Broner hasn't performed well in his last 3 fights. He's too focused on his crappy music career and moulding himself in Mayweather's image, unsuccessfully I might add.
Khan will jab him to death. Broner can't cope with speed nor counter punches. I expect Khan would win on points and not get drawn into a tear up. Broner won't want that anyway after he's just been battered by Maidana.
Interesting fight but only one winner for me.
OK Fraudley! So who is gonna promote your next fight then??? No promoter worth their salt will ever promote your fights again. Then you have the problem of finding an opponent! After your dire display against David Haye you don't deserve to be in the ring with anyone! In fact you could have been in against a bale of hay and you still would've been KTFO!!! Useless waste of space....give it up!
The only reason you believe Pacman in on PED's is because you believe what Floyd Senior said. Before that it was never mentioned on here or anywhere else. All of a sudden Floyd Senior accuses him of being on drugs and you along with the rest of the Mayweather fanbase jumped on the bandwagon. End of.
How Fraudley Harrison can even get a world title shot is unbelievable. He is a waste of space! He doesn't pull the trigger enough to compete at the highest level. He reminds me of Henry Akinwande and a bit of Frank Bruno the way they both always seemed to be frightened of throwing punches. This would be a major step back for David Haye if he does fight him. Personally I don't want this fight to happen, I'd rather see Haye fight one of the Klit's but there's so much shit going on that those fights may never happen.
After beating Monte Barratt and Nikolai Valuev why would anyone want to fight the washed up bum that is Fraudley Harrison?
Negros should be banned from boxing, period!
RJJ,HOLYFIELD,MAYWEATHER,WARD,TONEY and now FUNEKA and list goes on and on and on,they all got cought of juicing.
Shame on you negros!
I hope the forum police hunt you down and ass**** you with a garden fork! RACIST TWAT!
It doesn't really matter what the real reasons are for this fight not happening are. The problem for Floyd now is the boxing press and the media are turning against him. If any of what Arum has been spouting isn't true then why aren't the people he's been naming coming out to defend themselves? No news from the Mayweathers, no news from HBO, it's all too quiet following Arum's conference call. If he really has been lying, the other parties involved surely would be standing up now and saying something about it, but no.....nothing at all.
Psshhht...
Sure we need the truth, but why do we need Warren to reiterate that for us? He never says anything relevant, and I have next to no interest in whatever he wants to get off his chest regarding boxing - unless it's something to do with his own fighters and their upcoming opponents.
If you have no interest in Frank Warren's comments why read the thread then spend time posting about it?
I agree with this article until further notice. Meaning until we hear from the MAYWEATHER camp. One thing I do disagree with is calling MAYWEATHER an ALL-TIME GREAT. Based on what? He's a HALL OF FAMER but ALL-TIME GREAT is a little far fetched in my opinion. I mean, you have to take risks to be great. MAYWEATHER has done everything except that so I don't mention him with the LEONARDS, ALIS, DURANS, HAGLERS, HEARNS, HOLYFIELDS, CHAVEZS.......you guys get where I'm going. This guy is scared to death of losing! I can't think of any other reason he would duck an era full of quality opposition. It's not like when TYSON was heavyweight champ or HOLMES for 8yrs. and didn't have anyone to dance with. There are plenty of fighters that would make him an ALL-TIME GREAT if he'd be willing to take the risk. WILLIAMS, BERTO, COTTO, MARTINEZ at 154, PACQUIAO of course, CLOTTEY, MARGACHEETO, BUT HE NEVER WILL. Sorry L.F. GOOD read other than that.
Exactly. I have not seen anything where both sides have said that everything is agreed upon. All we hear is Arum talking. And Arum is not the most trustworthy guy.
If that were the case and Arum was talking rubbish then surely the mayweather clan would release a statement saying so. They haven't and it's been in the news for over a week that the contract offer is with Floyd awaiting his approval. If that wasn't true it would have come out by now. Arum deserves some kudos too, he's one of the best promoters of all time and has staged some of the biggest fights. People saying he's not trustworthy is not fair at all......he's no Don King!!!
Anyone who knows boxing knows Paulie is an honorable man and is very respectful. I don't doubt for a minute what he said happened in the locker room at the Wild Card Gym. Of course Broner will deny it as its embarrassing for him. I'm looking forward to this. Should be a good test for both fighters.
It's a real shame but Paulie shows better skills talkin shit than he does in the ring. He spends more time in front of the mirror than he does in the gym!
I wonder if he'd say those things if he was in the same room as Manny?
Referee was very poor!
I couldn't care less whether Khan wins or loses, however the referee was terrible on Saturday. In that ring there was a boxer (Khan) and a brawler (Peterson). Every time there was a clinch, the referee didn't split the fighters. He let Peterson do the roughing up and lead with his head. Khan had to push him away. Peterson was only warned once for leading with his head, which was right at the start of the final round, when he'd being doing it since round 3!
Cast your minds back to the Hatton vs Mayweather fight, Hatton tried doing exactly what Peterson did but the ref that night (Cortez) didn't let him for a second! Ok, Cortez was probably a bit over the top with his constant interfering and saw more action than the 2 fighters that night, but he was splitting the fighters up when they were tangled up, Cooper didn't do it once in the entire fight! Why?
In my opinion Khan was punished for his pushing as a direct result of the referee not being strong enough, or him being deliberately one sided to Peterson's advantage.
Fights need fair refereeing or else there is no point in having the fight at all. Nobody can say that the referee was fair in this fight. Peterson put on a good show and the fight was close. It's becoming a problem in boxing more and more, corrupt officials a ruining the sport. Just look at the end of the fight again. 10 minutes to get the scorecards and when they appear one of them had been altered. Now that Khan has appealed the scorecards have miraculously been lost!!!
Something is rotten in Washington, and it ain't Obama's socks!!!
I don't give Garcia much of a chance against Floyd. Think back to the Khan fight. Before Amir got caught with the big hook in round 4, he was completely outclassing Garcia with quick jabs, movement and speed. If he can do that, Floyd will have no problem dealing with him.
One-sided unanimous decision for Floyd.
This fight should be an even split. Floyd is forever moaning about being on a level playing field in terms of drug testing so why not for the purse? Floyd just can't keep dropping in and out of retirement, cherry picking fights and demanding the lion's share of the money!
No doubt the haters will come back and say Floyd's last fight generated more PPV buys than Pac's but theres a simple explanation for this. Everyone wants to see Floyd get beat. They are not buying because they want to see the Pretty Boy box......it's because he's one of the most annoying people in the sport and people want to see him lose!
Stop hiding Floyd and make the damn fight!
Good fight but disappointing
I thought it was a great fight although I did think the ref was a little too quick to blame Khan for everything. Every time there was a clinch of any kind, he was calling Khan's name, never Peterson despite him leading with his head a lot. Yes Khan did some pushing and holding but I thought it was coming from both fighters, not just Khan.
That aside it was a good fight to watch. Kudos to Peterson's camp for the change of strategy. He was never gonna win on the outside and when he switched to the 'Rough him up on the inside' tactics in round 3, he never looked back. Khan struggles fighting on the inside and if you look at his last few fights, all the problems he's been given have been from that position. Khan is unbelievably fast on the outside, but on the inside he doesn't get enough punches off.
That said, if he hadn't been deducted the 2 points he'd have won the fight on all 3 scorecards. Disappointing from a Brit perspective but I think the right man won on the night.
Khan will no doubt want a rematch asap as his career cannot afford another blip like this. He needs those titles back. All that talk about moving up in weight should be put on ice and he should take a couple more fights before he does that.
One thing I absolutely do expect to happen now is for Timothy Bradley to start calling Khan out now that his winning streak has come to an end. It would be typical of Bradley after he refused to fight Khan more than once over the past 2 years.
I still believe Khan has something to offer, but he needs to win his next fight BIG or he'll be off to the knackers yard to join Ricky Hatton, David Haye and Naseem Hamed!
It must hurt for the Pactards to watch the fighter of the decade having to massage Floyd's nuts to get a fight. "Pac dont have to take this, he wont be bullied" uhh....oh yes he will.
Manny and Floyd both need this fight. They're both trying to prove to be the best and both need to fight the best. Mayweather holds the edge in negotiations if we go off the last fight revenue totals, however he needs the fight just as much as Manny if not more! If Floyd doesn't fight Manny then he'll always be remembered for it nomatter what else happens in his career. The same goes for Manny. If he doesn't fight Floyd then he'll be labelled the same. THEY BOTH NEED THIS FIGHT TO CEMENT THEIR LEGACIES!!!
No doubt Floyd will come out with another excuse now that Manny has agreed to the testing demands. What will he come out with this time? Probably the money situation. He'll demand a ridiculous cut in his favour which will ensure the fight doesn't happen. If floyd really wanted to fight Manny, he'd have done it by now. All this drug testing shinanigans is just a smokescreen thrown up by Floyd Snr.
Maybe this is all a bit of reverse psychology by the Mayweather clan and it's actually Floyd junior that's on PEDs?!?
There is a gag order to prevent shit like this from going on. How about Arum and Pacs Team just shut up unit the deadline of the negotiations have ran out. Then talk all the garbage you want. Their team has been really unprofessional but, then again they are working the general public like fools.
You're saying Pac's team are unprofessional yet it's the Mayweathers that started all the finger pointing and accusing Pac of taing PEDs with no proof. Yeah.....very professional.
Hows Roger the professional trainer's court case coming along by the way? He battered a female boxer didn't he? What a great professional example he's setting!
Roger Mayweather says 'Floyd's been to jail before, that's part of life'
I think he meant 'it's part of a Mayweather's life'!
Bunch of jailbirds all of em!
I'm surprised how a lot of boxing fans have bought the Mayweather camp's phoney accusations regarding PEDs. The way they've been going on about Pac using a secret Philipino military PED that's undetectable! Please! They just didn't want to fight Manny at the time and who could blame them. He's been destroying opponents for years now and his workrate, speed and power have proved way too much for his last few opponents. I don't think the Mayweather fight would be an easy one for Pac Man but he certainly has a great chance.
Look at how Mayweather struggled against Oscar until the mexican faded in the last few rounds. Floyd was having a hard time and Oscar would have won that fight if he'd been fit enough to keep pace throughout. Manny on the other hand doesn't fade in his fights, he gets stronger as they progress.
All this talk of PEDs is pure bullshit that the Mayweather camp have managed to convince you of when there is no suspicion whatsoever and never has been. Manny has never failed a drug test, of which there are many.
Floyd needs to beat Mosley first then ditch this testing crap and play by the commission's rulebook. He is not boxing's judge and jury and has no place to start trying to introduce new rules. If he thinks he has he should apply to the Commission when he retires.
Froch went over to fight Ward in the US last time and lost fair and square. Now Froch holds 2 World titles and Ward holds none. So if Ward wants the belts he has to travel to the double World Champion to fight him. Not only that but the fight would not sell as well in the US. As we know, Ward struggles to sell PPV and fill seats in the US. In the UK, Froch sells PPV very well and fills stadiums. In that sense, Froch is the bigger draw. UK fans would not pay to see Ward, only Froch.
Ward can say what he likes but Froch holds the belts and therefore has the bargaining power. Ward clearly wants the fight though as he flew to London to watch the fight at ringside. I'd be surprised if the fight doesn't take place in London. It makes financial sense, which is what boxing is all about these days!
I'm a bit shocked Frampton has ditched Matchroom and Sky to go to Frank Warren and Boxnation. It wouldn't be so bad if Boxnation could provide the numbers but they can't. They're struggling to get subscribers and Sky continue to put on great shows with Matchroom. Frank Warren's time is over. Smart fighters know his tactics and either leave him or don't go with him in the first place.
I like Frampton but if he thinks he's going to get more exposure on a channel that hardly has any viewers, he's crazy!
Have you not seen Khan in the amateurs? He was always getting shooken up and thats with head-gear on! Also, if you watched his professional fights you would know that fighters who were light punchers had him hurt and knocked down at times. He's got a glass chin.
Yes I saw Khan fight a few times in the amateurs but didn't ever see him in trouble. I've seen all his Pro fights and have been to 4 of them and never saw him in trouble except once again Michael Gomez where he was a little careless and rushed in (much like the Prescott fight). He got off the canvas and battered him though. Yes he gets caught now and again but nowhere near as much as he used to due to his speed and now very good defense since teaming up with Freddy and sparring with Pacman.
You're making out that he's struggled in his pro fights against weak opponents when that couldn't be further from the truth. If his jaw is that weak why are Sky, HBO and Golden Boy throwing so much weight behind him? Why has the World's best coach picked him up? Coincidences? No.
If Floyd doesn't respond to the proposal it's really gonna hurt his reputation and his legacy. Surely he's not scared of Pacman? It does seem like it at the moment though.
Let's be honest here. Khan got caught cold by Prescott but look at what happened following that fight. Prescott has been beaten 3 times, once by Paul McCloskey who Khan beat a couple of years ago. Prescott has been on a downward spiral ever since. Of course he wants a rematch as its his best chance of making money and the biggest fight he could possibly get as no world champ will give him a shot as he brings nothing. He has no fanbase, no belt, nothing to bring to the table.
I'd fancy Khan to demolish him if they met again but you know he'd come out swinging trying to land the sucker punch again!
Forget this fight. Khan needs to rebuild and do it properly this time. Time to leave the Wildcard Gym and get some home comforts in his regime.
If the testing is going to happen then there shouldn't be a cut-off. It wouldn't be needed anyway as you can see from the Floyd vs Shane fight the last blood test was 18 days before the fight. The guy in the interview said they would only test within days of the fight if there was a valid reason or they had suspicions that one of the fighters was using.
I really hope this fight happens. We all want to see it and find out who's really the best out of these 2 great fighters......Floyd Mayweather or recently crowned fighter of the year and decade, Manny Pacquiao?
Boxnation is great for boxing in the UK but they need to do more to get people to sign up. Unless you are 'in the know' and follow boxing, you probably wouldn't know it exists. On top of that, they are a bit cheeky with new subscribers. Take saturday just gone as an example. For a new subscriber it's £10 a month the same as everyone else, right? Well not if you want it on today it isn't. If you ring them on the day of a fight and sign up, they'll tel you if you want it on for today's fight, you have to pay a quick connection charge of £9.20! What a rip off! ESPN dont do this, MUTV dont do this, and Sky don't do this either. That's just plain greedy and pisses me off!!!
Their advertising has £10 a month no minimum term, etc but nowhere does it say that on the day of a fight you have to pay almost another tenner just to receive the service you're paying to subscibe to.
Frank Warren always tries to make others look bad. He can't open his mouth without dissing someone else in the sport. He's done it with every fighter that has seen sense and left him to go on to greater things.
Maloney said what everyone was thinking. Why quit in a world title fight? It was only after the hospital scans that he couldve known about the extent of the injury so he can't be blamed for being heartless or whatever Warren wants to call him.
At the end of the day we all know what Frank Warren is all about.
This place makes me laugh!
Accusations are being thrown around regarding corruption and drug cheats. Funny though when you think about it. None of the guys in question have ever been found guilty of any wrongdoing by the FBI, Police, CIA, any boxing association or government agency, yet the keyboard warriors seem know best and can spot a corrupt promoter from across the Internet without ever being involved in any way shape or form!
