WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan is now pushing for the showdown with interim-champion Marcos Maidana. Khan plans to return at the end of July in England and then wants to fight again in the United States at the end of the year. Khan is not ducking away from fighting Maidana next, in the UK, on the tentative date of July 31.

"That's who I want. That's who I want to fight next. I said that I want to go to the UK for the British fight fans. I want to fight over there because the media and the fans want to see me fight in the UK and that's what I'd like to do. A lot of my fans thought I left them and went to the States but I went there to have my debut fight and now I want to come back home and have a fight here for the UK fans and maybe then come back at the end of year in Vegas and have a big fight over there," Khan told talkSport.

Khan is set to speak with Golden Boy Promotions at the end of the week about a fight with Maidana. If he agrees to fight Maidana, he wants WBO champion Timothy Bradley and WBC/IBF champion Devon Alexander to fight each other. Khan wants to be clear, he is not going to fight everyone at the weight. He wants the other top fighters at 140 to fight each other too.

"Maidana is who I would like to fight next. Speaking to Golden Boy at the end of the week and lets see what we can get arraigned. I think Maidana is who is standing in front of me at the moment," Khan said.

"And then after Maidana then I'll fight someone like Timothy Bradley or the winner of Bradley and Alexander because I think the two of them should if I'm going to fight Maidana. I think the two of them need to fight each other because I'm not going to fight every fighter in the light welterweight division. I want people to face each other as well. I want to be number one in this division and I have to fight the best to be the best.
