i think the cut will play a big role in this fight. its a matter of when will cotto time pac, and when will the cut open up :cool2:
What cut are you talking about? The fight hasn't begun yet and you have open a cut up to Cotto's face already? No way.
Im a huge Manny Pacquiao fan and I think Cotto is favored (and most likely) to win. I don't understand why most people, even some Cotto fans, think Pacquiao has a better chance at winning.
Why Cotto fans think that Pacquiao has a better chance to win? If you read carefully this post some of them explain it to you. Some of them think that Cotto has lost a lot of stamina due to the excess of punishment received in his last fights. And by the other hand others think that speed is Pacquiao's most lethal weapon that Cotto won't be able to match. I heard some sport analyst in P.R. radio talking about Cotto's limitations for this fight: "You can't face what you can't see" he said. The question is if Cotto will see Pacquiao's punches coming at light speed all over his face? I hope so.
I dont think Arum will let money be an issue now. Hes got that on lock. This deal is done.
Co-sign. This fight means too much money for Arum and he won't let slip it away of his hands. He'll set the fight anyway.
pac/cotto should be canceled because every fockin day ricans cry, bitch, complain and moan about the catchweight.
I'm seriously, u ricans don't deserve it. Pac should fight someone who's fans don't bitch and moan so much.
Please email miguel-cotto@gmail.com and tell him not to make the fight.
Oh, yeah! And BoxingScene doesn't deserve haters and racists on this forum either.
You may not agree with me but you can see in youtube the fight of duran vs benitez, another puertorrican champion with a Cotto very similar style. Them both were in their prime when they faced each other and Benitez gave to Duran a lesson of boxing and won by decision. I think that Cotto vs Duran would be a copycat of that fight.
Without the hand injury the result of the first match would've been different. In a rematch without hand injury and if Clottey pressure Margarito, Clottey wins.
Oh it was absolutely after Williams. Margs was one foot from the boxing grave. A loss after Williams would have meant the end of his career.
Maybe you're right. If you playback all the fights post Williams, you will see him literally crushing his opponents until Mosley fight. I remember the face of pain in Cintrón when they fought.
Yes, I think he will. He has few ones interested, and Clottey looked little aggressive in his last fight with Cotto. If Clottey fights Williams like he fought Cotto, he'll lose for sure.
Cotto won the fight and Clottey won 1 Oscar as best actor. He made a couple of shows trying to catch the attention of the referee to his favor unsucessfully.
He made a great fight and really is a great warrior but Cotto with a cut in the left eyebrow , the blood flowing , and limited vision could overcome Clottey and won the fight. I give credit to Cotto for that as I gave Clottey credit for fight Margarito 12 rounds with just one hand. But I think Clottey should respect the decision as a good professional. And believe me: the decision would had been wide open without that cut in the left eye. We'll see what happens in a posible rematch.
Mosley words make sense to me. But I think that the reason why Margarito couldn't hit Mosley , was because of his new trainer. He should get all the credit because he built a completely new Mosley and he played and important role in Mosley's flawless victory. I wonder what would happened if that fight would have been two years ago.
Roach's comments are just annoying. One day he wants Pacquiao to fight Cotto, the other day he wants his man to fight Mayweather, and now Mosley the other. Come on!!! And all of this must be done in his own terms or no deal. The only reason he wants to face Cotto and Mosley in a lower weight is because he wants to dehydrate them to the bone and then crush them like they did with De La Hoya. Isn't easier for Pacquiao to gain some weight than for Mosley and Cotto to lose weight? If his boxer is so great, what's Roach afraid of?

Thats probably true come to think of it.
Fukk it tho im sick of all these catch weight fights, Move up or Dont - who gives a fukk
Pac brings money and excitement but the WW's dont need em, theres enough talent and names there for them all to get paid well and have good fights
Cotto/Mosley will be FOOLS to go below 145
That's right! He truly brings money but right now the elite fighters are WW. What would happen if any elite welterweight wants to accept the Roach conditions? What interesting fight is left for Pacquiao?

FFS. Why the hell does Khan deserve a shot, and what makes him think he won't end up flat on his back? This is completely ridiculous.
It may sound ridiculous but we're talking about the two fastest boxers in the sport today. I say in terms of speed it would be an interesting fight.
I might be wrong but I can smell the Arum's move. He knows that Cotto's career won't last too long. Even if he wins his next fights he already said that he will retire maybe next year. By the other hand, Chavez JR. is so much young and could last a lot more than Cotto in boxing. Arum could be taking advantage of this to use Cotto as a stepping stone to crown Chavez JR. as a champion and make him a superstar.
The fact that Arum is missing is that Chavez JR. has a lot more fights than Cotto and has received a lot of more punishment than Cotto due to his lack of defense.
Arum could take the risk, but Chavez JR. won't last like champion even if he defeat Cotto because he simply won't pass the big names right now in 154lb. and won't even make the 154 again without troubles.
Canelo is a classic Mexican Warrior. Never quits, never ducks an opponent. and always willing to face the strongest competition, no matter the results. Not like Chavez Jr. definitely. Shame on you Chavez Jr. !!!
I think that Pacquiao trying to cherry pick the easiest opponent ran out of opponents and ended up in the toughest contender available due to Bradley's style. Pacquiao's fans should be prepared for a big disappointment night.
This will be a typical situation when Arum doesn't want to expose or risk one of his fighters to a potencial loss with nothing to gain. I choose Gamboa over Caballero but Caballero is a fighter that could cause trouble to any boxer in his weight. I'm sure Arum won't take the risk.
He said the same thing the first time around, then he bended after being threatened of being stripped if he doesn't fight Pacquiao at the 145 catchweight.
He'll fight Pacquiao under 150 if the fight happens.
I hope Cotto stays firm on his word and doesn't give any special concessions to this piece of clown. The first time Cotto was forced to fight under Pacquiao's rules. I hope it won't happen again. I think that if Cotto's not drained and with the right training by his new trainer, the result wouldn't be the same.
In this fight he'll need more than Roach in his corner. He'll need Jesus, the 12 disciples and the whole Olympus by his side to have a chance to win. Good luck to him. :lol1:
