Never know what could happen if Manny can keep him at bay with his speed and then get in that perfect punch... And if he keeps running and can stay away long enough or keep his defence tight, Manny should win.
Although saying that, I think people are massively overlooking Cotto in this fight. Since the Margo 'loss', people have thought less of him, and many thought he lost to Clottey too. I think this has lowered their expectations. He's a great fighter with great spirit, showed by his continuation in the Clottey fight. He's quick and powerful, with good footwork and head movement.
Even though I'm a huge Cotto fan, I think Pacman, with Roach in his corner, will take this by decision. Cotto is slowed by his incompetent trainer.
WW, LHW and LWW woud be all exciting to watch.
The whole tournie things are intresting, over here we have the prizefighters and everyody enjoys watching them. The prizefighter series gets alot more people intrested in the sport. My 12year old brother just started gettin into oxing after watching last prizefighter series. now he is begging my mum to order him the Boxing tonight.
Yeah, love the Prizefighters because theyre really exciting to watch and you know the winner in one night, good for up and comers or people to ressurect their careers, but not for the big names.

Agree with everyone here, tournaments can only be good for the sport, and will encourage more people to get intersested in it and stop fighters ducking people. Would love to see the WW tournie and the LWW one. A HW one would be interesting too. Didn't say good, just interesting.
The weird thing is, Cotto is my favourite fighter, and I want him to win, but I think Pacquiao will win. Not sure how, but just got this funny little feeling that Pacman will walk away with one more 'W' on his record.
Credit to judges for scoring it fairly, and I thought that Haye won comfortably if not spectacularly.
As for Froch-Dirrell, maybe the scoring was not fair, but I think Dirrell needed a loss to wake him up and make him realise he'll have to work hard to get far, especially if he's fighting in unknown territory.
Casual boxing fans, like some of my friends, who only know about major fighters, were convinced Valuev would walk it, they were swayed by the countdown on Sky Sports I think, when it said Haye had no stamina etc. But he proved them wrong, boxed cleverley, and more credit must go to him for boxing most of the fight with a broken hand, and for being the first man to hurt Valuev with a shot that wasn't flush with the inside of the glove.
Good stuff :boxing:
My heart says Cotto, head says Pacquiao, got this feeling its gonna end in a TKO in the late rounds or decision, maybe split, but just think Pacquiao will be too fast and get in underneath Cotto's defence to exploit it, and Cotto's face will be mashed up at the end.
I want Cotto to win (favourite fighter) but just think Pacquiao will come out on top, but it will be close, very close.
For a 22 year old it's ok.
For a world champion its very poor.
He has 2 good wins on his resume, Kotelnik and Graham Earl.
It will get better and hopefully it won't be long before he jumps ship to Bob Arum.
Agree, but maybe I'd like to see him go to Golden Boy.
Pacquiao will dismantle Cotto. Bank on it.
No chance. Cotto has a better chin than Hatton and has harder punches than Hatton. He can alsomove his head a lot better
There's a lot of reasons to suggest that he's not injured, but it is a bit weird how on his comeback he has managed to miraculously pick up an injury. If he's scared, he's a wimp - he fought Hatton, who is a lot stronger than JMM, so that gives me reason to believe he is actually injured.
Cotto will beat Pacquiao because he is better, stronger, bigger and more skilled.
Cotto is the top WW in a division full of elite fighters.
P4P Pacman is better than Cotto. However, Cotto is stronger and bigger, and will bully Pacqiuao. Even though people thought the same about Hatton, Hatton didn't move his head, which Cotto can.
Pacman won't stand there and block punches. He'll use his feet and won't give any range to cotto. In other words, he'll move away from cott's punches rather than stand there and block.
But when Pacman moves in, Cotto will counter.
