Al Haymon is on fire. He is giving us fights we want to see. On April 11th We are in for a Treat. 2015 I think is going to be a fantastic year. I am picking Garcia to win by Knockout in the later rounds. Probably round 11.
Thank You Al Haymon
I saw the fight again last night and this is what I saw;
Danny def took rounds 2, 3, 5, 6, 7.
Peterson def took rounds 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
Rounds 1 and 4 are still up in the air to me.
Should have probably been a draw.
A draw is not out of the question. Lamont's reach advantage seemed to trouble Danny along with that pesky jab. To Danny's credit, he slipped a lot of them but something told me Lamont was not going to be a walk in the park if Danny could not land his Garsh consistantly throughout the night. Lamont did a great job of not getting caught with that hook.
My favorite part of the fight Peterson thought he was Naseem Hamed and then Danny had to show him the Trinidad shuffle! Lol
LMAO! Danny was silly with that shuffle.

When did people forget about even rounds?
If people utilized even rounds as they are suppose to, this is a clear landslide victory for Peterson.
Instead people feel the need to give either round to one guy or another, even when nothing happens.
And there are several of the rounds in the first half of the fight that should have been scored even, where Peterson negated all of Garcia's offense, and made him look like horse ****.
A close round that could have went either way, should be scored even.
If that's the case rounds 9 and 10 don't go Peterson's way either...

I dont get the thinking of boxers sometimes. Whether the strategy is to take the opponent into deep waters, or not get hit, ultimately the idea is to win rounds WHILE you're doing it :). Did Peterson dominate the last 5 rounds? Yes. But he wore his track shoes through the first 7, virtually giving Garcia an insurmountable number of rounds in the bank.
Peterson's safety first/pot shot strategy the first 7 rounds will only win you a fight if you're Bernard Hopkins :). By the time Peterson started sitting down and beating Garcia up, he had already lost the fight. He wasn't gonna get the KO or KD he needed to erase those first 7 rounds he gift wrapped to Garcia.
Meanwhile, Peterson starts clowning during his late rounds beating on Garcia. It made Peterson look like an even bigger fool. Because Peterson and Hunter were the only ones among the 15, 000 people in the arena and millions watching on tv, that DIDN'T know they were well on their way to losing on points :).
Peterson clearly had the skill to stay in the pocket with Garcia for 12 rounds. Why he chose to do it only in the final 5 rounds is a mystery.
My exact feelings, you nailed it. I get why Peterson did what he did. He wanted to start to trade with Garcia when he was completely gassed so his punches didn't have as much steam on them.
It was a great game plan but he needed to execute early... It's basic math. If you sweep the last 5 rounds but basically gave up the first 7 you're pretty much screwed especially when you're in with a guy who hasn't been knocked down of out ever.

Why even quote the corrupt statistics of Compu Box button pushers who are sitting at ringside? They have already been proven to be corrupt and crooked on multiple occasions over the years. Some of you cite Compu Box like it is some type of accurate punch stat computer or something. It is just two jokers sitting at ringside pushing buttons of what they think they see.
It was weird how he kept "warning" about the low blows without ever giving an actual warning...if that makes sense.
It's very strange. Don't understand why he keeps getting away with it.
i actually enjoyed both fights last night, and the scorecards were good.
Me too. And yeah both fights were close and I wouldn't have had a problem with either guy winning in either of the fights.
Garcia barely won, it could have been a draw but there's no way lamont won more than 6 rounds. What irked me the most is the number of times Garcia hit peterson low and the referee just kept warning him without deducting a point. He must have warned him more than three times in one round and Garcia kept doing it.
