Folks, let's not make this complicated. Floyd has run out of excuses and now wants a sabbatical. He just came off one. Listen, I am not knocking him , his record, his style of fighting, his character or anything else. He has earned all of that BUT...he wants NO part of Manny. This little guy from the Philippines has Floyd ready to take a couple years off until Manny loses interest, speed to age, or whatever. When Floyd plows through his money and needs more and Manny isn't on the horizon, he will reappear. If this isn't true, as Freddie Raoch says, "Floyd just sign the contract, and let's get it on." It isn't any more complicated than that. Manny has agreed to the Floyd rule of blood letting in to the tubes. Throw caution to the wind if you aren't afraid, and give the fans the fight everyone wants to see. Hope the message is clear enough! what is the rush? apparently it was not that simple in the first place or Manny would have signed the contract back in January!!!!

Bad Precedent? Why? He was using his authority as a referee to allow the fight to continue. Foreman was exchanging though he might have been on the short of the exchanges, he was not hurt. He allowed Foreman time, the doctor's allowed him to continue. Him losing his advantage of lateral movement advantage is not an excuse to stop the fight. In Mercante estimation Foreman wanted to fight, could fight and was not taking extraordinary punishment. In my opinion, his stoppage was kind of crappy, as soon as Foreman hit the mat, he waved it off, like he assumed his knee buckled again, he didn't even count. If you're going to let the guy continue, count him out. Tha was a punch that floored him not the injury.

pac/floyd is never gonna happen if floyd doesn't compromise Newsflash- Pacquiao is the one that needs to compromise.. he has ZERO leverage.

How about kendall Holt or Demetrius Hopkins? they'd be a good local draw to help fill up the building.

For those who say Manny has improved.. look at the fighters he has faced since his last bout with Marquez. All guys with questionable chins, guys who come forward and guys are not real defensive fighters. I don'tknow if he has really improved, I just feel like they are selecting opponents who are not real threats to him. There is not one advantage Pacquiao has over Mayweather. not punching power ( KO % is about the same)

Eventhough it will not any time soon. A fight with Khan in England would rival what a fight against Pacquiao would make. But again that would not any time soon. I am not a believer in the notion that Martinez or Williams are that dangerous of a fight. The only advantages either would have is height and reach. Martinez or Williams are not what you call KO artists. Floyd severely outskills them both and they both take way too many shots to be effective against an accurate technician and tremendous defensive fighter like Floyd.

Floyd will make $20 mil a fight regardless of who he fights. Floyd has many more interesting and attractive options than Pac does. You can say what you want about spending, he has a lot more of it to spend than Pac does. Maybe pac's dollars are worth more in the Phillipines but he doesn't make as much as Floyd per fight. That is unbiased truth on the matter that cannot be slanted. if no Floyd vs Manny would the public rather see Manny vs. Cotto or Margarito or Floyd vs. Martinez or P-Will?

and also j-ro, i would liek to add that manny never even beat the man to become #1, he got it by default. Cotto was a good win, but it was at a catchweight and clottey wasn't really a top 5 ww. I would rank berto, mosley, cotto, floyd, and pacquiao above him. The ranking is right and most people knew who the real #1 was before the fight saturday! Just my opinion. Floyd beat 2 Top 5 P4P fighters( #3 and #4) in 9 months, Pac has beat a fringe P4P guy in Cotto and unranked Josh Clottey. I believe based on this Floyd deserves to move up to the #1 spot. You can use all of excuses you want to after he beats them up, his competition has been superior to Pac's in the last year. Everyone came up with a reason why Marquez and everyone came up with a reason why Mosley would win and look what happened them both.

People... This is called media posturing. Trying to shift the blame of a failed negotiation away from it's right owner. Team Pacquiao is simply trying to play the blame game and win the PR Battle it is now losing. Floyd is fully jsutified in ASKING for a bigger percentage, the number don't lie, he is the bigger PPV draw.. period no debate!!! he is the lineal welterweight champion.. no debate there. The only thing debatable is who is top P4P. IF he does come to the table looking for a few percentages points more he has a strong case. The word ducking is mentioned often in reference to Floyd regarding Pacquiao, but I ask the questions Who is negotiating in Media when they said they wouldn't? Who has a date already selected for a fight that has not even been negotiated yet? Who has a site reserved ? Who has an opponent selected already? Who has no interest in the fight and who doesn't?

So Pac's come from out of nowhere, unemployed trainer with the secret shakes doesn't believe in random drug testing in boxing. Is there any other sport where being souped on roids/PEDs could be more critical to life or death? but yet this guy and his buddy Vic Conte want to criticize the USADA. To those who say Pac is compromising in accepting a 14 day cutoff now.. please remember Floyd agreed to EVERYTHING Pacquiao asked for in the previous negotiation and Pacquiao walked away from the fight because of 1 demand made by Floyd. Let's keep that in perspective when casting blame or making claims of someone ducking someone or not wanting to make the fight happen. If Pac is now agreeable to the cut off, you have to ask yourself why now, he knows they clearly lost leverage and now must turn it around.

Pac V Cotto / Foreman / Margarito is a DISGRACE to comparison to a Mayweather fight. Arum = inhouse matching greedy old man. agreed!!! If arum is mentioning all of these fights @ 154 for Pac, why not Martinez?

Well he's not my alt. I don't have any alts. And yes Khan has been protected from punchers in his career. And with good reason. He can't take a punch. But when you are a world champion, you are obliged to fight the best, big punchers or not. Khan is remedying his previous avoidance of big punchers by calling out Maidana at every opportunity possible. So now Maidana has to step up either in July or in the fall. If Khan fights Maidana and wins he deserves a lot of credit. He is a good fighter, with awesome power. Why doesn't Khan deserve props for beating a fighter who can put his lights out with one punch? why? because Maidana is injured and has a contract to fight Tim Bradley. Khan and his people know that, but it sure sounds good doesn't it. They are trying to win the public opinion battle, by saying they want Maidana knowing it is a long shot to fight him now and also knowing if he does fight him, Khan has most of the tactical advantages. Freddie Roach doesn't allow his fighters to take fight where there is great risk in his fighter losing. Thus no Mosley or Marquez for Pacquiao the only reason for them even thinking about Mayweather is because there is an unbelievable demand for it. Let's be real here, Khan v Maidana is likened to Pacquiao v Hatton. Yes Hatton can KO you qith one punch, but Pacquiao was much faster and a way better boxer. the same thing with Khan and Maidana. again- Why not called out Bradley or Alexander?

what I find utterly ridiculous, How people in Pacquiao camp are all over the media making statements everyday. Since Floyd is not commenting, why isHe is scared? He said he was taking a vacation and will deal with the fight once he returns. If the fight is going to be made it will be made at the negotiation table. Team Pacquiao is trying to sway public opinion because he is taking a beating on the testing issue, making comments everyday is deflecting from that issue isn't it? Freddie Roach who admitted Mosley was too difficult of an opponent for Pacman, is now confident pac can beat Mayweather because he has no more legs, he beat Mosley at his own game, he stood in the middle of the ring and beat his azz for 11 out of 12 rounds, no legs are you serious, keep fooling yourself Freddie.

a few things to ponder in this debate. 1. Bradley's promoter has stated that they are holding Maidana to his contract, so when Maidana is able to fight, he will be fighting Bradley. 2. Think about who Khan's trainer is. The same Freddie Roach that carefully selects Manny Pacquiao opponents, the guy who wanted nothing to do with Shane Mosley, the guy who does not want Pac to fight mayweather etc.. Maidana is the perfect opponent for Khan to fight, he is slow and gets hit alot etc.. It makes perfect sense to me why he wants to fight him and not the other guys. 3. Maidana might be the only so called top guy he could possibly get to fight in England. 4. According to most publications ( including Ring Mag) he is rated #3, why not challenge the guys ahead of you instead of guys behind you, if you say you want to clean out a division?

I dont get why our ripping a guy for TRYING to make the fight, instead of asking your man Flloyd why hes not trying....Floyd dont give a fvck about catching his positive, hes just using it as negotiating power. A man that TRUELY believes a fighteris on PEDs would NEVER even think about 2 day cutoff let alone 14... I never said Floyd is ducking the fight, but if he doesnt accept this, i see it as a true duck. What you fail to understand is that Floyd is in the position of power now. Floyd has already taken the USADA testing. So there isn't really anything to negotiate about. That battle is won. If Manny refuses to take anything but random testing, he will be the cause of the fight not happening. public opinion is so far in Floyd's favor right now, Pac has no choice. Floyd could ask for a little more than 50/50 and be justified, his PPV #'s are better than Pac, period, no rationales or reasoning. All the pac fans can pretend that he has a lot bargaining power but he doesn't, he certainly has less than he had at the prior negotiation. This fight will be the largest payday he has ever had.

Unfortunately as long as promoters have control in boxing the money will dictate what happens.

You guys are giving Bute WAY too much credit. He has not fought anybody!! He was KO'd by Andrade. Pavlik lost to B-Hop no dishonor in that and he lost to Martinez, both are elite fighters. I do not put Bute in that category. First he only fights in his hometown ans second he has never been in their with ANY world class competition. Pavlik and Bute is a good match up. People are giving Bute too much respect and Pavlik not enough. This is from a person who is not even close to being a Pavlik fan.

Well, at some point Jr. will have to step up. But he will get destroyed by both Cotto and Margarito. But at some point he has to step up and see what he's made of. But as I said, he'll get folded. I am so tired of people saying Margarito will destroy this guy and that guy. Who has he beaten besides Cotto and there is a big question mark about that considering the plastered wraps. Give me a break, Margarito is an above average fighter in the same class as Collazo and Clottey.

This is getting ridiculous. What are people going to say if Pacquiao agrees to full testing and the fight is signed? Are people going to come up with a new set of excuses in case he loses? The fight is there to be made and I believe it will. Drug testing should never be the reason why a fight fails. Mayweather needs to stop the retirement talk. And Pacquiao needs to forget about cutoffs. And the fans should stop making excuses for both. Make the f*cking fight. There is plenty of time to make this fight happen, we'll just have to wait and see. I thnk the pressure to get this signed 6 months in advance falls squrely on the shoulders of Bob Arum, who in my opinion does not really want the fight to take place. Think about it, he keeps talking about IF the fight doesn't happen, he'll match Pac with one of his fighters- Cotto or Margarito. he could potentially make as much money being the sole promoter of one of those fights as he would with a split with GBP and he can have it in Texas too. Please keep everything in its proper context.

If anyone else championed this movement, most of you would be all for it. But because of your man love for Pacquiao and hatred for Floyd, you are dispelling this as a ploy. Many boxers are now stepping forward and agreeing to testing. The fact of the matter is more stringent testing is needed in boxing. It seems that most boxers are open to random drug testing for blood and urine, it is the boxing organizations who are resisitant to change. As for the 14 day cutoff holding up the fight, the last time I checked negotiations have not even began for this fight, so none of us have any idea of what is going to happen.

How do we even know he asked for more money, just because Team Pacquiao said he did? Pacquiao vs Margarito is already set... Now for the spin by Pacquiao and company to make it seem like they are legitimately trying to make this fight happen. You cannot in good faith go into a negotiation with an opponent, date and site already set.

so youve never heard of boxer weight lifting 5 months before a fight? haha, how naive. also, floyd only tests 1 month before a fight. those 2-3 months you mentioned he could be roiding too. The lean muscle gained wont be gone come fight night, but the trace or roids could be since he's not yearly tested. haha who the **** are you, tygart himself, stop selling us. You act like youre making money off this. who cares about usada, we just want the fight. Manny is willing to comprimise on these lame tests that dont even catch a true roid user. the whole point of floyd bringing up all these is to clean up the sport, but he's not even being tested year round. Until then, he just found a way out of the fight, and currenly you have no answer as to why he's not being tested right now. Stop making this about Floyd. What are you going to say when the NSAC adopts random testing, which they will. Where someone is tested year round is not relevant at all, that is just a thinly veiled attempt on your part to make a point that is totally moot. The idea of random drug testing as relates to boxing is to prevent a roided up fighter from entering the ring. Since you are such an authority on roids, you would know steriods need to be taken in cycles, so testing 2-3 months from an event is an effective deterrent and can successfully mitigate the usefulness of them.

Public opinion is Pac wants this fight and Floyd will come up with something to run away from this fight and flomos will rationalze his sissy ass move. So Floyd is afraid of Manny and not afraid of Mosley? Because a "report" says this and that, which is later denied or contradicted by someone else in his camp, we are supposed to believe what? If he wants the fight agree to the terms. Floyd agreed to everything and Manny has agreed to none of his demands. overweight penalty, size of the ring, size of the gloves, etc, Floyd agreed to them all.

HBO will have no problem giving the go ahead for this fight it might not PPV. Tim Bradley is kidding himself if he thinks he is a big money fighter the only big money fights in that division will involve Bradley or Alexander vs. Khan, becuase Khan is the cashcow of the division right now. These other fights will be good money but not mega fights. The way I see it, is they fight each other now, the loser will move up, the winner will fight Khan and whoever wins will move up and they'll battle with Berto in a year or so.

ok mate! it isnt about floyd then why is the fight stalling mate? whose demands are we waiting on? Isnt the whole bloody issue the result of the fight not happening? if it was about boxing mate, youd push for year round testing instead of worrying aboot 14 days. Year round testing by who? The sanctioning body, The state athletic commisions, the promoters? who pays that bill and which fighters out of the thousands who currently hold boxing licenses around the world. Random testing is random testing, no cut off dates. A lot of you guys are losing sight of that fact. you cannot schedule random tests. Over the past few months Manny has lost any leverage he has on the issue. More and more boxer are coming out in support of it, the NSAC is considering switching to more stringent testing, the public is overwhelmingly in support of it, Floyd's PPV numbers are higher, Floyd fought the lineal welterweight champ and nearly shut him out, Pac wouldn't fight Mosley. All of this posturing in the media is a poor veiled attempt to pre-emptively place blame should the fight not take place. Funny how Arum already has a date, site and opponent already picked out for Manny.

It was the last episode, filmed as Mosley was leaving to go to Vegas (Tuesday or Wednesday of fight week). And Mosley complained about being tested the "week of the fight." Find it. If this fight does not happen, Bob Arum will be to blame. He just said he was not going to negotiate in the media and every other day there is something in the media coming from Team Pacquiao or Arum about this drug testing. I tell you what Bob Arum better not be the one sitting at the table when talks start or things will go bad real quick. To place the blame on Floyd is just stupid at this point, he has a personal vendetta against Floyd and it might cost Pacquiao this fight which I doubt anybody from his team really wants. Notice- not a word from the Mayweather camp at all. When you have all the leverage you don't have to say a thing. It will all come to you eventually.

for the one millionth time.. Many agree to a term from a previous negotiation is nothing but something for us to talk about. EVERY negotiation is different as circumstances change so do terms. The 18 days cut off by the USADA means nothing,if you agree to random testing, you agree to random testing.If anything that should make Pac more confortable that testign will take place late in camp. Anyone one with an honest opinion and open mind, should realize that Mayweather now has leverage in the negotiation, where he could push for full acceptance of random testing and a slightly higher percentage of the purse. His numbers indicate that he is a bigger draw than Pac. Anything Pac makes in this fight will be his highest payday ever.. We all know that is going to carry the promotion of the fight more than Pacman is going as well. No bias how it is.
