You have some points there bro, I just don't agree with all of them. I think what people see of Floyd in print and on the television are not true representations of the man. If anyone should know a created boxing persona from a real one it's Merchant. Sometimes I think the lines in his analysis become blurred and he clearly ceases to objective. There's nothing really wrong with this, it's just that it makes fight commentary less believable to the fan watching. I don't believe Floyd would be as good as he is if he didn't put so much pressure on himself to be excellent, and so he is when it comes to his boxing career. I've learned to separate what he says as a fighter/promoter from the man that appeared in court several days ago. As to Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler and Bernard Hopkins not being compliant, I beg to differ. They may have been edgy, with personality, and all were certainly great champions, however, I see their personas as less edgy than Mayweather and therefore more acceptable. This is a lie, I can't stand this "created boxing persona" talk. He was also one of the only commentators giving Lennox Lewis credit when most of the U.S was in denial about how great he was. With the exception of George Foreman, I've never heard anyone speak as highly of Holyfield, either. And Foreman was beaten by Holyfield, so it is to be expected. And then he gave Lewis sh1t for knocking out Vitali.

I never understood Larry's beef with Hopkins. Hops is a very humble individual, and even under criticism from Larry, Hops still manages to keep his cool. He used to love Hopkins. Then switched with him. Same with Floyd. Roy. Etc.
