For making boxing history. Damn lucky Brits, on a sidenote you don't deserve fair scoring after what happened to Dirrell in Britain soil.
I thought Dirrell beat Froch better than Haye beat Valuev and he still lost. This comes to show how dirty boxing is becoming.
Taking nothing away from Haye of course. He's got a great attitude and everyone must have thought "the guy's crazy" when you saw him in the ring with the Giant...
David Haye won more clearly than Direll, Direll should have got a 2 round decision in my eyes.
Reasons I think Haye win was more clear.
1. Direll got battered in the 6th, and he was clinging on for his life, no such round where valuev did anything to Haye.
2. Direll was hugging up Froch far too often, even got a point deducted for it.
3. Froch actually landed some hammering blows to Direll like in the 6th round and a few more in other rounds, where as Valuev barely got a punch on Haye, he didnt get a effective punch on Haye in any of the twelve rounds.
4. Direll wanted to complain too much, but any time he got exposed he was holding on
5. David Haye didnt have a scratch on his face, Dirells face was swollen, ok David Haye broke his hand, If he didn't maybe he would have gone for throwing like he did in the last round but earlier on, but we will never know.
its funny i have always compared froch too valuev an dirrell a less dangerous version of haye
dirrell and haye both fought the perfect fight against their respective opponents (haye with one hand) difference is one got robbed and one didnt
what did people really expect Haye to do? Go in there and trade?
You bet. That was the trash talk he'd served up. Instead, he played scared for eleven rounds.

for what its worth there was not one single British official scoring the Dirrell fight, same as with Haye.

In light of Dirrell vs Froch, Valuev was 100% robbed.
The same Brits that said: you have to TAKE a champs belt (i.e Froch's), are now saying the opposite. Haye's big mouth was all hype when it came to the fight. Only Valuev wanted to seriously trade, and Haye was running away constantly.
All respect to Haye but what about the poor big guy sitting with no belt.Valuev should have got the decision so should Dirrell.Hype and showbiz/boating must have won him the fight. The best man lost, sorry.
i didn't know complaining lost you points in a boxing round. where in the rule book does it say that?
dirrell got robbed.
you dont silly. But it all adds up to the judges impression of the fight.
yep, even though it was for only two rounds, lets just give the fight to other guy...
dirrel won that fight dont get me wrong im just saying he didnt help himslef.
the thing that direll did that seriously worked against him was complain complain complain then clinch complain clinch spoil fall on the floor complain some more then clinch a few more times. This made him look like he was loseing the fight because he was looking afraid. Haye stuck and moved didnt clinch too often or complain.

The thing i find funny is people calling it double standard! Froch fight was in uk and when to home guy. But hayes fight was in germany with valuev being home fighter. (based there).

Credit to judges for scoring it fairly, and I thought that Haye won comfortably if not spectacularly.
As for Froch-Dirrell, maybe the scoring was not fair, but I think Dirrell needed a loss to wake him up and make him realise he'll have to work hard to get far, especially if he's fighting in unknown territory.
Casual boxing fans, like some of my friends, who only know about major fighters, were convinced Valuev would walk it, they were swayed by the countdown on Sky Sports I think, when it said Haye had no stamina etc. But he proved them wrong, boxed cleverley, and more credit must go to him for boxing most of the fight with a broken hand, and for being the first man to hurt Valuev with a shot that wasn't flush with the inside of the glove.
Good stuff :boxing:
