"Out of the guys i fought, Miguel's the hardest puncher i fought, i know for a fact nobody came close, not even Ricky Hatton."
-Paulie Malignaggi
I just don't see Manny's chin holding up in this fight. ONE well timed punch from Cotto could end this little man's reign in the higher weights.
discuss...
Can anyone post a picture of Cotto weight in vs Malignaggi and another vs Mosley or Quintana

wat? clinching? i saw a shitload of that.
But anyway, that Cotto-Malignaggi fight was at 140. He hasn't looked as devestating at 147. And he also hasnt been able to attack the body

cotto nuthuggers just dont want to give hatton credit for beating paulie more convincingly than cotto did. They dont realise that people arent saying hatton is better than cotto but that he had a better style for beating paulie .
HAtton is a good fighter his problem was 2 things; Mayweather Sr. and thinking he was going to be too much for Pac that he would not need to cover up.
OH man was he wrong. But I do think that Cotto would have beat Hatton at 140 a la Victoriano Sosa.
I didn't see Hatton doing this to Paulie

That's what happens when you keep your hands down the entire fight. What is up with his style? Whether or not Pacquiao loses--he sure as hell won't look like Malignaggi.
lol@ hatton not gettin credit for beatin paulie from no one why the hell do pppl hate ricky so much he was a great champion and always fun 2 watch he beat paulie like no 1 els did cotto lumprd paulie up like he said he hit harder but ricky i thought won almost every rd while i had paulie winnign rounds in the cotto fight ..what a shame

Malignaggi wasn't competitive for even one minute in the Hatton fight. Of course he has excuses...
Well lets hoping Pac hears this and dont take Cotto lightly, not that he would ever do.
And because Cotto is supposedly much better than hatton as Paul said. Cott should do much better than Hatton did. But because Hatton didnt do that great its not saying much.
Well said my friend! Comparing boxers against the opponents they got in common is something that we shouldn't do, is fun but not accurate. Boxing is soooo unpredictable, one punch can change history, ask Chavez. We all know how a strong both of this 2 fighters are and we know their records. Cotto the strong smart bully, Pac the fast out of the book one. Anything can happen. But to me Cotto would kill Pac any day, and to me Hatton was giving Manny trouble before the one punch. Hatton just not listen to his corner, remember SR asking him to get back to what they practice and stick to the plan at the corner, he is not a smart boxer he's a fighter. Cotto on the other hand is a fighter with boxing skillz, and no matter what, he always have a game plan and comes ready for everything. I know he looked really bad with Joshua and the cheater thing. But he keeps coming until he can no more.
Malignaggi already said Cotto way way way way way way way way better than Hatton in an interview with boxingscene at Yankee stadium.

I dont doubt Cotto can hit hard. But why he didnt knock out a pointy chinned weak looking man like you i will never know.
And the fact that he couldnt, makes me feel good about Pacs chances.
To Paulie's credit, he has an excellent chin and alot of heart.
And I think that fight was at 140, and Cotto has grown into his power more at 147.
Either way, I am really excited to see this fight and see how Cotto's power affects Pac and vice versa.
Cotto damaged him more. Hatton beat him a lot more easily.
Definitly true. However we didnt see Paulie saying anything about whose the better fighter or who fought better against him, just that Cotto has more power. And although Hatton won a TKO, we all know it was not necessary for McGirt to stop the fight, and that Paulie took more damage in the Cotto fight.
Paulie got worked, but he was right when he said "I am better than being stopped." He deserved to finish the fight imo.

some of rickys punches in the second rnd actually troubled manny, at that point i thought that manny may realise that he should be competing at LW but that left hook came out of nowhere!!
i think cotto will struggle at first with mannys movement and he may well be feeling lethargic from making 145. howeveri think provided he doesn't suffer a major cut or a KO in the first 2 rounds i think he will win. i think he will grow into the fight and i see him dropping manny with a body shot.
this fight reminds me alot of hopkins vs DLH.
or Bernard vs Tito
