I agree that Jones would win this fight easily. That's not a knock on Hagler. Jones would neutralize Haglers pressing attack, Jones was a pretty good inside fighter, and knew how to keep safe in there. I don't know if he would stop Hagler, but it is not crazy to think he could be put down with a flash knockdown. Jones' speed is just a bit too much.
Alton Merkison, Roy Jones' trainer is the one who laid him out. The funny thing is that Alton is usually cool as a cucumber. Norman Stone is an asshole who could piss off the pope.
He is horrible to watch. His corner man eats almight a$$. But he seems to get wins...the last time he lost was against Jones and that was the first time in awhile. Like him or not...the SOB sticks around like a bad rash.
I give Mosley a chance. He didn't look too good in the first fight, but I think he could do a lot better. Winky may come in overconfident, but I doubt it.
That is a great fight with an unfortunate end. Kinda of creeped me out watching it because I knew the outcome. On a side note, Benn should have lost that fight to begin with. He was out of the ring, and not to his feet in under 10 secs early in the fight. Reguardless of that, a great fight with a sh*tty ending.
I can't believe anyone would think Gatti has a chance. This is a stupid fight. I give Gatti next to no chance. People just want to see him fight because he can take a beating and he wears his heart on his sleeve. Demolition by Tzsyu, who by the way I don't think is as good as everyone makes him out to be.
The reason they started using gloves was so that they could fight longer without breaking their hands. That rule, along without having round limits is what caused most of the deaths in boxing. If there were no gloves the fights wouldn't go 6 rounds, and there would not be nearly as many punches thrown. Busted knuckles galore.
As far as MMA (UFC type fighting) having more devistating KO's, they may look more brutal, but boxing is much harder on the body and the brain due to sustained beatings. I have taught martial arts for roughly 6 years now (jiu-jitsu, some kickboxing among other things) and have done both MMA and boxing recreationaly. In my experience, MMA hurts more, but boxing is much harder on you physically.
Rahman vs. Lewis I was a pretty vicious one..
I agree Rahman vs Lewis was nice, even nicer because Lewis was smiling just seconds before it. Jones vs Hill was nice too.
