Nothing has been heard from the side of Floyd Mayweather Jr., regarding Manny Pacquiao's verbal promise to take random drug tests until a period of 14-days before a planned fight in November. The WBO welterweight champion recently changed his mind. Mayweather and Pacquiao were unable to reach an agreement a few months ago. Mayweather requested the 14-day period. At the time, Pacquiao was requesting 24-days.
Golzka quotes Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank as stating that his company approached Golden Boy Promotions to make a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Nothing has been heard from their side. Mayweather is said to be on vacation with his family. Arum told the paper he will make a more aggressive push after Saturday's fight between Miguel Cotto and Yuri Foreman is over.
"I don't really want to talk about it. We have heard nothing. It's been deafening silence," Arum said.
