after that fight. He should have admitted defeat and then go back down to 140.
I think people wouldn't hate him as much if he took the humble approach after the Pacquiao fight. I mean before the fight winner was announced he already basically felt he lost, and said he had to look at the tape.
I feel the biggest mistake of Bradley's father or PR team was not advising him properly, his father is a good man and probably allowed his son to be his own man, but should have stepped in on him and told him to hold his tongue and not boast over this type of victory.
Bradley was once a humble guy, even Showtime tried to get him to trash talk and made a funny video trying to teach him to trash talk because he was such a humble guy.
Bradley is not a trash talking bad guy by nature, and people can tell he isn't, this is why people think he is so fake. He is acting out of character, its not natural to him and its forced. Does he even now this? Maybe he is one of those guys who likes people to hate him so he can pity himself? That is the only thing I can think of he wants to be a victim, he keeps mentioning suicide a lot in his interviews how he wants to die and stuff like that.
I wish Bradley should have just been humble and say "you know what we both fought our hearts out and the judges gave me the score, but I would love to rematch Manny Pacquiao whenever, it was an honor to fight this guy he is a true legend."
Look at Manny, when it didn't goes his way he just accepted it and even congratulated Bradley for the win and said it's the judges decision. He didn't take the JMM crying approach.
Bradley should have kept going on shows saying good things about Manny instead of insulting the guy, I never understood why he had to keep insulting Manny when Manny never said anything bad about him. Its pretty odd, Bradley used to look up to Manny all of a sudden he talks smack on the guy after he got a gift decision? He even went as far to say he damaged Pacman and softened him up for Juan Manuel Marquez to KO him. is this guy serious?
Even Floyd Mayweather when he got that win over Castillo shut his mouth and wasn't boasting and bragging like he whooped his butt, he gave him a rematch.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxVHLuly1sc
He admits defeat before the decision is announced in this video. the russian broadcasting stream decided to turn the in ring mics on and you hear the words coming out of his mouth and they don't sound like the words of a winner
If he really thought he'd won he'd say mayweather will never beat me, mayweather will never stop me
I suspect that this will probably be the next fight for both fighters.. Who you think takes it?
Some said Cotto didn't take Trout serious which accounted for the poor performance. Don't know how true that is, if the same Cotto shows up it should probably be a straightforward Canelo win..
honestly this one is venue dependent. Cotto wont fight anywhere else but Roberto Clemente Stadium or MSG before he retires. that you can count on
Cotto is way past it and his style his tailor made to get KO by Canelo
I'd like to see Canelo fight Lara
I agree. I would like to see Canelo get his ass whooped by Lara but you know GBP isn't gonna let their donkey anywhere near Lara
''Rigondeaux is very open, Nonito's very technical than what Rigondeaux would be'' What?
Garbage fighter, even worse as a trainer.
I'll show you, when ever he throws his straight left hand he's open for a left hook from the conventional stance.
see how he's wide open for Nonitos money shot
http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2012/0915/box_a_rigondeaux_b1_600.jpg Wide Open for anything

You make it sound so easy...

I've seen everything Rigo does and no matter who he has in his corner he has always fought the same way. we have seen everything he brings to the table and is gonna have to deal with the intitial shock when he finds out that he can't hurt Nonito. Nonito is gonna take Rigo's left hand away from him by circling to his left and forcing him to use his jab. Rigo's jab is nothing but a slap, it was a tool that he used in the amatuers to score points and it's useless in the pros because it's week. He's gonna take away Rigo's left hand the same way Hopkins did to Trinidad and make him look foolish like he belongs back in the amatuer ranks

gut and face wide opened for Rigo's left

See how that works? And Donaire LOVES telegraphing his left hook.
Posted from Boxingscene.com App for Android
Donaire walked right through vics punches. We've seen Rigos power on display but not against an elite fighter like Donaire. If he lands his straight left on Donaires chin and he just brushes it off like he did Vics punches, this fight wont go past 6 or 7 rounds. When Rigo finds out that he can't hurt Nonito the fight will be over
I saw Rigondeaux playing dominoes. He should be careful when he's slamming them down. Also everyone knows that you need to have a beer when you play.
cotto made that same mistake vs Mayweather.
I wonder if Diaz is sleeping with him as well. lol
why is donaire the best counter puncher?
I'll say guillermo is more fluid, consistent, and disciplined as a counter puncher and to me thats a flaw for him. I feel that we wont see a change in the way rigo fights. I feel that we have seen everything he has to offer. When he first started fighting, he went to Freddie Roach and maybe that was to help him improve as an Offensive style fighter but we all saw his fight vs Cordoba and under Freddie Roach he just fought a defensive minded fight and unless he knows he has a huge power advantage over his opponent he doesn't fight aggressive. From trainer to trainer, he fights the exact same way everytime and he is probably the most talented 122 lb fighter but by far one of the most predictable. He walked through Ramos and Kennedy and started seeking a KO when he realized that they couldn't hurt him. The main reason why he is fighting Donaire is because he has undoubtably proven that he is the best fighter in that weight class not named Nonito Donaire and regarding Abner Mares, whose style is tailormade for Donaire, he has earned the right to fight Donaire. This will be a great learning experience for Rigondeaux because when he comes back to the ring following his impending loss to Donaire, he will truely know what to change in his boxing ability. I think Rigo will become a better fighter after a loss and change his style. Remember what Sergio Martinez discovered about himself when he fought Paul Williams a second time (insane punching power), Guillermo might discover something similar when he returns to the ring following his loss to donaire.
I think we have seen everything that Rigo brings to the table and the ONLY new thing we will see from him is the trainer in his corner. Other than that, he is too disciplined to change his style because he needs to lose in order for him to convince himself that his style will not work very long in the pros especially against a fighter like Nonito Donaire
So you think Russel Jr has a better chance than Rigo?
neither fighter has a really good chance but Russell has 1 very clear advantage over Donaire (Speed no $h!t) where most of rigo's skills compared to Donaire are arguable between the two.
i must of missed something in this pointless post but where do you say your reason for thinking donaire is the best counter puncher? all i read was a bunch of dumb ass oppinons about rigondeaux
its a message to those who think Rigo is the better counterpuncher.
Donaire is a better counterpuncher point blank period and Rigo is fighting someone who is in a league much higher than his.
