This is why.... you need to stfu.
Enjoy your day.
Btw, Avenue that card is worth my buy for sure. Though I still think Affliction:Banned is the card of the year for MMA.
Cory sprinks has been better relief to me then a sedative
Add John ruiz..
Only fight I ever liked with Ruiz was Tua. Tua-Ruiz is probably on the end of every fight tape I own. I watch Jones-Ruiz every here and there to watch his trainer flip his shit.
C'mon. Someone has to know. I've heard so many different things after asking 4523758972348923 people.
I've heard:
"Go to a doctor."
"Go to a gym."
"Get registered."
I've seen fights of amateur fighters that have never been in a gym. I don't want to go to a gym right now because I can't afford the ones in my city. Sounds crazy to compete without a gym, though I have a guy who's willing to train my first steps.
...he got dropped by a damn jab!:439:
Man, have you know this fool supported your boxing. His goal was to be a pro boxer.
None the less, that was his wat... fourth fight? How many boxers get KTFO?
Stop comparing this shit.
he has a chance, and a good one imo.
but he must be in amazing form to last 15 rounds, not 12 :P,and not make the mistake of trading with margarito.
Exactly what I thought. Maybe if he's in good enough shape to have BETTER stamina than Margarito maybe he can pull it off...... but in those 12 rounds he's going to get hit. We'll see how this well shaped and high stamina is affected in the ring.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggie_Strickland
"Reggie Strickland, alias Reggie Buse or Reggie Raglin, (born September 9, 1968 in Cincinnati, OH) is an American boxer, who is best known for having the most fights of any active fighter during his career(363) and more known losses than any boxer in history (276)"
...holy ****ing shit.
I dont get why so many people think Roy Jones would win this fight. Jones managed to trick everyone in thinking hes the same Jones of old.
He got KO embarassingly in two fights in a row, and got dominated in the 3rd Tarver fight and almost KO.
He then went on fighting Prince Badi, Anthony Handshaw and Tito.
Is it the Hate of Joe that has blinded some many people. Or is it the weight difference that makes people think JOnes may have advantage?
I take it your prediction is for Calzaghe to KO RJJ?
Btw, I don't think anyone is saying or has said he's back... just that the age is close, speed is close, RJJ is more experenced. I think RJJ is a hell of a lot smarter than Calzaghe too.
Damn I got :owned:
But man...Vitali...I underestimated him. Shit.
lulz
I was hopin you weren't gonna take that bet.
Had to come back and see you eat your words.
I also trained Lawrence Clay-Bey (we're sparring tomorrow as a matter of fact) and he lives in your town. Did u know that?)
That's cool you spar with so many guys that are well known. :D I spar for the first time tomorrow. :D
Marquez, to me, is far more dangerous then Pac is to Mayweather. Pac has natural attributes and his abilities to learn and figure out his opponent aren't nearly as good Marquez.
Marquez is the only one that has the brains to hang in there with Marquez. Floyd proved he can work long, work hard, with great athletes. So what's another one.
Marquez is a bigger threat then Pac is for Floyd. Floyd can counter Pac all day long, the aggressor. Just the way he likes it.
Marquez isn't usually the aggressor, and neither is Floyd. In order to BEAT Floyd.. you need to be able to outsmart Floyd in the ring.
And that's Marquez. He has the ability to figure out Floyd.
Actually, Nate did commentary for a few of my club shows, and then he filled in for 2 weeks for Teddy Atlas when Atlas was covering the Olympics last year. He has also been the in-studio guest on ESPN Friday Night Fights. This is something he will pursue when his boxing days are over.
Do you happen to know if Nate is looking for a fight before Hatton/Pac winning, or someone to fight if that fight doesn't take place?
I agree. Lewis sounds like some stupid Pot Head on HBO. He offers no insight at all.
hahaha. I always laugh at how he says "definitely." he sounds like he's ****in RIPPPED.
ps. by ripped i mean stoned.
Paul Williams is simply not on Mayweather level. it would be Diego Corralles all over again.
I think this is the first thing I agree with you on. I don't think he'd get KD as many times, but how the fight progressed... I think it would be a repeat.
i can only picture floyd winning robberies in the US, if he were to fight pacquiao somewhere neutral, floyd would lose, floyd wins a running(boxing) robbery in the US, anywhere unbiased, hed lose, floyd is a HBO protected fighter for the american fan, if Floyd is gone, american boxing is completely dead to many american fans,
Floyds resume is a joke compared to pacs hall of fame resume against hall of famers, Floyds type of big fight would be a gatti(overated), judah(overated), baldomir(o.K. but no skills and is too slow),etc.
look at the heavyweights, americans dont care about any heavyweight, no good US heavyweight fighters exist so all heavyweights are discredited as top p4p rankings,
Wladimir shoulda made it into the p4p rankings by now(even thoug i dont like the guy cause he wins so damn much , maybe vitali as well
Uh, Floyd is gone and has been gone since 2007.
We're doing just fine, thank you.
we have big names in the U.S,our big stars are timothy bradley, kendall holt ,Jeff Lacy, Nate Campbell, Paul Williams, Kelly Pavlik, Roy Jones,Etc
Hopkins and Mosley are the only legit real great fully accomplished fighters we have
Now were in mode of naming guys like Dawson,Williams ,kirkland, etc.a great fighter in p4p already, some people have them in already, you must be one of those people ...................the big queer klit brothers are more desrving than guys like them to be top 10 p4p worthy
the U>S is not fine boxing wise
you're right on something, minus the bold. i'm not desperate enough to put them in p4p ranking. I think dawson will be in there within 2-3 years.
"timothy bradley, kendall holt ,Jeff Lacy"
I've never considered them stars... and probably wont ever be. Floyd comes around every once and a long time, but I don't see american boxing HURTING for someone just like him.
To be fair, I don't see the Taylor 15 or less fights beating the Taylor of today, either.
Nonetheless, I do see Taylor getting the job done. He has to keep his hands up, though.
Same for Froch, and his crappy defense, or even when he moves around with his hands completely down. He seems to slow to have the style he does. I hope Froch thinks he's ready for JT's speed. Froch is too slow to hang.
If you look how Mitchell and Quintana gave williams all type all of hell when they box him and move.. you would understand that Williams would have more trouble with floyd then Floyd with williams...Even with all of williams Physical advan.
to be quite honest I agree. I don't think Williams would convincingly win a single round. Too slow, too wide, and if he is throwing straights the whole fight his lack of speed would only be of disadvantage. Floyd would land half of his punches while Williams would land way, way less.
I can see Floyd throwing great counters, but Floyd would have some trouble with Pac's speed/power combinations. He'd have to adjust and fight a high speed fight.
1st off I think Floyd beats both but Pac is the much harder matchup. He has the speed, the size, the power, and he's a Southpaw. What more do you want?
Zab (beware, i'm not making the comparison of zab and pac, just relating to the topics) was faster, stronger and a southpaw. He didn't do that well against Mayweather. The only real problems that Floyd had was dealing with the speed. Which Manny has pleanty of, and I donno if you read my other posts, these aspects I agree of. The speed and power combination are the key things I see Floyd having trouble with. But JMM laid out the foundation on how to beat Pac.
Now I will say that JMM is bigger then most people admit and I think he will handle the extra weight pretty well but he doesnt have the speed advantage against Floyd, he's not a southpaw, he wont have more power, and he's smart but he's not smarter then Floyd.
I agree, he is not as fast or as strong as Pac. Don't underestimate JMM power, or speed, really. He isn't all of a sudden slow. He DID hang with one of the fastest punchers in the 140 division. JMM finds ways to use his superior ring skills in the ring against fighters with more physical abilities.
I just really dont beleive that an orthodox fighter can beat Floyd at all unless there way bigger.
A way bigger fighter would land a lot less. Unless you find another RJJ of 147. This is similar to the talk of PBF vs Paul Williams. I don't think PW would win more than 1-2 rds.
Its like everyone now thinks that all Floyd can do is move & pot shot but that is so untrue. He just does that because those guys are so big compared to him. Against someone near his own size like JMM, he will walk them down without any fear and will throw alot of shots. No way this fight will be boring. He will come to JMM and I think he will eat him alive "if" he wants to. I could see him letting JMM hang in there just so it wont look like it wasnt an easy fight
I agree. People have made it out that Floyd does not like to fight, but his style is rather cautious in the higher weight divisions. Obviously due to size advantages. Though him having too much confidence, and fighting like he did at lightweight vs Pac is the wrong thing to do. He can outbox Pac any day of the week, and throwing those leaping shots, or even the same style he had at lightweight, he'd get caught far too often to win it big.
Thats deadly. He's on Myspace aswell, he replied to a message I sent him. Only Pavlik and Campbell have replied to my messages haha. Taylor continues to duck me....
oh well...I'm still a fan :P
Paulie the Magic man will give ya a reply!
1st question: Do you not like marg cuz he beat cotto or are you just not a Marg fan? I like Marg. Hard not to respect a man who fights with his style. That is, of course, without cheating (if found guilty) Though I'm not a fan. I'm a fan of crafty, skilled, highly attributed fighters who are also smart. Though don't get me wrong, when there's a scrap with Margo in it, I WATCH.
2nd question: Would you rather see marg banned or Marg suspended and then come back and rematch cotto? No. I'd hope he didn't cheat, and it was something else. I assume Marg has too much pride to cheat or feel the need to. I hope he is not found guilty, resumes his career and does indeed rematch Cotto this coming July.
3rd question: Is there any doubt in your mind that maybe Marg didn't cheat against cotto? Yes. There's more reason for him to cheat against Mosley then there was for Cotto. Mosley said himself, when Marg's hard objects were out of his wraps, that he was stunned quite a few times and he had felt his power. He also knew there was 3-4 more comin' after it. Plus Marg knew Cotto has "too much pride to clench." This worked perfectly for Marg's style at the time.
4th question: Would you rather see marg's carrer go down the tube and boxing take another hit or It not happen at all? Boxing will not take a hit from Marg's career going down the shitter if found guilty.
5th question: If cotto would of cheated would you still be a cotto fan? No. Why would anyone support a cheater?
6th question: Do you still have any respect for marg? If found guilty, no. If found not guilty, of course. The guy (presuming he doesn't cheat) fights with pure balls. You either win on points or you KO him. That or a dramatic beat down.
7th question: Do you think that maybe marg didnt know his wraps were illegal? I don't know. He says he didn't know they were illegal.. but that obviously meant he knew they were wrapped like that. I don't know.. to me if you're labeled with such professionalism you'd think you would know? Sounds worse to me then Donovan McNabb saying he didn't know you could tie a game in the NFL, yet he played it for 20 years.
Mike had gone to split decision with Ricardo Torress, went to a draw with Juan Urango, and went the distance with Kendall Holt. he also knocked out Jesse Feliciano in one round, and Feliciano can take a beating if you saw his fights against Cintron and Tsurkan.
Those are some really dangerous offensive fighters the guy has been in with, and he went the distance with them all. Ortiz toasted this guy in two rounds...
weak stoppage or not, thats pretty impressive.
Wow.
Yeah I never saw anything of Mike.. ever. First time I heard of him. But what you kind of means a lot.
When will this kid be at the top, if he succeeds in all of his fights? 2-3 years?
I take it you're still trying to cope with the loss?
He even says himself that he STOPPED/QUIT/GAVE UP to withdraw himself from any possible and further damage. He could have kept going, and he knew he could of lasted the 12, but he didn't know if he'd be the same Cotto the very next year. In my view, it was the smartest thing to do.
its def more exciting to watch with people ... but only if they're an actual boxing fan. cause i dont want people around who are going to complain about a bout thats not exciting ...
I ordered Cotto-Marg, and invited two other guys, one of which learned how to box in the military and the other knew some mui thai.. and they're close friends of mine so I decided to invite them on over. They brought about 10-15 people with them who knew fuccking NOTHING.
I wished there was never an undercard.
Every ten seconds, "WHY DONT THEY LIKE, GET UP CLOSE AND GO FOR THE KO?"
"WHY IS HE REACHING HIS FRONT HAND OUT REALLY FAST, HES JUST TAPPING HIM"
"I DONT GET IT. IN UFC THEY JUST THROW PUNCHES AND TRY TO KO"
I didn't even get to enjoy Cotto-Marg for the most part.
