Shak's belly lost him the fight, guy had the skills but got hit too hard to hold Lopez off.

I've gone with Mike Alvarado on points. Initially I thought Rios would win, based on Alvarado's recent wars in the ring and trouble outside, but when I watched the fights over, Mike was getting some success with stiff shots on a tricky HOFer Marquez, and showed his grit by taking some huge shots and still finishing the fight. I think he looked worse against Prov. because of Prov's power which just caused him to shell up and back-pedal all night. But Rios won't hit as hard and I'd expect Mike to meet him in the middle and look to counter just outside of Rios' reach. I think Mike looks the more suited to the weight of 147 but I know that counts for nothing once the punches start flying. Watching the Post fight interview with Rios after Manny, the guy was nearly mentally broken and looked on his way to a close loss against D.Chaves. Fighting in Mike's Home town might be an opposing factor for Rios too, and just going on technical ability I gotta favour Mike. Just hoping age and all the drama in and out the ring hasn't caught up with him. Both these guys take too many punches in their fights and I can't see this one being much different. Also, didn't Rios test positive for something after the Pacquiao fight? Hope he doesn't come in juicy tonight.

A good few Pro boxers having been saying Keith Thurman has the skills that could beat Mayweather. He's fighting The Ghost Guerrero soon, so that'll be a good test for him.

I figured sooner or later that Thurman would face guerrero...a tough guy with some skills but isn't the hardest to hit....I cant wait for this fight...I love thurmans attitude as fighter Me too. Wish more boxers had the same outlook! Would love to see Thurman Maidana, even though I think Thurman could dominate, they both have the power to change a fight with any punch. Maidana's got those rough-house tactics and unorthodox angles that give any fighter a hard night.

I know people are caught in the disappointment of Floyd vs Manny not happening but Cotto can beat the Floyd that fought Maidana both times. Maidana is wild and is not great at cutting off the ring and setting up his power shots. I still think a Roach trained Cotto that's focuses on a jab and body punches can give Floyd the toughest fight he ever had. I liked Cotto's performance against Martinez but it still left a few questions about Cotto, especially after all the talk of SM's knees. I'd personally like to see a rematch with Trout to see if he has improved as much as it seemed. Either that or possibly a fight with Tim Bradley, if Tim can get his head together as he seemed to fight different after both Pac fights (choosing to brawl with Prov, + D.Chavez. With his head right he's one of the toughest fights out there around WW. Not the greatest power but speed and movement would be a great test of Cotto's ability to cut off the ring.

Only hope for Alvarado at this stage is Rios tiring, and tiring quick.

As expected, Matthysse just outboxed him, looked pretty fresh too other than a bit of swelling in the eye. Provo still remains a dangerous MF, slugging it out like that. At ANY point you can get caught with a couple haymakers and the fight then changes completely. Matthysse still took a few direct his from Provodnikov and stayed on the fight. He clearly still has a good chin. Yeah ruslan's face was basically purple after round 1. He does have that game changing power but Matthysse boxed smart. Looked like a slugfest but Matthysse was boxing not brawling. Chavez jr just got dismantled by Fonfara as well, great night of boxing tonight.

Prov got smashed tonight and I had him to win. The cut early in the 2nd was big surprised it didn't end up in a doctor stoppage. Lucas' movement was to good for Prov and there was nothing left in the tank to rally with late. Good job Matthysse

I've got a feeling Matthysse loses this one. His fight against Molina made his chin suspect and a war like that might have taken something out of him. I've got a funny feeling Prov hits harder than Lucas (despite their records)(Mike Alvarado said he's never felt anyone punch so hard), and if the fight is a brawl which I believe it will be, Prov could stop him around the middle rounds if not earlier.

I see Thurman by a KO against a worn, body-shot beaten Guerrero, and Broner in a close-ish UD over hard hitting Molina. Both have too good a chin to envision a KO. A good slugfest in the centre.

Loma has some really good lateral movement and footwork...

Mayweather made Pac his fight, disrupted Pacs rhythm, Pac looked completely lost, didn't know what to do. I don't get why Pac thinks he won the fight. I think Pac was just completely dumbstruck and didn't really know what to say probably doubting his faith now and feeling like he let a whole country down, I felt kinda bad for him tbh. Both are legends and get respect where it's due from me, Manny's a fantastic fighter and Floyd is a true master craftsman in the ring. Hats off for tonights performance.

And as I type that someone posts a training vid of him looking sharp as a razor. He looks f*cking rapid in those training vids on that channel. Ah man hurry up and get here already. He's coming into this fight at like 143 and the speed will multiply his power the old Manny is back!

Fight I'm torn up on this fight, and the more I think about it, the harder it gets to pick a winner, but I'm leaning towards a Pac UD/SD win. A few things I've noticed... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33wli7LEU9U This punch seems to be working very good for Manny. He tagged Marquez in fight no. 4 and wobbled him bad. He caught Bradley with it hard in fight #2 and he absolutely splattered Algieri with it. Those crazy angle shots are the ones he could put Money May in big trouble with. It's also been mentioned about Mayweather's defence not being perfect for southpaws, especially not with a high work-rate. To me the Bradley fights 1&2 showed a lot about how Pacquiao can deal with a fighter that moves a lot. Bradley uses some serious body movement and footwork in those fights, but Pac was so relentless that Bradley ended up spraining about 3 ankles trying to get away while punches were raining in from absolutely everywhere. I think that Bradley is one of the best movers in boxing right now, but his heart ruling his head has made him look worse than he is (ie feeling a point to prove and going toe to toe with Provodnikov, Chaves). He seems to get reckless when he feels fans are against him. An example of Bradley's good movement was in the Provodnikov fight where, even when out on his feet, ducked and dodged about 12-15 vicious punches on the ropes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9MugwEtDXw (1:57 - 2:20) (3:42-4:05 being the opposite!) Floyd Mayweather will be getting out the way a lot smoother than Bradley I'll give him that, but I don't think he has the ability to keep up all that movement for 12 rounds: If Pacquiao throws maybe twice as many punches as Floyd, and Floyd gets on the ropes, he may find it harder to get away as the fight goes on. Floyd was (and understandably) slower in round 4 of the Maidana fight after the big shot at the end of round 3. I can see Pac landing more than Maidana, and If he can do enough, he could take the wind out of Floyd and do damage on the ropes. Also, the comparison of Floyd and Marquez's style seems a bit off to me, as Marquez is basically willing to risk getting KO'ed to land any punch, plus even if he gets knocked down, he's straight back up. Froch-like chin. May beat Marquez because Marquez had to take the fight to him, and blew-up practically 3 weight divisions, and looked in the worst shape I've seen him in championship fights. Slow, heavy-footed and getting picked off with counters. Bradley also showed what happened when you don't go steaming into Marquez like a bull (and that was when JMM was a fully-fledged welter and possibly juiced to the gills). Both guys have solid chins, and even though Pac was decimated by Marquez, that was literally the most perfect timing, positioning combined with biggest mistake all in one moment. With May's regular gloves I can't see him KO'ing Pac, and even if Pac does drop or hurt Money with a shot off balance or a flash KD, May has the goods to go 12 with anyone. I guess the only hope for either for a KO would be a sick body shot, which I just can't envision (but who knows?) Overall, I see the higher work-rate, crazy angles, power, hand speed advantage of Pac being able to (only just) overcome the ever so slightly ageing legs of Mayweather (still great footwork) and tip-top defence and counter-punching. I just hope Manny doesn't come out with too much respect and we see a Maidana-Mayweather 3 type fight, but with an upgraded Maidana in all departments. WAR Pacquaio!!! (P.S. Yep beat who was available at 140! 147 would be interesting for him only guys I would be worried about are Brook and Thurman not including May or Pac who are probably about done after May 2. Bradley would beat Garcia by easy UD at 147 if he didn't go in with a chip on his shoulder and brawl like he did vs Prov and Pac 2 or get robbed like against Cheater Chaves. Garcia trained Maidana got a good chance. Marquez has a great chance if he doesn't get splattered with the left hook (pac did him with one), even so he recovers quick enough. Shawn Porter and Khan (if he can dodge the left hook to the neck/ear this time). 147 is dangerous that's why garcia is going up 1 pound at a time, cause he knows with his record he can't do another Salka. He has to fight a big name. But Crawford's coming to 140 so it's not safe there for these boys.

Manny's speed isn't destroying anything. Stop repeating non sense you hear and read, and come up with your own thoughts. I could care less if you come back or not, This fight will not be competitive at all. If Floyd goes toe to toe with Manny I will be very surprised. I think Manny has faster hands, but Floyd has the better timing and accuracy. I think the majority will be fought on the retreat, any clashes in the centre turn to a goose-chase.

I think good sparring partners for Pac would be Bradley, Andrade, Lara and Khan. Good for May would be Porter, Garcia, Martirosyan, possibly Thurman
