Kessler has by far the better record at the weight. He might not come out on top against all the others, but he would and should enter all those fights as the favorite.
That means you see an upset in the list, who do you think beats him?
King arthur and he hasn't even started at 168. If the pavlik fight isnt gonna happen i hope he goes to 68 and whoops on these fighters
I rate him and would have added him to the list but you cant add someone to the list of 168lb fighters if he hasnt even moved up yet, he still has unfinished buisness in his own back yard at Middleweight. I think Pavlik may duck him though.
Taylor. Kessler kayos the rest but loses on points to Taylor. That's my crystal ball.
Taylor is a threat he has a good jab and has a touch of class about him, Kessler stops the other two fighters.
lets not forget that Taylor just got past Hopkins who has a poor workrate, and looked shit against Ouma and Spinks. Infact i thought he lost to both Spinks and Wright to be honest. So although he maybe a good performer when he gets it right, he also has many off days too.
I still think Kessler wins unless Taylor brings all of his potential to that one fight.
Most people on here wont respect him. If Khan wins they will say Barrera was shot and if Barrera wins they will say that they knew Khan was a bum all along. I personally think Barrera is way past his best, but this fight is still a step up in class for Khan.
I see it as a good match up, the betting seems to be split. Khan should win but MAB could well roll back the years and take Khan out if Khan decides to trade.
The importance of this fight is huge for both men. If Barrera wins he may get a shot at winning a title a his 4th weight if he loses its clearly the end of the road for him. If Khan wins it boosts him in the ratings and maybe a title shot sometime soon, if he loses it will be hard to pass this guy off as a event headliner. This is a crossroads fight.
Kessler and Taylor, and I still say that's the best fight that can be made at 168.
Maybe, but can the fight be made, as another poster stated Kesslers promoter isnt exactly the cream of the crop. He seems happy filling out Danish arenas with Kessler headlining against whoever will travel there.(like frank warren did with hatton years ago.)
yeah true, it wont take many shots to put mr iron chin down though!
thats what im hopin for anyways
The chin is a big problem for Khan, he has been shook up a few times now. Its strange that Warren is calling for a shot at JMM after this fight. JMM is another small guy, even though he has fantastic skills but not too much power. I thought they would have been calling out Prescott for a rematch to set the record straight.
Maybe they rate Khans skills but have no faith in his chin.
Any idea what time the main fights are on.
Im thinking Bradly pryce, enzo, Cook and Khan v Mab.
Im goin with a casual fan thats going for the sake of going to a big event. There are 12 fights on, doors open at 5.30. So i think by the time Khan comes on at 10.30 ish as a rough guess, my mate will have lost interest by then if we get in at the start.
So we dont want to get in too early but dont want to miss the big fights.
anyone else want to see khan get sparked by another left hook?
That would be me, but i dont see it happening. Khan has a big size advantage as well as the speed factor. Khan ud
Tim Witherspoon and Tony Tucker would probebly have a lot of success in todays division.
I can seen Pinkln Thomas and Ruddock having good success too.
Those are the two that i would go for
I think Ruddock could do business today, also Tua if he counts would be ud champ if he were prime today
Tua in the 80's?
A shed load of hate threads out there by idiots with no respect for the sport. The maker of this thread asked people not to bother with hater comments, and the assholes still ignore it.F.ucking sad cases.
True, this is a serious post for boxing fans. maybe he should added no infants allowed to the title.
How about if he has any regrets about not fighting in America sooner
or
If there is any fighters out there that he would have liked to have faced but didnt get the chance for one reason or another
or
What is his opinion of Steve Collins refusing to face him.
Every time he hit him to the body with his left he hurt him bad, great display.
1st time I've seen him fight, I'll def watch again.
Sutherland looked pretty good too for only his 2nd fight.
On another note, anyone else think Hatton still looked a bit chubby?
I was impress with Sutherland aswell but its early days yet, time will tell.
Dont worry about Hattons condition. He bloats up alot inbetween fights but always enters the ring shreaded. Him lookin chubby at this point in the preperations is nothing new.
Hes matured as a fighter, but i think he has found his level. I dont see him as a potential world champ. I'd like to see him get a shot tho, after he makes a few defences of his title.
Did not Amir Khan ran over some poor bastard in his fancy sports car?
Yes
That's Prince Naseem Hamed you dick head.
If your gona rant and criticise someones character, be sure to get the right decade and person. Sheesh.
QUOTE]
Khan has ran over someone before, but the other poster had got him mixed up with Naz. It was a seperate incident. Im not 100% but i think hes been done for speeding before aswell.
Despite that, i wouldnt say Khan was a good role model for the way he dismissed the ABA's as though they ment nothing. But that was back before his first pro fight.
John David Jackson vs Jorge Fernando Castro 1
Juan Manuel Marquez vs Julian Wheeler (BS stoppage but still fits the criteria)
Rocky Marciano vs Jersey Joe Walcott 1
Mike Weaver vs John Tate
Joel Casamayor vs Michael Katsidis
Joe Calzaghe vs Byron Mitchell
Antwun Echols vs Charles Brewer
Matthew Saad Muhammad vs Richie Kates
Archie Moore vs Yvon Durelle 1
Israel Vazquez vs Rafael Marquez 3
Lamon Brewster vs Wladimir Klitschko
Chris Eubank vs Michael Watson 2 (Great fight, tragic ending)
Nigel Benn vs Gerald McClellan (Same as above)
Joe Frazier vs Oscar Bonavena 1
etc.
Thats one i didnt expect anyone to mention, good one.
How about Foreman v Moorer
khan shouldve gotten with steward and learn to fight like wlad..lol..jab jab.hold right hand
Im sure it was ment as a joke, but if he faught in that style i think he would have a lot of success. Hes hugh at the weight and has the speed too.
I think Khans size and reach advantage will be the difference, he has fast hands so im expecting him to pick MAB off at range.
Khan by ud
Barrera is years past his best but will still cause big problems for Khan should khan try and play to the crowd and trade.
Even though im not realy a fan, i think Khan could reach a good level if he turned into a points fighter, who uses a fast jab and size advantage to pick up the win.
Only problem is that they have been trying to market him as the new Naz (a ko artist that puts bums on seats)who wasnt exactly a boring points fighter now was he.
This is a step in the right direction if he would like my respect..
Im sure that this olympic silver medalist, millionaire, huge ticket selling lightweight contender would be devestated to hear that he didnt have your respect.
I find it very hard to believe that any pro, especially one who is near to the top of the division would get in the ring without a single round of sparring under his belt.
If true its completely unproffesional and it has cost him his career. At least on the big stage anyway.
I would go for Hamed in this one, i would even give him the edge on power aswell. Freitas looked devastating against low level opposition but Naz seemed to take the power with him when he stepped up a level.
Naz ko in 4 or 5 rounds, i think he is one of the most gifted fighters the uk has ever produced. Its just a shame that the fame side got to him and he became to big for his boots.
Thats the things. He doesnt
Personally i dont look into the Lightheavyweight fights too much, but at 168 he was totally dominant for over a decade.
Im going to guess you havent been watching boxing for too long (or maybe not anything outside of America), so maybe you dont know that much about his opponents at super middleweight. But even so, you must have been watching long enough to have watched the Kessler fight.
Or was he just a bum too.
I would like to see MAB roll back the years and take Khan out.
I just cant see it though, i think MAB is well past his best ant Khan will use his speed and range to box his way to a decision.
If Khan plays to the crowd and decides to trade he will pay the price, he was almost taken out by Mike Gomez, and this is a big step up from that sort of level.
Yet another lame Calzaghe hate thread, the worrying thing is that some morons on this site actually believe that Joe was garbage and doesnt have a legit win.
