This isnt pro or anti black or white or any other colour before any of you dumb racist PBC fans jump on it. This is a Boxing thing.
Uncle Al Haymon is blocking his fighters taking the biggest and best fights out there becasue he doesnt want to have to try put in as much money as his competitors and he doesnt want those competitors to promote or host those fights.
Uncle Al Haymon the "ADVISOR" to his fighters is advising them to say no to the fights they claim they want because it suits his business needs. DEONTAY WILDER, a prime example turning down all those career high offers to face Joshua. Considering what Ruiz did to Joshua Wilder, his team and his fans are convinced Wilder would do an even better job. So why say no?
Why say no to that and go back to taking fights he has aleady had for no extra belts and nowhere near as much money? WHY? CUZ IT SUITED AL AND HIS BUSINESS MODEL. But this man is supposed to be an advisor for the best interests of his fighters.
Im seeing more anti Hearn and anti DAZN threads because of this KSI Logan Paul thing. It all looked a good success to me and this morning theres lots of none Boxing fans buzzing about Boxing. They may all disappear again and not be interested in real Boxing but where as we are seeing threads about how last night was bad for Boxing the truth is the opposite. And most of these threads are coming from ppl who will defend anything PBC related. Yet right now its the PBC who are crushing this sport. Especially State side.
as i recall joshua said give me 50 million and i will fight wilder. then wilder said ok we will give you 50 million then aj said no thanks. i always saw aj blocking the wilder fight because he knew wilder would ko him. aj also ducked ortiz. aj was making 25million fighting British soup cans and did not want to risk fighting a real threat. Ruiz just didnt allow aj to beat him.
Have you forgot what really happened? Mayweather accused Pacquioa of juicing, which was denied. Then Pacquioa learned about Mayweather’s three failed tests that hadn’t been disclosed by USADA. Pacquioa sued Mayweather and received an undisclosed cash settlement and Mayweather didn’t say a bad word about Manny again.
Read the Thomas Hausner stories from that time. I’m (now) a Mayweather fan and I admit his amazing record has some asterixes.
Come on man seriously. Floyd never failed a drug test. Floyd may be the most hated boxer ever behind Jack Johnson. USDA would never protect Floyd. And what about all the excuse pac gave, scared of needles, makes him too weak, it's against his religion. And how would the peds help Floyd? He is not a fighter that relies on power. He is always in great shape. His issue was his hands not his stamina.
Roach know his stuff and is an elite trainer, do we believe him about how this fight goes or do we believe Wilder nuthuggers who have hyped Ortiz up to be a complete beast with the only evidence of this to be that he fought Wilder and lost.
Lol you can believe roach all you want and sing his praise to the milky way but I really suggest you go back and look at some of his previous fight prediction and how far off he was AJ and his camp had plenty of chances to fight king Kong after a full camp and not some super short camp with a offer made on such a short notice. Ortiz is called the most avoided boxer of the division for a reason and not just by Wilder fans. If they are so confident they will beat Ortiz, why didn't they fight him instead of JM. Ortiz is a much bigger name and it would have shut up plenty of nay Sayers.
Why not? Ortiz did say he'd be ready at a weeks notice for the Wilder rematch. Plenty of time here to train if he's in the gym already ticking over.
How can AJ give Ortiz a full camp when there is only over 5 weeks to go till fight time? AJ didn't plan on Miller failing a test and f3cking things up.
Sid I do get they wanted an American fighter for AJ to beat up in America. When I say give Ortiz a full camp I am referring to a different fight date. I don't think you can blame AJ for JM screwing up. They can pick anyone except some total soup can. Would love to see AJ vs Ortiz with both fighters having a full camp to be at their best so no excuses for the loser.
Ortiz is an undercard fighter, he had no name. there is no way he has better publicity in the state than JM.
Dude more people know who Ortiz is over Jm. If you want to limit the scope to the state of NY, you could possibly have a point. But no way do more people know who I'm is over Ortiz. His fight with Wilder put him on the national map.
Sky acknowledge AJ as the best, so why would they have any doubts? They wouldn't have had AJ fight Wlad after 18 fights if there were any worries. Nor fight Whyte, Parker, Povetkin either.
Sky need to sell the PPV's so a good opponent is needed. Ortiz fits the bill, but it seems he doesn't want it after shouting his mouth off that he does. But hey, he's just taking after the other coward Deontay Wilder. All moth, no action.
So again, why didn't AJ and crew offer Ortiz a fight with a full camp not a few weeks to prep for a super fight. As for Ortiz not jumping at the offer, some fighters really enjoy the time between fights and need a full camp to get back into fighting shape and work on timing and reflexes. AJ and camp lose credibility for trying to slam Ortiz. Looks like a cheap attempt to gain a advantage. AJ fan boys always say Ortiz is 52 well then his old azz really needs a full camp to be in the best shape. After this you won't hear AJ camp mention Ortiz.
People who know about Conor's power favor Conor. Conor will punch through Floyd's guard. Then Floyd has nothing.
Connor has never faced a fighter like Floyd. He will swear Floyd is a magician by how well Floyd disappears. Floyd has faced many boxers that can crack. But Connor has not faced a boxer like Floyd.
As long as the casuals continue to believe in Floyd, McGregor will remain the underdog. Whether fair or not, that's how it is.
The casuals are with Connor. Conor is the underdog rightfully so.
The truth is Mayweather won both and Pacquiao lost to Horn.
Pacquiao has used itchy socks, gloves, blood test made him weak, leg cramps, shoulder injury, common cold and the ref as excuses for his losses. He's a serial excuse maker.
Anyone would have to admit those were some weak, wack excuses. But serial excuse maker is too funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand how this is a excuse. The cold was a embarrassing excuse. This is facts. It was a fact Horn was bigger and stronger then Pac. Horn also cheated with the ref not calling it that is also a fact.
Its also a fact that pac lost. No matter what you or pac or anyone says the record will reflect pac lost, horn won.
The truth Is he lost to Castillo and fought to a draw with Maidana.
The facts are , he Is full of excuses just as you claim Pacquiao Is.
So this justifies pacs sour grapes?
That Pacquaio apparently said he would consider fighting Thurman is an unexpected surprise. If it was the Manny of old that's a definite victory, or probable win, but now you would have to favour all the young lions.
I saw that as a joke quote. he has no desire whats so ever to go in the same building as one time. He will never get into the ring with anyone decent. he is doing like all ways, using these guys names to hype his next move. Just like they said pac would fight Crawford. look how those negotiations are going.
You need to check your sexual preference when you're focused on Floyd when he is surrounded by beautiful women. How does Floyd look girlie? he standing there. either that was a corny joke that's fine. or you have some secret obsession for another grown man.
good post. if you notice though a lot of the pac fans are always making some type of homo themed comments. its just really tired. and im not talking about the pac fans that want to talk real boxing, im talking about the ones that have no boxing input and are just pissed at the world that they boy got beat in his last two fights. but me personally the one in the checkered dress can get it from me.
If you think JMM is a cherry pick than you don't know sh*t about boxing.
oh please. your one of the morons that called JMM old and fat and would get a brutal ko. you spoke in a very disrespectful manner about JMM. and like i said then i say know and its confirmed by your mea culpa post,YOU DONT KNOW SH1T ABOUT BOXING!!!!!
This is probably the biggest backfiring cherry pick in my lifetime. Evander Holyfield was right around the corner yet Iron Mike gave Buster Douglas for a supposed easy pay day. No one gave Buster Douglas a chance.
For Pacquiao vs Marquez 3, the majority of Pacquiao Fans thought that Marquez was a dangerous and credible opponent. We had two fights on the indicator of how the fight will play out. However, the media and Pacquiao haters were dismissing this fight outright. They were expecting domination, Marquez was too small, i'm not excited about this fight, the Pactards are just hyping up the fight, etc.
Only haters and those delusional about Pacquiao's skills think this was a cherry pick.
i disagree with the bold print. if you go back and read the post of the average pac fan, you will see most of them had pac by ko win. and some even said JMM would probably spend the night in the hospital. i posted they were crazy and asked how many times have pac ko'd JMM in the first 2 fights? that bit of history didnt seem to matter to pacs fanatical fans. they were very wrong and i posted the 3rd fight would end in controversy just like the first two.
How can you cherry pick a guy you went life and death with twice?
Also, people complained about the catch weight, but while I said it prior to the fight, can anyone honestly say size was a factor after what went down Saturday?
And Age? yes Marquez is 38 but let me ask you this; Would any SMW and LHW be called a cherry picker for going after a 44 year old Bernard Hopkins (keep in mind almost all of those guys are younger than Manny by 3-5 years)? Also almost all the legit 160, and 154 are almost a decade younger than Martinez.....would it be considered Cherry picking if they went after a 37 year old Sergio Martinez?
This is a classic example of people seeing what they want to see.
IMO its not so much the age but the fight stipulations. the fight could have been made at 140 but top rank chose the wt of 144 they saw JMM get dominated by floyd and thought the additional wt would slow JMM down and make him an easy ko victim. so thats where the cherry picking view comes from. they were so cocky. "god cant save JMM from getting ko'd" bone head ariza LOL at them.
Make no mistake, this was an attempt by team Pac to outdo Mayweather without getting in the ring with him, and it backfired. Team Pac was so confident of a KO in this one, one of 'em said even God couldn't help Marquez.
LOL i guess god showed ariza not to use his name to hype a prize fight.
How did it 'backfire' if he won? You clowns need to get something called perspective, it's only $9.99 at your local grocery store. Actual cherry picks that back-fired:
Ali-Spinks I
Baer-Braddock
perspective is just that your perspective.and in theory oscar v pac would have been a cherry pick but, they made oscar fight at 147 he hasnt fought at 147 in 7yrs so they beat oscar at the scale. had they fought at 154 and pac won it would have been a great cherry pick upset. but since oscar had to wt 147 ON FIGHT NIGHT he was defeated at the scale before they fought.
I mean, if we're talking fights that are supposed to be easy but ended in upset, there have been countless this decade alone.
Pacquaio fought Morales just to stick his name on his resume on his way to bigger things. Morales wasn't supposed to have a chance. How about Mosley-Margarito? Another easy formality gone all wrong. Pavlik-Hopkins was supposed to be Kelly's coming out party. Ever heard of Rumble in The Jungle? Ali, having lost to Frazier, was supposed to be easy work for Big George.
It **** like this that makes boxing exciting to watch in the first place.
good post great historical perspective. kelly was suppose to be the first fighter to ko b-hop and shane was suppose to be another big name victim for margarito. good work paulf.
marquez should go beat bradley for his belt and fight floyd again to see if the weight was really the reason why he lost against him.
if you watch the fight and know what you are looking you would have to conclude the wt was not an issue. floyd did not lean on jmm, did not go for the ko, he just completely out boxed jmm. and the same would happen again. pac and roach thought the wt was an issue thats why they had jmm move up to 147 when they could have fought at 140. but they took for granted jmm would be easy pre and pac would ko jmm and look good. oh well.
As we know Marquez just koed the f*** out of PAC but now he's saying he might fight Bradley for the wbo belt. Although bob stated he could fight the winner of Rios-Alvarado, Bradley or Marquez again it seems as if Marquez doesn't want to give pacquaio a chance of redemption. When Marquez asked for a rematch he got one so why doesn't he give PAC a chance? It's only fair. PAC deserves a chance to redeem himself.
imo jmm is doing to pac what pac did to him after the 1st fight. pac made jmm wait 4 years to get back in the ring with him. jmm has been getting paid crumbs and he wants the top pay so he is moving on to greener pastures. you cannot blame him.

If that makes you feel better sleeping at night sugar nipples, then think that all you want.
sugar nipples........hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!
I don't think floyd would last more than 3 rounds. Remember were talking about a Shane that looked unbeatable at that point in time.
Pac vs Shane at 135 is a much more interesting fight now in this fight i would have to take shane because pac has no defense and would eat plenty of two fisted bombs from shane. shane would kill pac inside of four rounds. its floyds defense and boxing acumen that always sets him apart from all other fighters. along with the uncanny ability to make infight adjustments. if a man does not beat floyd in the first 3 rounds, floyd re calculates and blast off with his foe befuddled and bruised up. some of you forget boxing is called the sweet science for a reason. eventhough its a violent sport its a thinking mans game. and he that out thinks, wins.
You are wrong, Forrest had only average speed. What happened i that first fight was that Forrest had a powerful and accurate long jab, and also a very solid right hand which Mosley didn't seem to know how to protect against. He was wide open for it the whole fight, and i remember it distinctly as being the first time I noticed this Mosely weakness. The second fight could have been a draw.
As for a Mayweather fight, Mosley was unbeatable at 135, and not only that, he was devastating, and went for the jugular every second of every fight. He had 9-10 title fights and won by a big KO each time, except, I think against Holiday when he won the title. I believe that Mayweather would do his usual running game with occasional brilliant combinations when he was sure he wouldn't get hit.
again you show how little you know about the sweet science. floyd does not run from anyone. its called setting traps and putting your foe in the position you want him to use the weapons you want to use. too many here are awed by these fights where one man is fighting a soup can and looks fantastic. until he runs into a man that is a student of the sweet science then he has 3 fights where the outcome is not positive and the 3rd most thought the boxer beat the clubber. so now the clubber fights the boxer for a fourth time and the end will still be unsatisfied for many because the powerful promoter will ensure the clubber comes out on top so he can make mega millions vs floyd. oh its true!!!!!
mosley probabley sparks him, feet too fast, hands too fast, counter puncher too, floyds gonna eat leather, ya know, considering what mosley did to him with the one and only power punch he landed flush, and he had that mean lead left hook back then also
shane was NEVER a counter puncher. he was always an attack dog that came at you until he got you. floyd beats shane the same way he just beat him. floyd would counter an frustrate shen all night. and considering floyd called out shane numerous times and shane shamlessly ducked floyd. i have to say shane also knew he couldnt handle the fast hands and feet along with superb defense of pretty boy floyd.
shane wanted no parts of floyd when Shane was in his prime and was undefeated. remember that
how soon people forget. floyd also called out oscar who ducked floyd saying too much risk and not enough reward.
merchant and lamphly are very irritating. they do have bad comments for floyd. as a commentator i want unbiased views. if you listen to those two and didnt see the fight you would swear the fighter they didnt like was getting killed. they call out every punch of one fighter and ignore a lot of the other fighters punches. idc if they prefer one style over another. they should offer unbiased commentary.they are a joke and a disgrace to the sport of boxing. give me manny stewart any day.he dont like floyd but he gives unbiased commentary. and thats what a true pro does.
Sugar Ray and Hagler were gentlemen (but not compliant cats) respected by everybody.
Roy back in days was very arrogant, Floyd is arrogant too, but also has an horrible personality, racist talks, wife beating...
Arrogance is that attitude meaning "I'm better than yall" wich belong to narrow minded successfull persons.
I always enjoy Floyd being in the ring but when he opens his mouth, it's getting boring and sometimes pathetic.
I think it's more related to their behaviour being border line, for example Hopkins is far to be a compliant and "docile" cat and he never had any problem with the old man, Larry always showed him true respect.
billy i have to disagree. after the ortiz fight floyd was givinghis take on what happened. he was not "arrogant" or cocky. he told larry vic did a bad thing and got his just due. merchant jumped on him, he was looking to be provocative. and i think all good fighter are very confident which some mistake for arrogance. and most fighters think they are better than other fighters. its the nature of the game. just like politics all politicians are cocky pricks they work hard to make the sheep like public think other wise. but they think they are better than joe public.
Perhaps it didn't suit Steward's comment to mention that Hamed was a long-time sufferer from crumbling hands and especially for the last 3-4 years before he retired. He lost interest at that time, and when you consider that he trained for about 20 days for Barrera it makes sense. He retired on a win,, beating a 30-0 opponent, something not enough are able to do.
Correct me if im wrong but I recall the baby faced assassin schooled the prince and made him look bad. Even bullied him, pushing him into the turn buckle. Hameds power was a non factor as he was easily out boxed.
